  • You can step back in time with this historic log cabin. Built in the 1800s with native logs, this cabin offers an authentic Smoky Mountain experience. Although rustic charm abounds in this cabin, it is furnished with modern amenities. If you’re an avid angler, you will love the location of this cabin, walking distance to the Oconaluftee River. Downtown Cherokee & Great Smoky Mountain National Parks is just minutes from the cabin. Make your Smoky Mountain vacation memories here at Cabin in the Pines.

    Location: Cherokee, NC- All Vehicle accessible, including motorcycles.
    o 15 minutes to Bryson City
    o Less than 10 minutes to Cherokee’s Harrah Casino
    o 15 minutes to Great Smoky Mountain Railroad
    o 40 minutes to Nantahala Outdoor Center
    o 1 hour 30 minutes from Gatlinburg
    o 1 hour 30 minutes from Asheville

    Amenities Provided: Cabins include basic linens, kitchenware, and a starter supply of paper products and toiletries. Guests are responsible for additional supplies.

    Other Things to Note:
    o Minimum Age: Minimum age to rent is 25
    o Pet Policy: This cabin is pet friendly. We do charge a $75 (non-refundable) pet fee, per pet.
    o Wi-Fi: This cabin does not offer Wi-Fi, making it ideal for an off-the-grid getaway. Cell service varies by carrier, but complimentary Wi-Fi is always available in downtown Bryson City and at the Yellow Rose office.
    o Concierge Services: Grocery delivery, celebration packages, early check in/late check out. Additional fees apply. Based on availability and cleaning schedule.

Great little cabin

My wife and I got away for just a few days of time together here away from our kids and the bustle of daily life. Great place to stay and we hope to come back!

Historic Cabin Stay

This is a very unique property. I loved the history of the place and this was the only time I've ever stayed in an 1800's log cabin. We loved fishing on the river and seeing the elk, bear, and turkeys. Cherokee is a very neat place with so much history and nature. Loved it!

Peaceful

The property was very peaceful and clean. Quite surroundings yet close to everything. Carpet is not in good shape but that did not bother us. It was clean just has bad places..we loved it. So cozy and neat. We will stay here everytime we come if possible. Communication with property manager was outstanding. Highly recommend.

Hunting/fishing cabin conditions

Old and musty couch, Bat and mice in cabin; bathtub drain nearly plugged, mismatched pots and serving plates— fuses needed to be turned on to get heat. Plenty of nice quilts to stay warm. Anticipated low standards at price, but simple attention would correct many issues.

Definitely could use updating the heating systems and some major sealing of windows, doors, etc. Was not too unexpected but I could see where some would hate it. A true flea bag place

This place had cob webs everywhere, not clean at all and infested with fleas. And a dirty toilet, a shower fit for a 4ft person and the added hand held was just that a hand held. The carpet is stained.

Disappointing

The cabin needs to be updated. Heat was wall heaters near baseboard and in walls. One in living room did not work at all. One in bedroom’s knob was missing. Cobwebs everywhere, fireplace smell was overwhelming. Upstairs loft bedroom had cobwebs that have been there very long time with a hole in the floor that you could fall through if not watching where walking or in dark. We stayed one night out of two and came home as we were very uncomfortable in the cabin. The maintenance man was great and appreciated him going the extra mile for us to get heat.

Really enjoyed our time. These are some issues we found

Coffee pot had molded filter from coffee grounds being left in it. Could have been cleaner. The mat in the bathtub felt very unclean. We purchased a new one. It felt MUCH BETTER. Also purchased a new bath mat for the floor. I hope these purchases were OK. We left them there. I don't know if you knew it but the refrigerator ran at least 90% of the time, it worked well, kept things cold. The building is in need of repair. Eaves are rotting, bedroom floor is sinking on left side of the bed. Against the wall. This is our assessment -- we would stay there again.

Been staying here 50 yrs now and First real problem. Firewood $60 1/2 cord. Apparently nobody knows just what a cord is . A cord is 4 ft high 4ft EIDE & 8 ft long this wood was 3 ft high x4 ft x15 inches.... But location is great cabins ARE rustic but before heaters ALL WORKED. WE SURVIVED AND a normal stay became an adventure to stay warm.Cabins have always been clean. Just need some work on heaters.

Could have been better, so much potential

My husband & I stayed in this cabin on Oct. 12-15. We were a little disappointed! Outside of the cabin is so cute, except for a few cobwebs & chairs we didn’t dare sit on. Once we stepped inside there was a definite strong musty smell! Thank goodness I brought my diffuser & immediately put it to work & it stayed on for our entire stay. The kitchen was adequate, we cooked breakfast every morning & had our coffee. The cabin needs updated, new furniture BADLEY! The bed creaked at every turn! The sofa was so uncomfortable my husband wouldn’t even sit on it! He was more comfortable in a chair!The bathroom was a great size, but the shower was a joke! You have to be 4 foot tall or shorter to get under the shower head, therefore it had a handheld shower nozzle too! The entire place needs a deep cleaning! Dust & cobwebs everywhere, powerful musty smell! Like I said in the title, this place has SO MUCH POTENTIAL! With a little TLC it could be a great place! We were so excited to be staying in an 1800s cabin, but unfortunately we we will not be back! I would not recommend this cabin.

Very dirty and the mold and mildew smell be prepared

Reviewer Comments: Disappointed sence I got here the worst is the mold and mildew smell and sight than all the worms everywhere spiders and webs in every door and a live wasp in thw bathroom and there is this camera pointed right at the cabin we rented i am so sixk right now this is awfull just woke from the crappiest night my throat is so sore now from. Breathing in mold all night bed is God awfull u r sleeping on springs . No fire wood no usable grill so travelers uvhave to bring everything and the cook wear is ver poor quality. I'm just so dressed now can't afford a different hotel . Paid 650 for this and 225 $ of it is a cleaning deposit hahah this place hasn't been. Cleaned in months. So happy birthday to me and very stupid couple get away. Wont even dare to use aminitied like grill fire pit fire place ac or heater . Also fridge is taking a **** its so loud no light the could is well over 50 years old cant evn cuddle and watch tv. And above the tv is nothing but mildew from a very gross ac unit No smart tv either Cabin in the pines unit 4

The location was very good for activities in Cherokee.I do think that the stairs need to have some direct lighting on them as they are deep steps and curve at the bottom. Doesn’t take much to use a broom to remove cobwebs from porch decorations. Inside carpet was filthy, kitchen table sticky and floor coming up and full of bugs, large spiders in LR, Bedroom had more of same and a sidewinder worm in carpet, bathroom somewhat clean w/flooring again coming up and cobwebs and spider nests w/spiders and other critters. Closet was not fit for clothes due to dirt,dust, etc. and dirty vacuum stored. I don’t believe it had been cleaned. We feel like it had not been inspected in a long time. My grandparents lived on a farm and would have never had guests see or stay in such a mess. Returns to Cherokee will happen but not to cabin #4. Pictures are available if you would like to see and we left no dog hair from my ESA.
