This hotel is special! The valet parked our car (there’s no self park option) and the concierge greeted us warmly and checked us in. They offer so many complementary foods and drinks, including a welcoming cocktail, ice teas with optional flavored syrups and dried lemon, and a candy station. In the room, all snacks and drinks are complimentary. The room itself was large, beautiful and very comfortable. The bathroom had double sinks, and was also clean and spacious. We took advantage of everything, including sitting in the lounge area sipping our tea. This hotel was one of the highlights of our trip! And of course Charleston is such a special place! Highly recommend this hotel.

We loved the Loutrel. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The room was quite, super spacious and comfortable. They have lots of little amenities like snacks, beverages that are free. Location is fantastic also...walking distance to everything downtown. Would highly recommend!

From the staff to the accommodations, The Loutrell was impeccable in every way. We cannot recommend this property highly enough. Given our experience, I'm somewhat surprised it merits "only" a four-star rating. The front desk staff was especially outstanding. We stayed on Christmas night. Absolutely wonderful. From the warm greeting with a complimentary cocktail, to the spotless room and tasty treats for us to indulge in. The welcoming note and thoughtful little gift were a pleasant surprise. Their small lounge was open and the service was superior as well as the decor. European breakfast was excellent. The hot food was cooked to perfection, the selection of fruits and pastries was outstanding. We left that morning with happy tummies to say the least. Valet service was speedy and attentive. I will absolutely stay there again. Best Christmas ever!!!

This by far one of the best experiences we have had in an American hotel. From the minute we arrived the staff made it special. Every detail was unique and above and beyond. From the arrival drink to the complimentary room snacks, the impeccable housekeeping staff, experienced and knowledgeable bell staff- it was all perfect. The Loutrel is a beautiful, small hotel in downtown Charleston where all the little touches make it feel great to be there … beautiful wine glasses in the bar, Dyson hairdryers in the rooms, complimentary drinks, quality snacks in the room, amazing beds .. I could go on and on, refinements at every step (not what you get in 95% + American Hotels) … beautiful calm reception area which doubles as a breakfast area (simple breakfast but high quality)

Wonderful stay at The Loutrel. Perfect location just off the main drag but walking distance from everything. Room was spacious and really nice, staff friendly and professional, and the rooftop deck was AMAZING. The musician playing up there for sunset happy hour was a highlight of the trip. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Perfect Stay! Every detail of our stay was truly perfect from start to finish! Leah and Riley were the most welcoming and friendly bartenders—we instantly felt at home, and their energy made every visit to the bar a blast. The hotel’s amazing rooftop happy hour was the icing on the cake: fabulous drinks, stunning views, and the perfect spot to unwind. The location is ideal—tucked just off the beaten path so it’s peaceful and quiet, yet still walking distance to everything. Rafael Abren was incredible as well; he greeted us with a warm smile and gave us a simple, thoughtful tour of the mezzanine and our room. His attention to detail and genuine hospitality set the tone for the whole stay. Everyone we encountered was wonderful. This is hospitality at its finest, and we can’t wait to come back!
