Lovely location, everything was perfect and especially enjoyed the log fire on the winter evenings and would book again.

Lovely cottage in great location
Cottage was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Kitchen was well equipped and bed very comfy. Nice garden. Pub opposite was great - lovely views and great food. Easy access to local towns and good walks from the door.

A brilliant comfortable stay in a perfect Cotswolds location
This property was excellent and a perfect place for peace and quiet. It's close enough to all the main areas we wanted to visit in the Cotswolds. The property was very well equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The water feature in the garden was a very nice bonus !
We will definitely stay here again!

Great stay in a great location
Wonderful cottage, very spacious for two. Nice little village well situated for exploration of the Cotswolds. Check in and instructions were clear. Gastropub across the street is a nice touch :)

Getaway
My husband and I went to Crofters Barn for the first time. Lovely relaxing getaway for a few days. Good location to visit Bourton on Water, Stow-on-Wold and other locations if you have time. Lots of good walks as well.

Lovely cottage holiday
Lovely property, excellent location. A shame most of the kitchen cupboards were locked leaving only one cupboard for you to store your own shopping. Everything is there that you could possibly need and would recommend this property for a great stay in the cotswolds.

Clean and tidy. Comfy bed. Good shower. Easy to find. The downside was the pub opposite was closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Crofters Barn review
We enjoyed our stay very much at Crofters Barn. It was comfortable, clean and an ideal location for exploring the Cotswolds. However, this is our fourth visit to the Cotswolds and the only place where we have not received a welcome pack. A few essentials like milk, bread etc would have been nice after a long day travelling. The only other thing was that the windows in the sunroom could have done with a clean. However, we would have no reservations in returning to Crofters Barn or recommending it to others.
We would definitely stay at this property again. It was spacious, well lit, and clean. The bed was comfortable, and views were really nice. The communication with the property manager was not superb when we arrived, but there was an emergency contact available who got back to us relatively quickly.

Great cottage and well placed to discover the cotswolds
Was worried about some previous reviews regarding cleanliness, but the place was spotless when we arrived. Sofas were comfy and it was nice that pets aren't allowed as you didn't get that 'old dog' smell that you do in some cottages.
Would highly recommend, but you do need a car to explore. Nice a quiet. Only downside was the lack if channels on the TV - we assumed there would be freeview (so BBCiPlayer at least), but it was just tv channels, so that was a bit disappointing.
All in all a lovely stay though.

Perfect Cotswold location
The Crofters Barn was a perfect location to visit the Cotswols. Cheltenham, Chipping Norton, Stowe, and even Bath were all within striking distance. The cottage is of high quality. Wood burner excellent and kindling etc provided - enough logs for two evenings. TV could do with an update. Would we return - yes. Big bonus was the Feathered Nest dining pub over the road. They even gave us wood for the woodburner on our last night! Terrific break.

Lovely location
In general the property was good but required a bit of attention to detail in particular the windows which were very dirty.
Bed linen and towels a bit tired and a bed throw which looked tatty and unclean.
No soap at all in the bathroom so it was a good job we took our own.
The Welcome Pack consisted of 2 x packs of cheap biscuits and some milk !
We have stayed in many many cottages ( including one of yours at Christmas which was excellent in Charlbury ) and have come to expect certain standards for this sort of price and sadly this one did not come up to the mark.

Adorable Hideaway!
We just returned from 5 days at Crofter's Barn. What a perfect Cotswolds retreat! It is cozy, not cramped, tucked in with the other pretty homes in quiet Nether Westcote. We had a fire each night after walking for miles. The location is ideal for exploring other towns including Stonehenge (an hour and a half but worth it) The Feathered Nest Inn is right across the street for a cocktail or dinner - although we cooked in as well. Everything you need is in house. Our lone complaint was our inability to contact the local housekeeper Debbie by either phone, text or email. Fortunately, Bolthole Retreats was very responsive to our needs when we could not reach Debbie.

4 night stay in November
My girlfriend and I stayed here for four nights in November 24. The property is spacious and perfect for a couple. The temperature was chilly and the wood burner was excellent. It felt very cosy throughout. The kitchen was pretty well equipped. Perhaps there could be a few more cup and glass choices but it was largely well catered for. Filter coffee was possible! The bed is a hard bed and that was the only matter that bothered me really. My girlfriend prefers it that way so was happier. The location is good, with a few walks from the door - there is a handy walking guide left for use. The circular walks are well worth doing and try and get into as many pubs as you can. All were excellent. The Feathered Nest is expensive across the road but the food was delicious and atmosphere friendly. Whilst it has a pub bit there is no noise from it. Thoroughly recommend.
Ive stayed in a few bolthole properties and quite dissappointed with this one.
Entrance needs to be wider. We had someone parking opposite the drive - making it hard to get in. Kitchen seem to have more cupboards locked up than able to use. Which made the layout odd. Only 1 log and 1 fire lighter left for the wood burner which seems very petty! Even more so when by the front door theres a log pile (locked up) with all the glass and not much furniture (pics are done to look cozy) the space is very cold! So we wouldve appreciated being able to use the wood burner properly. And also found it odd not to have a guest book! We always enjoy reading them, and finding out the places other reccommend… maybe this is a north england thjng?

Another excellent stay at Crofter's Barn
This was our third visit to Crofter's Barn. It is perfectly located for our needs and we always find it presented in excellent condition. Usually the weather is much warmer than this summer, and as a result we always pack our own loungers so we can sit out in the garden. If your visit coincides with a spell of good weather, and you do wish to sit out, we would recommend you do the same as us.
We are keen walkers and there are lots of trails in the area, many of which you can do directly from the front door. Most include a welcome refreshment break half way around. Many of the area's attractions are only a short drive away too and we have visited many locations over the years. Stow can get too busy on a weekend however, with parking near impossible. The train station at Kingham is only a short drive away and can get you to Oxford and onto London for those who want to venture further afield. Book tickets to London as far in advance as possible, to get the best deal and always (always) book seats too.
It's a lovely spot and we will no doubt return for further visits. We have no hesitation in recommending Crofter's Barn which if it does nothing else, will let you brush up on your "reversing through a gate" skills!

Wonderful Cotswolds break
We loved Crofters barn, it had everything we required and more, all of a high quality, would recommend
The property did not disappoint, from the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and at home. Beautifully decorated and in such a peaceful location. Only 15 mins from all major places to visit! The only suggestion I would make is to fit a bath, shower is big and really good but there is space for a bath under the skylight
This wonderful cottage was exactly as described. Absolutely perfect for a child free weekend away in the Cotswolds. Just being a stone’s throw from the fantastic Feathered Nest country pub was the icing on the cake, we will definitely be booking again.
What a lovely place. Great location, and a very quiet area. The property was exactly as advertised. Would definitely stay there again - highly recommended. And 5 Stars to Bolthole Retreats - they are great to work with.
Fantastic base for exploring the Cotswolds and exactly as described. Private garden and ample parking meant this was a stress free stay. Local shops are a drive away so take essentials or organise a delivery as I did. Excellent pub metres away which is on the expensive side but well worth a visit (The Feathered Nest). Just perfect for relaxing in the evening.
