Stay at Chateau Lena, August 2024

Chateau Lena is an imposing residence near Clairac and was just as impressive in reality as the online pictures had indicated. The children loved the swimming pool and there were plenty of places indoors for some of the grown ups to escape their noise for a while. Overall, a wonderful place to spend a family holiday.

Beautiful Chateau!

Chateau Lena is an absolutely lovely chateau in the French countryside. We were transported to another time via the lovely decor, furnishings and architecture. The genuine chateau experience, we will definitely stay again!

Summer holiday

Fab trip with three families. 7 Children aged 2-11. Very relaxed holiday with lots of great food and pool time. We loved the chateaux and Christian and Aline were incredibly responsive throughout the process. About an hours drive from Bergerac, the chateaux is really well equipped and has lots of character and charm. It’s huge! Perfect for a group of 13!

Wonderful birthday celebration at Chateau Lena

This was a 5 night stay of family and friends at Chateau Lena for my wife's 60th birthday celebration. The stay was all we hoped, a fine, spacious house that is very well equipped. The pool, BBQ and associated facilities were all used and excellent. It is a place that has grandeur and the wow factor. Though it may not be for those who want a clinically pristine "Four Seasons' hotel' ambience, expecting this misses the point - the many virtues of a dedicated-to-you chateau. Communication with the owner was both positive and responsive. A place well worth a stay.

Truly a perfect holiday at Chateau Lena!

My family and I had an unforgettable stay at Chateau Lena. The property is simply spectacular; the chateau itself is stunning and well kept, the park and grounds are beautifully maintained and the manager was super kind and helpful throughout our stay. We loved the cool decoration, the family feel and the warmth of the place. It's hard to believe but it's even more stunning in real life than in the beautiful photos online; a true fairytale castle! Everything at Chateau Lena was made to make our stay a pleasant one; the beds are super comfy, the panoramic views were incredible and the chateau felt like a real home to us. We had all the comforts of a modern home in a luxurious and unique setting. Truly a dream holiday. We would have loved to stay longer and will definitely come again soon!

A great royal experience

We rent this awesome Chateau for our summer vacation in August 2021. There are so many wonderful little details we will keep in our mind for a long time and might should share all of them but to keep this long story short, here’s a summary: The historical Chateau Lena is fantastic and we will come back again. Keeping the age of this building in mind, it deserves great respect to the landlord and family, who keep the charming spirit and precious details in every single room - all rooms were very clean and each of them is telling its own novel. The princess bedroom made our little girl speachless (us as well). The kitchen (we only used the main kitchen) had everything and even more to get our cooking skills satisfied. A private Chef might be an alternative next time. Just ask the supporting and very friendly owners @Christian: Merci bien… in supporting us in any situations and for the quick replies on our questions. My wife and I enjoyed with our 3 kids and family dog seven wonderful and calmly days. We extensively searched for a property with a special flair, luxury and appreciate to have a maximum on privacy and security. We did not get disappointed and enjoyed a one of a kind time with the best weather in the French summer. The outdoor highlight, for sure is the large, perfectly maintained park and spacious pool area, also by night. Our best tips: you should see the beautiful sundowns behind the former horse stables and relax with your beloved darling by a glass of regional wine. Another tip and great opportunity you will find in the dialogue with charming Aline, the House manager, who owns the farmyard next to the castle. She is also producing the best „Ceour de boeuf“ we ever tasted and luckily found a space in our car to take some back home. Within max 2 hours you can drive to the ocean area with the amazing Dune du Pilat and the wide natural beaches - also dogs are allowed on some of them, which made our two swimming trips we had very funny! The city of Bordeaux, a visit worth of course, is a one hour drive on the autoroute. The the next city, 5 minutes away from the property, was nice and offered all major groceries we needed.
