This is a fantastic place to stay, accessible only with a car, about 20 minutes from Carcassonne. Beautiful setting, comfortable modern room with lots of space and amenities. Amazing breakfast (best croissant I had in france), very accomodating staff.

We had booked a one night stay for the property's proximity to Carcassone airport. The room was lovely with kettle, teabags and fridge. If we had arrived at @ 4-5pm we would have enjoyed a relaxed walk around the Domaine and felt confident about driving back to Carcassone (30 mins) for an evening meal as we were told that there are no restaurants in any of the nearer villages. Unfortunately we were delayed and although we had phoned ahead to say that we wouldn't be arriving until 19.30 when we arrived there were no staff and we had to phone to find out how to access our room. We were at fault for not timing our journey better but we were surprised that this large Domaine had no residential staff. The only other pertinent comment we would make is that you need a good satnav to find it as the tracks to it are many, very narrow with very few passing places or opportunities to turn round.

MADDALENA

La struttura è immersa nel verde. È necessario avvertire con anticipo dell'orario di arrivo perché la proprietà non è sempre in loco. L'appartamento per 3 persone è spazioso e composto da una camera matrimoniale e una camera singola; il bagno è bello e dotato di ogni comfort anche se aveva il water sporco. In generale pulizie più accurate renderebbero gli interni perfetti. Dispone di una piccola ma graziosa piscina e di tanti piccoli spazi esterni. Purtroppo non è prevista la cena nel patio esterno, per cui bisogna necessariamente uscire e raggiungere Carcassonne, a 25' di distanza. Sono presenti asini e cavalli, ma non è chiaro se si possa prenotare una passeggiata a cavallo. La colazione nella norma, niente di particolare, qualcosa di salato (poco), baguettes, croissant e pain au chocolat. Anche qui qualcosa di fatto in casa sarebbe senz'altro un valore aggiunto.

Lovely hosts who have good recommendations and were very helpful and friendly throughout the stay. The hotel is very peaceful and relaxing, the rooms spacious, and breakfast was lovely. It is a little off the beaten track but that added to the charm for us. Would definitely return.

The property and vibe was very chill and easygoing. Simon gave us a little tour when we arrived and we immediately felt welcome. A great place for families, the pool was a big hit. We petted two cats and a horse and found a few lizards on hot rocks and my daughter chased grasshoppers. Beds were very comfortable and we all fell asleep to chirping crickets and a fresh breeze. The newly renovated bathroom in the family suite was gorgeous but could use a couple more hooks or towel hand towel holder. We all enjoyed staying here and wished we had more time at Domaine de la Fraisse!

Nice friendly stay in lovely location

Lovely place to stay. Our room was large and cool. Really lovely shower. Nice touch to have a fridge with a large bottle of water. Pool is small and quite a few bugs but it was refreshing. Plentiful breakfast.

Séjour parfait, les personnes de ce gîte sont très gentilles et serviables, la suite était très spacieuse avec 2 chambres, l'endroit est très calme en pleine campagne. Situé à 20 minutes de Carcassonne en voiture. Merci encore à tous le personnel!

Magique et reposant

Accueil remarquable, très professionnel et chaleureux. Le lieu est très reposant, la literie est de très bonne qualité et les chambres très spacieuses avec tout le confort adéquat. Mention spéciale pour les propriétaires qui mettent leur énergie au service de la clientèle. Une très belle découverte où nous ne manquerons pas de revenir si l’occasion se représente.

Todo muy bien. Un hotel muy tranquilo entre viñedos. Lo único es que las camas indiniduales las sentimos algo angostas y esta como a 20 min de la Cd amurallada pero el camino es un tramo entre viñedos de un solo carril el camino. Esto es muy bonito pero creo q sería recomendable no llegar muy obscuro. Aunque no se siente peligroso el lugar pero muy solo el canino para entrar.

Pour le repos cet endroit est parfait mais pour y accéder il faut le mériter car la route est très étroite. Les chambres sont très confortables mais attention à ceu qui ont peur des araignées car comme tout endroit sain et à la campagne nous ne sommes pas les seuls habitants. L'accueil est parfait même si le chemin qui dessert les chambres est cahotique.

Beautiful vineyard setting. We had delicious dinner at property. Farm to table fresh and delicious food and wine. The chef made a special vegetarian plate for our daughter. Rustic rooms but clean and comfy. Nice buffet breakfast included.

Peace and Quiet in Cathar country

Domaine de Fraisse is a great place if you like peace and quiet, comfort but not luxury, country walks, responsibly sourced food. In the winter the restaurant is shut and they only do breakfast - this may be a limiting factor for some but there are plenty of great restos in Nearby Carcassonne and Limoux and smaller bars in the nearby villages. A car is a necessity. The hotel is dog friendly and the staff all go that extra mule - we have stayed there 3 times.

Het voelt als thuiskomen.

Zeer aangename plaats om te verblijven, er heerst een fijne sfeer op het domein. Het personeel is zeer hulpvaardig op alle vlakken. Het is ook een interessante uitvalsbasis om de regio te ontdekken, Simon de manager geeft ook graag tips wat past bij je interesses.

Beautiful rural setting, a great easy getaway

Domaine de Fraisse is set in a beautiful rural location, but within easy access of Carcassonne airport. A real gem. Comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast (all organic but fuss free). The English proprietor and staff were all very helpful and recommended great things to do as we were too lazy to google everything or really prepare, and wanted experienced advice! We would definitely go back, hopefully at the edge of the season again as it was extra quiet and a lovely relaxing break. Would recommend hiring a car unless you a keen cyclist or motorcyclist.
