Everything You Need
We had 6 adults, a toddler, a 7 yr old and 10 yr old. We had everything we needed plus extra. Bonus! The deer coming up to the back door. Great location too! Only downfall….no TV on the main floor. Excellent accommodations.

Excellent Mountain Getaway
Loved our stay in the cabin. It was well maintained, stocked with everything we needed, and plenty of space. We loved hiking around the property and surrounding trails, exploring the town, skiing/tubing, and loved the bbq and brewery spots in town. Great home base for everything we wanted to do!

Wonderful
Beautiful log home! Much nicer than expected. Perfect for multiple families. The children’s play area was a great bonus. Hot tub, outside grill, and inside fireplace all worked great. Plenty of hot water for multiple showers. We were fortunate to have a lot of snow while we were there and could walk right out into the forest to find a great hill to sled down. We enjoyed our stay very much and we will definitely be back. Thank you so much.

Beautiful, Cozy Property
Wonderful stay over Christmas with family.(6 adults, 2 kids) Plenty of space for everyone. Very well maintained and clean. Enjoyed short hikes in the snow, the hot tub, fireplace,(plenty of wood provided ) toys for kiddos, snow tubing, skiing and shopping in town. But most of all just hanging out with the family in the lovely, cozy space and watching the deer visit daily in the back yard.

Great mountain home!
Such a wonderful place! Fully stocked with everything yoy need. Located next to a cute Hallmark town. Quick drive to Alamogordo. This was such a perfect place for our Thanksgiving holiday family time. I highly recommend staying here!

Family trip
If you have kids the loft area is perfect for them.with toys and bunk beds. The Hot Tub was a nice relaxing option available, in great condistion. They had everything we needed and then some. We all enjoyed the house and location. The brewery is in walking disctance, theres a trail practically property adjacent. I would have liked to of stayed longer and gotten some real hiking in. Great spot beautiful home with a very unique story. My husband loved learning about and discovering the jacks. It was great!!

Great location!
This cabin is close to everything we needed. Walking distance to town, restraunts, running and hiking trails. Our vehicles didn't move all weekend! The hot tub was a nice treat! The open area behind the house was fantastic. Our kids played for hours out there. A few things to be aware of... the house was not well stocked. We had to go get hand soap, laundry detergent, clorox wipes and trash bags... we didn't mind but we also didn't know to bring some of those things (we VRBO alot... most of that is provided). I don't know if it was a busy weekend or the norm but the Family Dollar (the only thing besides an Allsup's... there is NO grocery store!) was very picked over and had lots of empty shelves. Also for a house this size more towels should be available. Really a great house but just a few things to have a heads up about!

Spring break 2023
The futon in the loft was not suitable for adults with a very sagging mattress. The tub shower is inconvenient for adults and the other shower is small and cramped. The hot-tub was not clean; however, management took care of it right away and was very responsive. Deer came up to the rear of the cabin daily, fire place worked great, sheets were very soft, we had hoped for a more secluded area as opposed close neighbors.

Getaway
We went with 3 other couples for a 4 day weekend. We arrived late Friday night but still enjoyed the hottub and the herd of deer that came to visit. The deer returned morning and night and we actually bought a bag of deer corn to keep them from staring us down. We enjoyed eating at the brewery and at Mad Jack's. The wait was totally worth it!! Our least favorite part was the electricity going out in the entire village for the last 22 hours of our stay. The winds were gusting up to 80mph and a tree took out the lines. The temperature was down to 18 degrees but we built a fire and had an adventure. Would just request some flashlights and lanterns because it was VERY dark. Thank goodness the stove and hot water heater were gas powered....we were able to cook some breakfast and wash dishes.

Very nice place!
Very clean, spacious, and beautiful views! The deer walk through the back yard which is basically a forest. Great location, close to all the shops and restaurants. We had a great time!

Gorgeous cabin
Overall a wonderful stay. The best family experience. We would go again! Hard to regulate temp in bedrooms. Home was extremly well equipped. Deer came every day outside back door. 25 was the highest. Fireplace was great. Small town was perfect. Hard to drive up hills to cabin with snow.

