The host was wonderful and even met as at the front of the property to take us to our location. He answered all our questions and gave us a tour. The view was amazing and the pool was right there! "We had the best time at Lamangata - the hotel is stunning. You can tell Hernan & team take immense pride in the property, as it's impeccably cared for. The pool is also an absolute dream. One thing to note is that the property functions a bit like a chalet, with a setup designed to encourage interaction among guests. If you are open to this, it’s a massive highlight. The rooms are beautiful and offer sweeping views over the vast forest all the way down to the ocean. The surprising highlight of the trip was the unbelievable food. Chefs Eladio and Tony make everything from scratch, and it's all delicious. For activities, my friend took surf lessons and had a fantastic time, learning a huge amount in a very short period. Junior (the head coach) is an incredible teacher. Even though I didn’t surf this time, watching them made me want to come back for a dedicated week of learning! Location-wise, the hotel is situated up a long gravel road, so having a 4x4 is definitely helpful. However, the hotel team is also great at getting you wherever you need to go. You can't walk anywhere directly from the property, but it’s only a quick 10-15 minute drive to the nearest small town. The only minor inconveniences were that the Wi-Fi and the air conditioning in our room could occasionally be a little unreliable. However, the staff always sorted it out quickly, so it really didn't impact our stay. Overall, Lamangata is a truly special place. I can't wait to return!"

"Lovely property. Full of trails in its reserve. Went to the shore - 20 minutes through the woods - to the most magnificent and wild shore. Like heaven! Also went to the natural pool and waterfall - beautiful and cool! The garden, the ocean view from every spot, and the natural and simple wooden rooms - all was a great scene for nature. Dishes of the hotel restaurant (lunch/dinner), not cheap but very tasty. The only thing we missed is an umbrella (which was a must in any other hotel this time of year) for all very wet evenings that we got wet until got to the car..."

"We stayed for 5 nights at the hotel. The hotel has the most beautiful view of the ocean. The restaurant was great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The swimming pool was beautiful. We saw all kinds of birds and animals in the ground of the hotel. Highly recommend for anyone staying around the Uvita area with a car."
