A family celebration

We had a lovely few days despite some damp weather. The hot tub was a hit as was the house. Well equipped for every eventuality the kitchen enabled us to prepare food for 10 people with ease. Bedrooms were comfortable and each had an en suite which was great for our large party.

The accommodation was exactly what we hoped for, very clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. Liked the spacious kitchen and dining room. Nice site location and good views of the lake form the property. Unfortunately quite a lot of road noise when outside at certain times of the day. Booking through Orion holidays was easy and gave the best price. Thank you for letting us know the property check in time was available slightly earlier.

Excellent Stay

We booked a 3 night stay in July for a family get together and it was a great choice. The facilities were great and the property had everything we could have wished for. It was very clean and well appointed throughout. We were 7 adults and 2 children and the property coped easily with our number. The outlook onto the lake provided a great setting.

Family holiday

This was the second time at this house already booked for next year. Have been to Windrush lake with Orion Holidays for the last 4years very good company. The staff are extremely helpful and very pleasant. The house is fabulous for my family and the location superb. Hope to continue our visits in the years to come.

Fab weekend

A recent stay here was amazing! Although the weather played a crucial point. Orion holidays was very easy to book with and great communication. The accommodation met with all our needs which was for four couples and each had on suit facilities which were a must. The house had everything we required, lovely views all round and added benefit of jacuzzi. We will be coming back and happy to book through Orion again. Thank you

Perfect choice for a family celebration

Waterlow Lodge was the perfect choice for our family celebration. The house is gorgeous in a stunning and tranquil setting on the lake. It was really comfortable, with cosy bedrooms and amazing views! The kitchen was a great place to gather and had everything you could possibly need. Our grandson appreciated the toys cupboard and the hot tub was a big hit with all! Orion Holidays managed everything very smoothly from start to finish, and I found them friendly and responsive. We certainly hope to return before too long!

Weekend Break

This property is fantastic! The kitchen is unbelievable and the living area is very spacious. 4 large bedrooms all with en suite suited our party very well. Hot tub on the decking was well received by all and used to the max. Nice riverside bars within walking distance. We had a trip into South Cerney for a meal at The Old George but forget about getting taxis back as no one wants to pick you up. We were very lucky that a local guy called Darrel picked us up and dropped us back. What a star he was. Would definitely come back to this beautiful lodge.

a fab stay with all the amenities you could wish for. The houses themselves were good quality and provided a comfortable stay throughout. The team of staff were also good. We had an issue with the back door unable to lock and this was not fixed as no one was available. easy instructions for the jacuzzi.

Perfect place to escape

The house is in a quiet location on the lake and feels very private. All the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and are comfortable with tranquil decor. As a large group we never run out of glasses, crockery etc. the kitchen has everything you could possibly need for a self catering break - it’s better equipped than my kitchen at home! The Orion team are helpful and deliver excellent customer service year on year. We love our breaks here and continue to return.

Fabulous location for a celebratory weekend.

Excellent location & beautiful accommodation. Had a celebration for my mother’s 80th birthday. Three generations stayed at the house and had a lovely time. House is suitable for 8 adults plus two teenager's in bunk beds. Beautiful views over the lake & peaceful location. We were lucky that the weather was stunning for April too. So the hot tub was used! Hot tub maintenance team arrived early on departure day to ensure it was thoroughly cleaned for next guests. Kitchen is very well equipped & suitable for a large group. The whole property feels like a “home from home”. Highly recommend.

Ladies Weekend Break

A bunch of good friends from our village had a fabulous weekend away. We were all really impressed with how well equipped the house was. We had a fabulous relaxing break and enjoyed the local amenities and the hot tub. Orion's customer service was excellent when the fridge/freezer stopped working and they sourced temporary alternatives. The only negative was trying to work out how to make the DVD player work! However this didn't spoil our holiday.

Lovely place for family get together

We came for half term with the family and as it was our golden wedding we invited other family members for a day, the house was well equipped for more than 10 and we had everything we needed to cater for everyone. The hot tub was a great success and the youngsters enjoyed kayaking on the lake whilst still being near enough for the older members to watch the fun.

Great house for family get together

The house is stylish, confortable snd excellently equipped. Everything you could possibly need was provided. The dining table comfortably sits 12 and the children loved the snug room to play in. Perfect tranquil getaway to spend with friends.

Such wonderful surroundings with amazing walks. The house was perfect for 6 of us and the kitchen had every appliance with a huge island and dining table. The outside area was beautiful with the hot tub, gas BBQ, loungers and table and chairs. Loved watching all the Wild life and the paddle boards going by. We will definitely be back! A fantastic weekend with family and friends

This was a weekend for the whole family to meet up with our newest family members parents from Australia. The weather could have been better, however, on the Sunday afternoon of the BBQ, even the weather perked up, so we we are able to spend time on the deck and in the hot tub with plenty of safe space for the grandchildren to run around. We had chosen this lodge for its ample indoor space that would have easily accommodated us all had the weather forced us inside. Overall a great weekend and I really cant fault the property or the service.

Peaceful break with friends

We spent a long weekend here with a group of 8 and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The house was spacious enough that no one felt cramped, yet cozy enough to feel like we were all together. Bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped (we made a big breakfast each morning without running out of pans or plates), and there were plenty of areas to relax, both indoors and out. The location was unbeatable — right on the edge of the lake, with stunning views from sunrise to sunset. We spent the days kayaking, paddle boarding and just sitting by the water with a coffee or a glass of wine. In the evenings, we gathered around the hot tub, grilled dinner, and watched the stars. What really made it special was how peaceful and private it felt. Even with a large group, there was room for quiet moments — a morning walk along, reading on the deck, or just listening to the water. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, laugh, and enjoy nature with a group of friends or family, this is the perfect spot. We’re already talking about coming back next year!

Lovely house & surroundings

We had a lovely time at house, it was as described, clean & warm. Generally clean, but could benefit from a deep clean especially in the kitchen. We were told there was no high chair or cot, so had to bring them, but there was a high chair and a cot mattress in a cupboard, so presumably a cot somewhere. We had been planning a BBQ but was told it was coal ( so changed our plan) but it was gas ! The hot tub was great. Plenty of space inside & out. Very well equipped kitchen & lovey environment on the lake.

Birthday Treat

I took my family here for a 'BIG' birthday, there were eleven in total, five at Waterlow Lodge and four at Sun Kissed Lodge. Both lodges have Hot Tubs, which everyone loved on a cold November day. Waterlow Lodge comfortably sat 11 (or 12) to eat together Friday evening and the Waterside Restaurant were first class as we had a variety of dietary requirements including three vegans', two with nut allergies, one of which was also glutton free. The whole weekend worked even though the weather was rainy and grey. We all had a great time. Thank you Orion.

Perfect ppace to relax and recharge

We stayed here for a weekend as a group of friends and it was absolutely perfect. The lake setting is so beautiful and the house itself was comfortable, beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything we needed. We loved spending time in the hot tub, relaxing in the huge kitchen and playing games in the living room, and there are lots of lovely walks from the house to places to eat around the local lakes. Can’t recommend the house highly enough- we can’t wait to come back!

One or two little problems but a great weekend!

Super weekend, loved the house. But dishwasher failed, no maintenance man. Unable to borrow racquets.
