“Hotel Villa Drake is a lovely small family run hotel at the top of the small town. The family are very friendly and happy to help, they cooked us a fresh breakfast every morning, even when we needed it at 5:20am. “My friend and I stayed here on this gorgeous mountaintop gorgeous location for 4 nights. The owners, Lori & Bobby were fantastic hosts welcoming us as we arrived and made us feel at home. Once there we upgraded to the main house with the pool and ocean view. Well worth it! You must have 4 wheel drive! “Clean modern room, best shower in Costa Rica at this pricepoint. Fast wifi with excellent coverage. No AC, but room is designed for that with large screens just below the ceiling and a big overhead fan. “Beautiful property, nice pool, air conditioning, access to fridge and kitchen. The wifi signal was very weak, tiny bathroom too small to get dressed in was a problem staying with three people. The hotel listing doesn't match the actual hotel. The hotel is located down a long rocky dirt road. It's a 15 or 20 minute walk to get food in the heat unless you have a car or take an uber. It would be nice to have access to food closer but mainly as a traveler without phone service in Costa Rica I needed……
