Lovely Place to Stay
My husband and I came to Chama to ride the train and we lucky to stay in this gem. The room was quiet and charming, filled with art and thoughtful amenities in the bedroom and bath. The hostess was friendly and helpful and the grounds lovely. We certainly hope to visit here again soon.

Lovely retreat for peace and quite.

We were in Chama to ride the Cumbres Toltec train & that was great! The VRBO room was only so so. There was too much furniture in the small room. Bed has footposts that are sticking out & hit you when you walk by, the windows are covered with ugly heavy curtains & blinds that don’t work, TV remotes must have had bad batteries. Only saw the owner once & she was on the phone & didn’t say anything to me except asking what room we were in. Property could be nice but needed a lot of upkeep attention. Glad we were only there 2 nights.

We were so happy we chose this location. Beautiful, enchanting property, room/bed was very comfy. Well equiped for a studio kitchen. The hosts are charming and helpful. You will not be disappointed.

Welcome stay after our train ride, the bed was really comfortable . Perfect for short stays. The bathroom sink is also the kitchen sink. Not a problem for us we didn’t do any cooking. Microwave was perfect for our needs.

The suite had everything we needed for a comfortable, relatively quick, stay in Chama to take the Chama to Antonito train. It was colorful and cozy, as described. Wr also enjoyed the beautiful fall colors.

This is a beautiful and cozy place to stay. The room has everything you need to spend a couple of days. The room was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Suhana is a sweet and warm host. She provided us with a homemade Canellovi,salad, and delicious bread for dinner. This place is highly recommend.

The Flickering Flame Inn has amenities that can not be found at a more urban setting. The owners make a camp fire in the back of the inn for the guest to sit around and enjoy. There is also a walking path along a wild stream very close to the inn. The first night we were there the hostess ( who is a great cook) made us a wonderful home cooked meal.

Long Weekend in Chama New Mexico
The property setting is quiet and restful, and the location was perfect for exploring the Chama and Brazos River valleys. My wife and I spent 3 nights at the property, and we would definitely stay here again.

Exceeding expectations!
From contact immediately after booking, to reaching out to inform us of internet issues throughout town(so were prepared on arrival) we could have not asked for more. Then we arrive to cabin, with a later than normal check in, and entry was effortless. The room exceeded expectations in every catagory. Definitely two thumbs up!
