Come back anytime to your strategically placed apartment after a morning of sightseeing, hiking, shopping, swimming, or whatever is your favorite activity, to cool down with a refreshing shower or a lunch, before setting out to discover any of the nearby interesting spots, or go for a walk or a bit of shopping through the modern, culturally rich metropolis that is Santa Cruz, the island´s capital city, with its museums, parks, department stores and walking streets full of exclusive and unique shops and boutiques, as well as the latest electronic items: all at a mere 15 minutes easy drive through the highway.
Come back to your apartment in lovely and quiet Candelaria, and take an easy walk along the ocean promenade to the old laid-back town, with its fishermen harbour, to the long black sand beach where the striking statues depicting the ancient aboriginal chiefs of the tribal people stand as silent watchmen along the plaza, with its iconic church: an ancient pilgrimage site for all the Canarian faithful people, devoted to the Virgin Mary.
Then chill out in your spacious and comfortable living room, after a relaxing evening stroll along the wooden-decked seaside avenue, overlooking a series of charming and secluded bathing spots, small coves and beaches of smooth black sand, set among intriguing volcanic lava formations. Here you may choose among safe and calm natural pools, carved by natural forces in the volcanic basaltic rock, or invigorating wave-swept beaches facing the deep blue ocean. You will feel both caressed and energized by the invisible, life-giving forces of sea and sun, as by our primal mother and father energies. Not surprisingly, the wooden decks scattered along the beaches are a favorite meeting place for some yoga and meditation groups, specially at the enchanting sunrise and sunset times, or even during the magical full moon nights, when you will be tempted to stay awake well into the night, maybe joining some of the locals for a moonlit swim in the quiet and sparkling waters.

The apartment is well connected, via the main highway, with the rest of the island away from the mass-tourism centers, yet enjoying the same privileged sunshine and crystal clear waters. There is a bus stop just in front of the building, in case you prefer to take advantage of the convenient and reliable public bus system. Free parking is easily found on the streets, if you decide to rent a car.
You will find a wide range of excellent shops, bakeries and supermarkets, all within easy walking distance of the building, as well as a shopping mall where you may also avail of the open-air farmer's market on the weekends, for a taste of our fresh local and organic products coming directly from the many small farms and gardens in the fertile Guimar valley, including freshly baked bread and cakes, our canarian goat's cheese and many other delicacies. In Candelaria, the old town, also a pleasant walk away, there is also another open market with some organic products, as well as the small booths where the fishermen families sell their fresh catch of the day, anything from octopus, squid, sardines, shrimp and many delicious fresh fish and seafood from the crystal clear waters you will see extending in front of you.
The quiet yet lively neighborhood also boasts a number of cafes, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes, most of them providing open wi-fi for their customers. But you will discover your own favorite places, all with more than affordable pricing and the excellent, friendly service for which canarian people are renowned. In fact you will probably save money just by staying here, rather than in your home country, and cooking your own meals with natural and fresh ingredients, and ocasionally indulging a lunch or dinner at the local relaxing restaurants and bars.
