We had a peaceful stay at the farmhouse amongst the sounds of sheep and wind. One could almost imagine having taken a step back in time to when life was much simpler. The cottage was comfortable and has all the amenities, but at the same time it gives you a taste of a life as it has been lived in this area for generations. In a sense a true Irish experience. The location is remote but fairly easily accessible and central for everything on the Dingle Peninsula. It is a great place to be to really get to know this part of Ireland. Maire, the host, adds to this. Having grown up at this very cottage and lived in the area all her life, she is a invaluable resource, and she makes herself available. You won't find any better local knowledge for everything from hikes to history - where to go and what to do.
We greatly enjoyed our stay and, given the connection we felt to the cottage, Maire, and the region, we have left there leaving a piece of ourselves behind. If you're interested in the authentic Ireland, and staying comfortably in a beautiful and somewhat wild rural setting, then this is probably for you. We certainly want to return.