Great view and plenty of hiking!
Cabin was very clean there was plenty of amenities for us to use. The view was beautiful and lots of wildlife. The wifi was not working but staff was more then willing to help us with our problem. Please heed advisory on 4x4 or chains during snowy weather lift on there website or you will have a nice walk!!! Other than that it was a perfect place to spend my family vacation.

Refreshing
Myself and some of our family were not able to make this trip but our son, dtr in law and 3 of our grandchildren LOVED the home. It was well stocked from everything to the pantry, linens and firewood. They enjoyed the town and the family of deer that came up to the house. Definitely going to request to stay here again, PERFECT for families with kids. Lots of toys and games wete furnished!

Cloudcroft is a village.
The television downstairs didn’t work.. The toilet was repaired immediately after we called. We had two days of snow and we enjoyed snowshoeing out our back door. It might be good to remind future renters that Cloudcroft is a village, so bring groceries.

The cabin was nice, but the heating system for those sleeping on the second and third levels were extremely hot. Those on the first floor were cold. The bathroom on the second floor we had issues flushing the toilet due lack of pressure. Lastly, the family wanted to watch movies but there was no smart tv therefore no access to streaming services.

Lovely time in the mountains
We love NM and have been all over the state but never to Cloudcroft. Staying at this cabin was the best introduction to the town we could have gotten. It was super spacious and clean. The hot tub and foosball table gave our teenagers just enough to do during our downtime. The forest was closed due to fire danger, but there is a sliver of the Osha trail that snakes just beyond the yard, so we explored that. We were walking distance to town and walked everywhere (though, be sure you can handle walking up hills — that climb is no joke coming back to the cabin). We really enjoyed our stay. If our travels ever bring us back to the area, we will for sure book here again!!

Spacious cabin, great for families including young children. Cloudcroft had really cold nights but heating for the cabin worked great and we all stayed warm during the night. Would recommend 👌

Great host, amazing cabin!
Had a great stay at the cabin! Host allowed us to get in a little early and the place was fantastic. Lived up to all the details and frankly exceeded the pictures expectations! The Forrest out back had tons of wildlife and the family loved it. Very close to downtown area too. Thanks for the great weekend!

Amazing property... Comfortable stay! We'll be back
This home it's probably the best in thrre neighborhood. Had everything we needed and more. Even got to feed some deer in the backyard. Deer came back after the first feeding. The home is situated on a beautiful piece of land eith a hot tub in the back for relaxation. Plenty of things for the kids to play with and keep busy. I can't say enough about this property. If you are on the fence just do it, you won't regret it! Thanks for great stay!

We apologize that you had a few issues during your stay and made sure to provide a discount for the concerns mentioned. Unfortunately we know it does not help your visit but we were able to replace the coffee pot and address the hot tub part.

Wish come true
The stay at the cabin was great! The cabin is beautiful and kept up very nicely. We got snow so my grandchildren had a wonderful time playing in the snow. The outside looked like a winter wonderland. Beautiful! The only problem I had was the bathrooms. I am 69 years old and I take care of my brother that is 57 years old with DS. Although our bedroom was on the main floor, there was no way either of us would be able to get in the claw foot bathtub to shower! We showered downstairs in the tiny shower. Going downstairs was a chore! The shower is so small that when he would bend down to scrub his feet he would hit the water handle with his behind and push it to cold. Not pleasant!! All this to say, that this beautiful cabin is not for anyone that has a hard time with stairs or has any disability. Other than this daily inconvenience, the stay was great and the cabin is beautiful!! I always got a quick response to all of my emails too.

40th Birthday Trip
I surprised my husband with this trip for his 40th birthday. We had our twin toddlers (3yr) my parents and our friends with their infant. We had plenty of space, enjoyed our morning deer visitors, the osha trail, shops, brewery pizza place, white sands and snow tubing on our last day! We were here during a very unusually warm winter! Oh and the hot tub was great too!

Aesthetically pleasing cabin
The cabin is beautiful and fairly clean. However, if you have a child that is scared of moths, this is not the place for you. We rented this place out for a week, on the second night the downstairs toilet stopped working, we called the property manager and owner the next day, lefts messages and no one ever replied. We wanted to speak to them about the toilet and the Jacuzzi; the Jacuzzi never worked either, but our calls were not returned. Kitchen has many essentials, but the upstairs shower/tub is not elderly friendly and if you plan on doing a load of laundry, bring your own laundry detergent and dryer sheets…almost want to rate this stay a 1 star, but the scenery was beautiful. We will not be returning to this cabin.

