"We were going to an evening event at Stratford Hall (about 25 min away). There is so much history in the area. Beautiful spot on the river. The screened in porch was the bomb! Huge. So relaxing. Well stocked. Easy check out. Do pay attention to room configuration. The bedroom with twins was a loft like area but had the nicer bathroom. We used the kayaks. Had everything we needed. Host communication was great despite Vrbo platform was a challenge."

"The place was large and clean. The rooms are very comfortable. The TVs worked very well. The staff was friendly. The beds were comfortable. The pool was great. The weight room was wonderful and they gave you a large full hot breakfast. One of the best hotels I stayed in for a long time."

"This hotel smells brand new. The staff was friendly. The rooms were very clean. Breakfast offerings were well stocked and maintained. Janelle, in particular, stood out as a gentleman needed help putting together breakfast for his wife who couldn't come down due to feeling ill. She found a way to make up a breakfast for him to take up. Also, the snack bar was the best one I've seen in a hotel, making it easy to grab a snack or a beverage without having to fight a vending machine or stop at a convenience store. I will definitely stay at another Avid the next time I travel if one is nearby!"

"We had a truly wonderful stay at this house. The location is fantastic, and the home itself is extremely well equipped for comfortable living. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need—every type of dish, plenty of cookware, and even those little essentials you often forget to pack. There were more than enough blankets, sheets, and towels for everyone, which we really appreciated.One surprise bonus that made our trip extra special was the ability to use the crab pots. It was such an exciting activity for both us and the kids. Placing the pots in the water, checking them later, and then cooking fresh blue crabs together created some of our favorite memories from the trip. We had so much fun with that.Our host, Pete, was also excellent—always quick to respond and very helpful with any questions we had.The only concern during our stay was the temperature inside the house. At times, the living room was warmer than outside, and we were unable to use the second floor because it stayed too hot. We would just suggest future guests be mindful of the time of year they visit, as the AC system doesn’t seem to cool the house evenly.Overall, we had a great time and truly enjoyed our stay. The house is wonderful, well stocked, and in a perfect location—just keep the indoor temperature in mind depending on the season."

"What a great property! This is one of our favorite properties we have stayed at. The home was clean, comfortable, and had gorgeous views. We went down to the beach every day with our dogs and sat on the porch each morning with our coffee! Our host was very communicative and answered any questions we had! We hope to come back and stay again!"
