"Absolutely wonderful ! We received such a warm welcome from Elena, Florent & little Leon and very soon felt like we were 'entre amis'. They looked after us so well, making sure we had everything we needed. The setting is gorgeous - Nature, wildlife and peace. "Le Chaussis is one of the best equipped self-catering houses we’ve ever stayed in and we’ve been to a great number in the last 45 years! Spotlessly clean, very comfortable accommodation, beds and bathrooms all a good size, beautiful kitchen/diner and wonderful sitting room with great wood burner. Celine, is a delightful and very proactive owner. The only thing I would say is that if you book through Vrbo, you have to deal with a number of other 3rd parties (Poplidays and Gites de France)...

"Another excellent stay at the hotel, the location is quite, plenty of parking available, we had a 5.5 metre van and were able to park it easily and safely. The room was a good sized and an opportunity to take the waters too. Staff friendly. Bagnoles has a number of good Restaurants but they eat early (19.00 to 19:30) booking. "

"We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is in a beautiful and quiet location. It is small, more like a restaurant with rooms and is very traditional in feel. It takes around 20-25 minutes to walk into the town of Mayenne along the river. Breakfast was good and we had dinner in the restaurant one night which was very good. Staff are polite and helpful. There is a small bar near to the reception area, although beer is expensive. It is a great place to sit outside with a drink, watching the wildlife on the river. The weather was hot when we stayed and being an older style property, there is no air conditioning or a fan. As it is such a quiet area, we were able to open the windows overnight. If visiting this area again, I would certainly stay here, although not in July or August, when it is likelier to be hotter than it was when we stayed"

"There was nobody on reception when we arrived on reception at approximately 3:30 p.m. We then realised that we had to pick a telephone up on the reception desk that rang somebody. A grumpy lady then came to check us in. The restaurant staff were lovely and helpful and the gentleman we paid was very helpful. The hotel is old and needs freshening up. It looks dirty and run down on the landings"