Beautiful clean large comfortable house
The description for this house needs to be rewritten! Its much nicer and bigger than we thought. On the bottom level theres a tv, Gaming system, foosball table a bedroom and a bathroom. The teenagers never Left "their floor". Adults spent Our time on the main level in front of the fireplace, and next to the fully stocked kitchen. There is an additional loft, also very nice, which we did not use, with lots of toys for younger children. Very nice home, very steep driveway. We visited in October, no snow, but it was steep (they mention this in the review). Our (non-4 wheel drive) suv, would not had gone up the driveway if there were snow. We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. Would stay again! Nice place For a family.

Bear Cabin
This is our second time at “bear cabin.” The kids absolutely love it. I was notified by the owner that the hot tub wasn’t heating and that it would not be available during our stay. We were bummed as the kids love it. I received a message the next day from the owner that someone was headed over to fix the hot tub! This says everything. We will be back again!

Great family vacation location
The house was clean and spacious. We had a group of four adults and two kids, and we had plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked. The kids loved the loft space, and there are great toys up there. In the evenings we were able to put the kids to bed and watch TV in the lowest level without disturbing them. The view out the back windows is beautiful (we saw elk!), and access to the trails is so convenient. The hot tub was very clean and well maintained. The wifi was stable and fast enough to support a video call and streaming media.

Awesome place!
Had a great couple of days in Cloudcroft. The cabin was perfect. Very clean with plenty of room. Tons of games and toys for the kids and a hot tub for us. Parking is a little tricky. We had two vehicles both with trailers hauling sxs’s. We made it work but sharpen your Tetris skills before coming if you’re hauling anything.

This property was great. The kitchen was well equipped. Plenty of room for sleeping. The trail out the back door was nice. We rented the place for a post vaccination family reunion. Ages ranged from 10 to 67. The weather was rainy but the house had plenty of opportunities for having fun together. We brought some records and games. Internet connection was good for streaming movies with the grandkids. Great time overall.

Excellent getaway
Had a great stay with two families. Kids aged 3-10 all had a great time. Lots of toys for the little ones, and the older kids and adults enjoyed the foosball table. Proximity to great hiking trail was a definite plus. I'd stayed here before, and I hope to stay again.

Amazing Family Getaway
I recently stayed at this property with my husband and some family members for my husband's birthday. I was not sure how well I was going to like to property because the pictures online were a bit lackluster. However, when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The cabin is large and spacious, clean and beautiful. It was very dog friendly and had great amenities such at the hot tub, an outdoor grill, a well stocked kitchen. The beds were comfortable and while I only used the bathroom and shower on the lowest level, it was a good shower with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. I only have two comments, one the coffee maker was strangely very slow and it took about 40 minutes to make a cup of coffee. Also if you bring a dog bring a leash and a desire to go for a walk because you have to walk a ways before you can find a safe area where you might be able to let the dog off the leash. However, there is a wonderful trail right behind the house. Overall we had a great time and would book this property again. Also bring your own shampoo and conditioner.

The house description did not make it sound as big as it actually is. There are two full modern futons in the basement rec room that easily flip down into two queen beds and a bedroom in the basement with a queen bed, two bedrooms on the main floor with a queen bed each and a loft upstairs containing a queen futon and a bunkbed with a double bed on the bottom. The hot tub is huge and beautiful and we soaked daily. We were visited daily by mule deer. We tromped around the forest behind the house and took various routes walking into town to visit the stores and coffee shops. There is also a foosball table in the basement - I don't think that was mentioned in the description. Both the adults and teens had a blast. It was a quick drive to White Sands and Alamogordo where we bought groceries.

40th Celebration
This property did not let us down. From the log cabin look and feel to the location. Trail right out the back door and the mins away from town was perfect. Deer actually came to within feet from the back door. Enjoyed the peacefulness and they had TVs in locations other than the main living room so adults could talk and kids could play. The dogs loved the snow and freedom to run. The property management was amazing. Had an issue and within minutes they were on it and fixed it. Don’t remember name but the gentleman was great. Will be returning for sure.
