We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were superb - friendly & extremely professional at all times. Nothing was too much trouble! We will return for sure!
The accommodation is luxurious and beautiful. We certainly felt pampered and welcome. The special touches are numerous and the staff members are clearly trained to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Breakfast was extensive, served with a view of the lush garden which is filled with tropical plants and trees. Plants and greenery are found throughout the hotel which makes for a wonderful feel. The only minor issue was the non functioning TV, which they we aware of, but the technical support staff member was not available to attend to it during our stay.

Liked: Cleanliness
The property is undeniably beautiful, with immaculate gardens and elegant rooms that create a peaceful, luxurious atmosphere. Breakfast was wonderful each morning, fresh, generous, and thoughtfully prepared.
However, for the price paid, several service issues were disappointing. Communication from staff was slow, and a significant problem with the shower drainage resulted in water pooling on the bathroom floor. Despite raising the issue and receiving assurances it would be addressed, it was never properly resolved. Additionally, the heated floor was inexplicably left on in the middle of summer, making the room uncomfortably warm.
What was most surprising is that no gesture of compensation or acknowledgment was offered, even after these concerns were raised. For a property positioned at this level, one expects more attentive service and proactive management.Beautiful setting and lovely toucheS, but the service fell short of the standard the rate suggests.
I even recommended a few guest houses in the Western Cape that consistently deliver full‑rating experiences, places worth visiting to learn from and emulate. Their issues are entirely solvable, but service quality and responsiveness need meaningful upgrading.
What a fabulous hotel. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend this hotel. The perfect location to discover Cape Town and the surrounding area.

Full review is on trip advisor & 25 minutes of great videos showing the Flooding on their Facebook page.
Email via their website ahead of arrival 3 messages enquiring/ asking details.
Management No response.
Arrive as Honeymooners to a wilting rose & Welcome Mr & Mrs Garnett. (we are 2 men).
Management (a lady called Tess) was so laid back seemed like she was a guest there rather than a worker.
When I told her we had booked Simons as we had not heard back from them.
She basically dissed simons stating I have a booking at the Open Door a much better option, turned out it was closed on Sundays.
Night 3 at 10pm ceiling starts flooding water through light fittings.
Management gone home already!
Summoned only remaining staff Tom who arrives with 2 buckets & says will get it sorted in morning.
Insist he goes call someone as water now pouring in & down walls ( no rooms above ).
Another lady arrives immediately realises seriousness of situ.
Scrambles our belongings into our 2 cases and moves us.
Says will turn water off in morning.
Barely slept worrying about ongoing water & electrics.
This guest house boasts 5 stars & an exclusive in house chauffeur service.
We were asked if we wanted them to take us to dinner each night.
On leaving FULL 5 NIGHTS BILLED!
Plus £40 billed for taxi in house transfers to nearby restaurants.
Owner WHO LIVES NEXT DOOR! REFUSED TO COME & DISCUSS BUT ACTING MANAGER SAM RAN BACK & FORTH.
25 mins later paid in full.
The Last Time.
5 star , attention to detail
The Last Word Constantia really is the last word in luxury. When we arrived, we were greeted with coffee and cake and some excellent tips on what to see and do with children in the area. And then we were taken up to the Family Suite. What a fabulous suite of rooms, complete with mini bathrobes for children, a separate tv room with a Wii, two bathrooms and little toiletries so that our boys could enjoy a bubble bath. Thanks to Tess and her brilliant tips, we were able to visit a brilliant bird park as well as enjoy sushi and some excellent wine at a nearby winery. The staff were so kind and attentive during our stay, ensuring that we had everything that we needed and adjusting the breakfast menu to suit the tastes of two little ones.
This luxury boutique hotel is just down the road from some of the most famous vineyards in Constantia. It is just off the main road but you are not disturbed by it at all. Rooms are huge and have an open bathroom and all have a living area too. The best part is that all rooms face out to the most amazing garden with so many different species of plants and flowers. The pool area is a haven to admire them and relax. Breakfast has something for everyone. Free wi-fi and drinks.
