Our room was amazing. We enjoyed the whirlpool and large shower with bench. The beds were extremely comfortable, but our absolute favorite part of the room was the view from our balcony. We had the furthest room away and loved sitting on the balcony of the Dubloon, listening to the waves hit the shore. Extremely relaxing! The only negative we had with the Bucaneer is the service at the Terrace. The wait staff was extremely slow and the one dinner that we had reserved, we actually ended up leaving before we had a chance to order dinner. Also 20% gratuity was already added onto our tab, so I was pretty upset with having to pay our waitress $10 for 2 drinks after being made to wait 30 minutes for my boyfriend's planned birthday dinner. The rest of the staff was amazing, though. We always had quick transport from our room up to the main area for breakfast.

The only downside of our visit was having room 101 which was outside the main lobby. In the morning there were hotel workers with blowers and such cleaning up the area outside our room. Every so often guest would congregate outside our room and chat (loudly at times) in the courtyard outside the main lobby. The included breakfast was great!! The beach drinks/food outside the Mermaid restaurant were also very good. The staff was very attentive!!

Our second visit to the Buccaneer and it was as nice this time as the first. The breakfast buffet is excellent with something for everyone. One of our favorite getaways….we will definitely be back!

I’ve traveled to various European destinations in Mexico and South America, but I’ve never encountered a five-star hotel with such a poorly maintained system. The patio was littered with discarded boards, and the shower leaked. The housekeeping left dirty towels in the rooms, and there were even dead roaches on the floor. My children had bites on their arms and legs when they woke up in the morning, which I suspect were bed bugs. I called the hotel and notified the front desk as soon as I left the resort to prevent future guests from being exposed to the same problem. Unfortunately, the management never returned my call. To make matters worse, several female staff members in the restaurant and bar by the beach were extremely rude. Clearly not worth the money spent.

There's nothing not to like at the Buccaneer Hotel. It's a beautiful property with three great restaurants, boutique shops, first rate tennis and golf programs,and a beautiful Caribbean beach. Highly recommend.

It was a beautiful and lovely resort. Extremely clean with breathtaking views. The breakfast buffet that was included was also very good. All staff extremely kind and helpful. We enjoyed the beach, pool, golf and the spa.

Clean room, nice property, best beach on the island IMO. Drinks and food were WAY over priced! $24 for 1 Painkiller in a plastic cup, $36 for a 12” pizza!
Great view, very private balcony but… there was a generator or water filtration system motor running 24/7. Couldn’t hear it in the room but always on the balcony

The Buccaneer was fine. Not great, but fine. We reserved a "Family Cottage" - good layout - king bed for parents, and a second bedroom with two singles for the kids. Unfortunately we were put in room 164, which had not been renovated and was in very, very shabby condition - ripped hook holes in doors, chipped furniture, wires hanging everywhere - just really bad value for what we were paying. We asked to be moved and were told that a different family cottage would be available after our first two nights. We eventually moved to Family cottage 170, which had been renovated and was beautiful. Basically if you are renting one of these, call the property and ask to be a in a renovated version. On the plus side - the beach was great - clean, well-staffed, easy use of kayaks and paddleboards - just great, and this is where we spent all our time. Similar to other reviews, the food is both overpriced and frankly not very good (which is a tough combination....). After a bad first dinner on property, we went off-property for most meals except for the breakfast (which again, was fine - not excellent but cetainly not bad). We rented a car, which seems very necessary if you want to explore and eat off proporty. There were some great places to eat as a family - GOAT Soup and Whiskey was amazing and great value, Ziggy's (which is a gas station with a kitchen and a bar) had great lunches, Run Runners in Christiansted was great for dinner. Buck Island tour was a big highlight

Part of the ocean was visible. However was .5 miles away from the hotel. Not a big deal. The pool? My pool is twice as the one hotel has. Small unattended dirty. Did i mention small? Could fit 10 people shoulder to shoulder.

Very steep hill from oceanfront room (Mermaid beach) to big house where terrace restaurant is. I could not walk up there due to back issues, but staff would pick me up in shuttle van. Beautiful property. More choices for dining would have been good- only one restaurant open for dinner each night.
