Bad Experience
We have stayed at over 15 VRBO’s in the past and this was by far, the worst we’ve ever stayed at. This is a VERY old house although the pics don’t look it. We had multiple issues: (1) The description said it has A/C, but it doesn’t work very well at all. It was only 68° outside and it would not get below 75° on the main floor at 10pm. The bedrooms are on the 2nd & 3rd floors and I can only guess it was 78° to 80+° . (2) We did not cook at all while there so we had no crumbs, etc. We saw TWO giant cockroaches in the kitchen. (3) The electrical outlets in the bathroom on the 3rd floor didn’t work. (4) Bring your own laundry soap if you want to use the washer (5) The pictures of the outside are not at all what this looks like. There are large, overgrown bushes which make parking difficult. Ended up having to pay $50 to park overnight down the street. I had the low rating on communication because although we received many text messages before and during our stay, I believe it was all AI driven. We contacted the owners on multiple phone numbers we had been texted from regarding the A/C problem and kept getting canned answers, but no problem solving. We did get a text the day we checked out saying they were sorry about the A/C and stating we had been texting the property management group which was not staffed at 10pm. However, I had also texted THAT number that was texting me right then stating they were sorry. They did refund 15% of our VRBO cost due to the A/C issue.

Great location for downtown
This house was great for our family to stay in while visiting Charlestown. It was clean, the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cookwear and utensils. Beds were all comfy. Washer and dryer worked well. We loved the location - it was a very short walk to a breakfast/bagel shop around the corner, as wrll as there were plenty of restaurants and shops just a few blocks away on King Street. The visitors center was also easy to walk to, and from there we'd catch the free downtown trolley to get to all the places the kids wanted to see. I will add that while there is an off street parking space (which was a great thing!), it was very tricky and difficult to get in and out of because we have a large vehicle since there's 7 of us (Expedition Max); I think the parking would be non-issue at all for a normal sized vehicle; it definitely would not accomodate a larger vehicle such as a passenger van, fyi. We would definitely stay there again!

Cute townhouse
This house was so cute and perfect for our girls trip! Great location in walking distance of nearly everything. Only downside is the parking is super tight. But room for 2 cars.

Awesome location!!
We had a great time! The location is hard to beat. It was an easy walk to everything. Great food, shopping, and sight seeing. The house was three stories with one huge bedroom and separate bathroom on the second story and two bedrooms with a bathroom on the third story. The third story got a little hot, but that is to be expected in an older home. Plus it was the middle of February so we had the heat going to heat the first and second floor. Overall, we were very pleased and would definitely return in the future!

Charming house in great location
We had a delightful stay in this cozy house. It was fully equipped with everything we could need and was a short walk to dining and shopping. My husband and adult children all gave me kudos for finding such a charming place to spend Christmas together.

This property is a roomy 3 bedroom house. The location is close enough to walk to some restaurants on King Street. Although most of the shopping, dining etc is further east. Access to everything is easy enough by car and Charleston has plenty of parking. If you want to head to Folly Beach or any of the Plantations access to the highways is close and easy enough. Bathrooms were clean, kitchen well stocked for what we needed. Good size refrigerator, Coffee maker worked well and there is an ice maker. Beds were getting a bit too soft for my taste although they were comfy.

Perfect location for King Street
The location was great, close enough to walk but not in the middle of chaos. Quiet and clean. It’s quite dated but well-appointed and well-stocked. The furniture and blankets/throw pillows could use a wash. The stairwell is a bit dangerous and needs more light. Overall the property is very nice.

Great location , loved the size but not clean.
It is a perfect spot in Charleston to stay, easy walk to King Street. Very spacious and very cute. However, the place was not very clean, dusty fans , sheets not clean , could use paint and some repairs , dishwasher didn’t work. The worst of it all was our first night there were many live palmetto bugs in our kitchen, we had to try to kill them on our own and they had no bug spray. After that we all felt very uncomfortable to sleep there and make breakfast there. They were crawling on the groceries we just bought and in the coffee pot. We did get $100 credit for our groceries , they sent an exterminator out the next day and re-cleaned the kitchen area but not the rest of the house and left us a container of bug spray. . From what we heard palmetto bugs are common in the south, however, if they know they have a problem, they should take care of it before they have guests come and stay . We then did find dead palmetto bugs a day or so later on the floors after exterminator came. If I can make a suggestion they should clean out their closets put hangers in there for people to hang their clothes, tidy up the closets for guests and make repairs and paint the place. Put curtains or doors on closets . There was a rotten egg smell in the evenings as well and very strong in the small bedroom that guest had to sleep in other bedroom . That room had stained pillowcases , hair in sheets and stains on sheets . We didn’t use that room at all and paid for a three bedroom. We requested to be moved but they didn’t honor that as they said they couldn’t. We would’ve expected a bit more of a refund for our troubles , however, we did stick it out and stay there for the rest of the week. Thankfully , we had full days out and about in Charleston so only came home to sleep.

