Overall stay was easy and quick. Did not use amenities such as pool or breakfast. The hotel, you can tell was once beautiful and a place for events and gatherings. But the furniture is old, elevator is old, decor is outdated, painting and upkeep is needed, it's definitely a cheap hotel for a reason. Staff was friendly, not much interaction needed. For this to be an Independence hotel, it needs some love invested.

Hot tub was ok. No bubbles. We informed the staff, they just said it should be working. They did not come check it out. Fire alarm going off at midnight, someone banging on door then not waiting on an answer. Apparently a smoke alarm head was bad in a room on our floor. But when you hear banging on your door, and fire alarm, its tough to get back to sleep.

Spent 3 nights there and not once did someone check my room or bring me towels. They didn’t even answer the phone when calling about the kids and adults running up and down the hall from 9pm to 11:30pm. The halls smelt like marijuana and at 1:30am 4/11 the fire alarm went off because room 404 thought it would be a great to smoke pot and trigger the fire alarm.

Upon arrival I was greeted by who I now know was a manager. Check in was smooth.. I returned to my car to gather the rest of my party which was a 10 month old baby and my husband. We entered through the side door which is supposed to be key access only , but the door was unlocked so anyone could come in. We got onto the elevator along with another guest. We were assigned a room on the second floor. As the elevator begins to move and stop on the second floor it becomes stuck and we were left staring at a beige elevator door (this was not the elevator door but the floor door ) the staff moved swiftly to get us out (stuck for all of 5 minutes). After getting off we are now on our floor which reeked of cigarettes (this is a non smoking hotel ). Upon entering our room , we can see cracks and holes in the wall and the linen is stained with what I’m guessing is blood. The room was so uncomfortable and nasty that at this point I rather take the drive home. I checked in and out within the same hour !!! I would not return and would not recommend. The manager who checked me in and out left me in the system as if I completed my stay. Another staff member issued me a refund.

This hotel is extremely run down! We didn’t have hot water for our stay and we were told there was nothing the could do. No room change no money back nothing! Our key card never worked our phone never worked we paid for breakfast while booking then they tried to charge us again while eating. Terrible hotel!!

Staff was great. Bed and bathroom clean. But the carpet and furniture all have stains and feel kind of grimy , couch in the room even had shredded armrests from a cat clawing it. The pool and hot tub were open but a large group of screaming kids had taken ove the pool and the hot tub had no "bubble" function. Also the shower was cold. I read reviews before I went so basically knew what I was getting. It was cheap so it did the job and I wasn't really disappointed, but for a Wyndham must be the last on their whole list of establishments to get an update!

Unable to use shower due to bath tub filling up faster than it could drain then it took over 30mins to drain and that's a huge inconvenience. The property never contacted me like the worker said someone would and I find that so unprofessional. I posted this picture of the candy on the floor soon as we walked in the room also.

Parking was nice and easy, hotel was very nice and clean. Staff were extremely polite & efficient. The only thing that bothered me, tremendously, was the loud elevator door. My first impression was the man smoking marijuana in the parking lot. The person at the counter was very polite. The elevator smelled of marijuana was so strong. I get up to the room and noticed some glue-like substance on the nightstand. The remote I wouldn’t dare touch. It hadn’t been cleaned. The bed itself I actually slept on top of the sheets and didn’t even get under the covers. It’s an older hotel and the rooms need a serious refresh. The wood paneling on the sink is all cracked due to the moisture. The knob on the shower I feared was going to come off. The surfaces had that film-like residue on them. You knew they have been wiped down with cleaner but it felt like the water hadn’t been changed in a while. The best part about the whole trip was the man who waited on me at the hotel restaurant for breakfast. His name was Darren. If the whole hotel was like an experience with Darren then it would have been a lovely experience. Darren was so professional and kind. It was very obvious that he takes pride in his job. However I wish Wyndham took as much pride in that facility. Unfortunately they do not.

The water was coming out of both drains in the shower ,causing the shower to fill up faster than expected plus it took entirely to long to drain so we pretty much could not use the shower. The 1st room had condy on the flor, towel had something orange on it....dont recommend

Breakfast is not included in your stay. I was moved to three different hotel rooms due to there being pubic hairs stuck in old soap scum in the soap within the shower. One of the rooms did not have toilet paper or a shower curtain. The final room that they put us in did not have any shampoo, conditioner, or body wash. I just cleaned the shower myself. It’s pretty rough. The staff is nice, but obviously cleaning is not a priority here. The property is very old and dilapidated. I would never ever stay here again.
