Misrepresented property. Shame on Vrbo.
I booked this property about a week and a half in advance as I was looking for a quiet private cabin to rest in with my spouse. The description online said that it was a “wellness retreat” but made it sound like all of the interactive activities were optional. After strange communication with the property owner (he did not respond to my message via vrbo app, so I had to look up the property’s website and literally verify the legitimacy of my reservation, and was extremely short and delayed on responses with no additional check in information until 2 hours AFTER my scheduled check in time, he emailed me saying my keys were in my cabin) I decided to dive a little deeper into researching this property before going to it. The reviews I found were terrifying and horrible, they were on Expedia (Vrbo’s parent) but somehow hadn’t been transferred to this platform. The reviews had accounts of guest feeing literally unsafe and uncomfortable during their stay because of it intrusive staff. I decided I didn’t feel safe going so I tried to cancel my reservation online with no hep whatsoever from Vrbo and couldn’t. So I had to eat the charge, to protect my own safety. Please look up this place “Mandala Springs” on other platforms and read the reviews before booking on here. It has been completely misrepresented. They also added on the “no alcohol” clause onto the description after I booked. Shady, super shady.