This house was perfect for us. Cleanliness I gave a 4 because I suggest all doors to be wiped down.
Doors had dirt by all knobs. And some of the pots and pans still had food on them. All in all this house is at a super location.

Perfect for a birthday weekend!
I had multiple friends fly in to visit for my birthday weekend and this home was absolutely perfect for us. It was extremely comfortably, but there was enough space for all of us. The home was very clean and we had no issues during our stay!

Great location but property needs updating. Lights don’t work in the family room and we had to wash bed skirts because they were filthy when we arrived. The AC/heating unit shut off repeatedly and it was a very cold weekend and we were u able to hear the house to above 60 degrees Great location but wish the property was better maintained.

Very difficult booking/checkin process
The booking/check-in process was difficult and upsetting. This property is managed by Vacasa. When booking (days in advance) I first received a text message saying that Vacasa needed to complete an identity confirmation in addition to the VRBO booking procedure to confirm the booking. Within a minute I received another text stating I was confirmed, paid and everything was good for the booking. Fast forward to one hour prior to check-in, I repeatedly had to ask for the code to check into the house. Then I received another text from Vacasa stating they still needed to do an identity confirmation prior to confirming the booking. My family and I were in our car, hours from our home, and ready to start our vacation. I was told at the last minute that the reservation is not confirmed. I was frantic and called Vacasa immediately. The first individual I spoke with was "unable to confirm my identity." She could not explain why, explain the process, or tell me what the issue was. She simply said, as my entire family was in the car waiting to check-in and begin our vacation, "I am going to have to cancel your reservation. " Like it was no big deal. I am in tears at this point and had to insist/demand to speak to someone else. A second employee of Vacasa came on the line (after my holding for almost 20 minutes) and was able to then confirm my identity and the booking finally went through. The house is located in a nice area and within walking distance of everything downtown. Lots of nearby restaurants. The house could have been cleaner. Large (dead thankfully) bugs in the downstairs living room. The last night we were there there was a big rain/wind storm. The shutters on the outside of the house are old and not properly secured. They slammed all night long. The two bedrooms on the third floor were so poorly insulated that the wind came through the windows all night and literally rattled the bedroom doors. No one slept due to all of the noise. I would never recommend renting a house managed by Vacasa. It is not worth the upset.

It is normally a simple process and we apologize for any miscommunication prior to arrival. We treat our home frequently with professional pest control. The bugs that you found dead may have crossed the pest control line and died soon after. We are sorry for any concerns with the shutters. The storm that came in during that time is not normal for this area and it caused the shutters to come loose. We have made repairs. We would love to host you again in the future.

Number 4 Tully Ally was more than we expected! Great kitchen & living room nicely decorated bedrooms and bathrooms comfortable a nice clean home ! Love to stay there again! Stayed at other houses in area over the last few years this house tops them all! Parking was a little tight but it worked!

Amazing Location & Perfect Girls Getaway!
This house was perfect for our girls getaway that we used this house for. One block from Kings Street, a safe neighborhood, and that Charleston feel...it was perfect. Everything was clean, the communication was great. I do have two recommendations: 1) there needs to be a lot more light provided in the common room upon entry. It was so dark! 2) the shower door on the 3rd floor is SUPER loud and pretty outdated. Other than these two things, we really could not have chosen a better house. THANK YOU!

Terrific base for exploring Charleston
The house itself is smallish, but the bedrooms and the living room are good-sized and well-appointed. Parking is a little bit of an adventure, and I wouldn't recommend trying to fit a big SUV or minivan in there, but having a private spot in this area is rare and valuable. You're one block off King Street, which is the main dining and shopping strip, but you are a good ways (~20 min walk) from the historic district. We didn't mind, but some may wish to be a bit closer to that end of town. One thing we didn't anticipate is just how many students from the College of Charleston reside in the neighborhood. We saw them throughout the week, and there were no real issues until Friday night came around and the cool night resulted in some big outdoor parties in some nearby houses/apartments. Not a huge deal, but just realize you're in a city, and don't come in expecting total peace and quiet.

Needs some work
An older house can be charming but this house needs updating in bedding and furnishings. Can’t believe there was hardly any supply of tp, no paper towels and basics. Hair dryers obsolete. Mishmash of hangers in a makeshift closet in master. C’mon, splurge on the little things! Also need to disclose the amount of little stairs on each floor. We were disappointed for the price.

The house is not as bright as the pictures suggest or as spacious, but once all the shutters are open, it helps a lot, and it is cozy and clean. The location is good too. I hate having to say this but as a guest, I would like to know: We saw a few roaches crawling around the second floor bedroom and the in the living room. We were not happy about this to say the least. The place needs to be fumigated and the owner needs to assure guests this will not happen going forward.
