Only problem is they don’t serve dinner, but there are walkable options. Nice pool and spa but gym is very basic and in need of an upgrade. Rooms are really nice.

I stayed at this guest house recently and, unfortunately, had several disappointing issues during my stay. On the day of arrival, while we were downstairs for dinner after a long flight, the staff entered the room for turn-down service — and 1000 Rand went missing from my bag. Instead of taking the matter seriously, management simply offered me a drink as compensation, which felt dismissive and completely inadequate given the situation. To add to this, the air conditioning in the room was leaking, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. It’s a shame, because the property itself is quite lovely: peaceful, quiet, with a small spa and a nice pool area. The one truly exceptional part of my stay was the on-site hair salon, Roots — the people there are fantastic, and their service is outstanding. They were the highlight of the entire experience. Overall, while the setting is nice, the lack of proper security, poor handling of a theft incident, and room maintenance issues overshadowed what could have been a pleasant stay. I genuinely hope management takes these concerns seriously and makes meaningful improvements.

We had a beautiful room with a private pool. It was very big and comfortable. The pool and spa area was lovely and the food was excellent. It is in a quiet part of town, easy drive to everything, but not walkable. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend.

An absolute five star experience.

Beat all of our expectations, and they were pretty high from reading the reviews! Accommodation is brilliant and has all amenities we could wish for. Great breakfast and we tried the lunch here last day, also superb. But the by far best thing was the staff. We were made to feel super-welcome and got great recommendations for dinners, winetasting and trekking. I've had the pleasure of travelling to some amazing places, oftwn combining work with some holiday - from South america, all over Asia, the Hawai'i islands etc etc... And this was top three on that list. Absolute five star experience. First time I write a review in ages!

We lliked our stay here. the place is very nice and value for money is good. Description on Hotels.com is not updated and we were dissapointed to find only 1 and heated pool in our category of booking. Also washing machine and dryer is not in the rooms. Do not know if it is the owners description or hotels,com's description that is not up to date.

Previous reviews vary and it is fair to say the property is fairly dated and could do with some work, HOWEVER, the charm of the property and the exceptional service make up for this and more. We are well travelled and have stayed in some exceptional hotels around the world but the friendliness and especially the service was as good as any. After booking our three night stay, i asked if they could book a nice restaurant for our first night and albeit a busy friday they booked a table at the fat butcher which was excellent. They also provisionally booked restaurants for our other two nights, as a fallback. They recommended and then booked for us a superb private wine tasting with lunch. Although it is not particularly central in Stellenbosh, we found Uber no problem and cheap, except on one occasion when we found it difficult, however after a call from the restaurant, the hotel picked us up at no charge.. Even at breafast when i asked for something they didnt have, without asking someone went to the local shop and got it for me.. As I said,, the service was excellent. A really nice experience, the hotel itself not 5 star,, however the service was more than that and we would have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending it.. Thanks guys.

In a residential area. Not at all up to standard of a boutique hotel. Room was very hot, air on was not working properly and was leaking water. Balcony had knee high weed growing between the tiles. Very over rated and expensive . Grass uncut and unkept. Not a nice stay at all. Not good value at all

Disappointing stay

My stay was disappointing and a let down. I arrived at 2pm (check -in as stated on the booking), my room was not ready until 2.45pm. My room was up a flight of stairs - with no handrail - wall on one side and glass panels on the other. My error was not requesting a ground floor unit as I currently require a walking stick for support. It was 33 degrees outside, the aircon in my room was old and could not cool the room down. The labels on many of the light switches are peeling off or non existent. One of the bedside lights had no light bulb, the other bedside light came off the wall in my hand. The TV remote did not work (I'm sure it needs new batteries), so I could not turn it off at night. The Bathmats were worn through. The face cloths & shower mat were wet when I arrived. There were only 2 - 3pin plugs in the room - no 2 pin nor USB ports. The basin taps are connected incorrectly - red =cold, blue = hot. The restaurant closes at 4.30pm - no food available after then. Breakfast served from 7.30am. Grass cutting outside the room starts around 6.30am (no sleeping in). Apparently the guest house is up for sale, therefore no maintenance being done. I completed the maintenance request form in my room (no pen supplied), but not convinced it will be completed.

sehr schöne Hotelanlage

sehr schöne gepflegte Hotelanlage, schön dort im Grünen zu liegen. Leider war der Generator recht laut, was störend ist, ebenso die Stromabschaltung ab 22h gesamte Hotelanlage komplett finster. Man muss halt früher ins Bett. Frühstück gut, Bufett sehr übersichtlich

The service and staff are very pleasant and very accommodating. The breakfast is amazing - fresh and so many choices. Excellent coffee. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. The room was well appointed and quiet. Only downside, sauna wasn't working.

worst honeymoon stay

This was our second night of honeymoon. We stayed at another 5 star hotel on our first night and there really is no comparison. There was no honeymoon feel. We had the worst experience staying at this hotel. It is definitely not 5 star as advertised. The hotel is understaffed. We had to carry our own luggage, yet other guests were offered this service. Took ages to get service at the bar. Wifi didn’t work in the rooms. Property not as good as the pictures. Very disappointed won’t recommend and won’t stay here again.

Een warm welkom onder het genot van een cakje en thee. Super mooi ingerichte kamer. Helaas ivm regen geen gebruik kunnen maken van de mooi tuin. Ook heerlijk gegeten in het bijbehorende restaurant. Nog nooit zo'n uitgebreid ontbijt ontvangen. Komen hier graag nog eens terug.
