What I did like about this property was the “set up” of the inside. It’s just different. And I mean that with that being the only good thing about the place. Now where do I start with what I didn’t like? Well they charge $250 fee if you’re paying cash and live within a 40 mile radius… but $150 if you live outside the 40 mile zone (resident/non-resident) What else… the staff.. I’d have to say the only somewhat friendly person was the young female who works in the morning. I was given the option to see the room….before I unloaded my things and as soon as i opened the door it smelt like straight up marijuana and mind you they have a “no smoking” policy and supposedly smoke alarms that don’t even work. Next, the front desk gave my room number out to someone who should not have been given out that information.. I did not give them permission rather I called 30 minutes prior and asked that they DO NOT GIVE OUT MY ROOM # and they said oh no we don’t do that. But when i made a big deal about it they got mad @ me like it was my fault. Instead of offering me a different room for my safety for the night they actually came and knocked on my door after calling 4 times back to back and told me if this crazy dude comes back again he’s going to have to kick me out for causing a disturbance at his place of business. Very unprofessional, they did not handle the situation well at all instead I felt scared for my life and nobody or nothing could change that. Which is very unfortunate

I can only speak to our experience in the extra building on the property where you enter rooms from the outside. I don't know how the main building is. The first room we stayed in, the door wouldn't even open. You had to literally shove the door hard in order to get into the room. We asked for a new room. The new room ended up having a leak from the ceiling. We stayed one night and checked out the next day. This property is very old and rundown. I would not recommend it.

Check in process was easy. Two folks checking in were amazing. I highly recommend doing the pre-check in. Several items broken in the room. All in the bathroom. Shower head squirting water out the side, spigot coming out of the wall, and TP holder was broken. Everything else was great. What I don’t like is charging people to park. My wife and I stay here a lot and this is new. Not cool to charge people to park.

When I made this reservation I specifically requested a room as close to the check in area as I am on oxygen 24 hours can't walk long distance only to find out they had placed me in a different building. i requested a room change which they informed me there would be a upcharge of $30. i had no other choice but to pay this upcharge or spend a few hours walking to the assigned room. Such a wonderful way to treat a handicapped person. Upon waking the next morning the entire floor was wet from the air conditioner, can you imagine the site of me waling around in my underwear with tennis shoes on. needless to say my spending another stay a LaQuinta would probably not happen.

We were happy to be in a quiet area by the marina. Our room was on the fourth floor and we had a view of the water Marsh land. It was such a nice spot. However, the breakfast was not very tasty and the eggs were too salty so we passed on breakfast. It was conveniently close to Charleston. Although not walkable to there we had to drive.

The staff was unfriendly we asked for our room to be refreshed with clean sheets and towels. My husband had to go get the towels and sheets from the laundry room, and we changed our own sheets.
