“Our stay at Turismo Comunitario Las Esperanza was unforgettable thanks to the incredible location, the incredibly kind hosts, and the unique opportunity to share some time with members of an indigenous community. We stayed in the traditional choza which was large, clean and comfortable. The food (dinner and breakfast) was delicious and well prepared. “Well priced budget hotel. About a 20 minute walk from the old historic central, but we took a walking route down stairs that avoided traffic. The old town itself is beautiful with murals and restored colonial buildings. ”

“We got a standard room paying $85 which is on the high end for Ecuador. The rooms were old, the bathtub warped as you stepped on it. Later, we arrived late at night and could not contact the receptionist either by knocking on the door nor calling the phone numbers they gave us. There was no doorbell either, we finally got in contact with him and he let us in with no apology. The photos don’t match the property I’d look elsewhere. ”
