This is a lovely, very well equipped and perfectly designed house, located in one of the most beautiful spots in the world: on a little cove on Lake Lugano with a backdrop of the Italian and Swiss Alps.
What could be better than a swim in the lake, some family time and games lakeside, with a break for a delightful Italian meal in one of the many spots nearby? Answer: nothing, nothing could be better.
The beauty is spectacular: one of our teens described it as swimming in front of a green screen, the beauty was so unreal.
Regina was a wonderful host -- easy to reach, knowledgeable of the area, and attentive to ensuring the house was well-stocked and prepared.
There is a small grocer, two bars, pizza and gelatto within a few minutes walk -- along with a fantastic high end family restaurant. What more do you need?
The region offers hiking, watersports, and easy access to Lake Como for a visit (but you'll want to return to low key Lugano quickly....)
The town of Porlezza is about 5-10 mins away, and has large grocery stores, patisseries, great restaurants, etc.
The house itself is laid out to provide for great family and friend time -- we had lots of charades and card games etc.
The dock into the lake is where we spent most of our time -- on our way to the refreshing, crystal clear waters of the lake!
All in all, just a fabulous house with a supportive and engaged host in a spectacular part of the world.
We very much hope to visit again.
