Clean, homey, instantly feel comfortable. Beds were very comfortable and we really appreciated all the amenities. This was our second stay at the Canfield House, and will definitely stay again when visiting family in the area.
The house was perfect for what we needed. Check in was a breeze and the instructions for check out were clear making it very painless. The house itself is next to the square and close to all the amenities chardon has to offer.
Wonderful stay in Chardon! This home is in a great location. Walkable to the downtown square for coffee. And a short drive to many things to do in the area such as Holden Arboretum and the Penitentiary Glen Reserve. Communication was easy. The home was super clean! The host had wine and a cute gift basket and snacks. Would definitely recommend if staying in the area.

What a fun spot. Lots of character and local information. Comfortable beds and great communication.
This charming home was a perfect place for us to rest while visiting family for our niece and nephews graduation. Very kind owners, provided everything we needed and very communicative - appreciate all the history of the house and we appreciated the kindness shown with the fudge, and small goodie basket that provided any last minute things we forgot. We’d love to stay here again if we come back!
We had a fantastic stay! A cute house with a rich history and a convenient location, coffee or a bite to eat is within walking distance. Experiencing the tapping season and enjoying maple treats was a unique and delicious experience! We weren’t too far from local vineyards to visit during the ice wine festival. An enjoyable location and visit.
Michael was super responsive and very helpful. The house is beautiful, clean and spacious. The kids loved the pool table. Would definitely book again when we are back!
We loved our stay at the Canfield House! The house was lovely, a great location, and perfect for our group. Mike and Lisa are wonderful hosts! We appreciated the kind note and goodies that they left for us—including cookies and little toiletry gift bags for each of us. Definitely would stay again if in the area.

Perfect location for our needs (nearby family weekend gathering) and to quaint, historic Chardon Square.
House was nicely appointed with thoughtful, local treats!
Perfect communications & directions were clear and accurate. Would definitely book again.
The Canfield House was perfect for us because of its location just 5min from family we were there to visit as well as being so close to the sqare. It was very clean and there were plenty of local information phamplets provided. It’s good to note there is only one fill bathroom that is shared jack and jill style between the bedrooms, that worked for us, but others might find it awkward.
Everything was so well thought out! Our kids enjoyed the games, toys and books and my husband and I enjoyed everything else! The space was very clean with a lot of amenities and things to do. We appreciated all the lighting and night lights, which helped our toddler feel better about staying somewhere new. The welcome basket was unexpected but so nice! We would definitely stay again!
This home is beautiful and in a perfect location just off Chardon’s downtown square. The home has a lot to offer and had tons of toys and games for the younger children we had come visit us during our stay. Which kept them busy and having fun. We were a little nervous with the toddlers as there are lots of unique and beautiful decor within reach of little ones but thankfully we didn’t have any mishaps
We could not be more pleased with our stay at the Canfield House, the owners literally did not miss one detail. Not one - it has everything you could want for a wonderful stay. The house itself is fantastic and much bigger than we had expected. It was cozy, comfortable and clean to a fault. We were simply amazed by the attention to detail - from the wonderful selection of coffees and teas to the helpful information about the area. This house has it all. The house is also just a few feet from Chardon square, shops and great restaurants. I would give this house and this house 10 STARS. If you are looking for a place to stay in Chardon, look no further - Canfield House and its Hosts is the best of best. We will without a doubt be back!!!
The place was immaculately clean and very sylishly decorated. Plenty of parking plus a lovely outdoor area were much appreciated. There were luxurious touches like comfy robes, plenty of extra towels, fun snacks, and extra toiletries in case you forgot yours. The only reason I didnt give this 5 stars is because I would have gladly traded those little luxuries for a comfy bed. The queen bed in the large room was just ok, but a bit creaky according to the family members in that bedroom. My husband and I had the smaller room with the double bed. He couldnt sleep on it at all and ended up sleeping on the bottom bunk of the 3rd bedroom. I tolerated that bed for 1 night and then slept on the couch for the duration of the stay. It just wasnt supportive and was incredibly creaky. I was grateful we had other sleeping options. We would stay again (and happily pay more) if the mattresses were upgraded to modern ones instead of the creaky box springs.
Everything was lovely. The house is clean and much bigger than I expected. It was nicely decorated. We came from different areas and there is plenty of parking. We mostly used the house to sleep but a couple in our party partook of some of the games and a couple others the selection of movies. My only complaint is that after paying a cleaning fee, you have to strip the beds and take the linens down to the basement and take out the garbage before you leave. This is my first Vrbo so maybe it is standard practice but it made checking out a little more onerous. I wouldn't take away a star for it though because everything else was so great. I would definitely stay again.
Great location, super convenient to walk to plenty of places on the square. Really pleased with the parking availability too. The little snacks and toiletries were appreciated.
I have stayed many places, but The Canfield house, by far has the most charm and character. Chardon is a quaint town with many unique shops and eateries. Also a wonderful coffee shop. However, if you would like to stay in and relax with coffee, the hosts have quite the selection of coffee and teas to choose from. We went for a girls trip and we were welcomed with snacks, cookies and wine. The hosts absolutely thought of everything. They even had plenty of extra toiletry items in case you may have forgotten something. We truly appreciated the whole experience!
We stayed for 4 nights and the house is so cute and the location is fabulous. The gift basket, slippers/robes/body wash bags, and bottle of wine was such a nice surprise! Would stay there again!!
Chardon was a great central location to visit family and friends. The home was beautiful and comfortable. We loved walking the Town Square and checking out the Farmers Market Saturday morning.
The house was as described and in a great location for our visit to Chardon. Plenty of space, clean, and the pool table was a hit. Will stay here again!
