Nice hotel in a quiet and very beautiful setting
We stayed for the third time in this really nice hotel. This time we upgraded to a room with a terrazzo for 3 nights and loved it! The staff is very nice and helpful, but we arrived in October and the hotel closes down for the winter, so we were only few guests there and had a feeling of “closing down”. The restaurant was not worth the money this time - but we’ve had nice food there before. Breakfast is ok - not fantastic. We will come back!

Not The Same
Relaid il Cannilichio is in a wonderful position, we reigned after a previous excellent visit. Things were not the same. With the exception of Simone service was average and at times rude. The menu in the restaurant didn’t change, we only found one option we enjoyed. The worst thing was that the shower was malfunctioning and floode the bathroom. Despite reporting this it happened again! Soaking everything including our laundry. At this point we decided to cut our stay short.

Vi bodde här i 4 nätter och återvänder aldrig! Redan när vi checkade in började problemen, vi hade bokat ett deluxrum med terass. Terrasserna låg utan avgränsning till övriga rum i gassande sol (var 37 grader i skuggan när vi var här) utan tillgång till skugga eller parasoll. Vi frågade om vi kunde byta rum eller t.o.m. nedgradera vårt rum för att få lite privat space. Efter mycket om och men löstes detta och vi fick ett classic rum med löfte om att uppgraderas till samma rum igen om någon dag då det fanns lediga rum med bättre terass detta löfte hölls dock aldrig. Poolområdet är slitet och trist och det finns bara 2 parasoll!! Gick inte att vara i poolområdet om du inte lyckades få ett av dessa parasoll. Blev olidligt varmt. Poolhanddukarna kostar 2 euro/dag per person att låna. Något som inte informerades vid incheckning. Restaurangen har god mat och trevlig personal, trevligast var den unge killen i baren. Eloge till honom. Dock vimlar det av getingar och du sitter på stålstolar utan dynor. En kväll var restaurangen abonnerad och då glömdes vi gäster bort och kunde inte ens få sitta utomhus på terassen och äta utan endast i den trista restaurangdelen inomhus utan fönster. Engångs plastmuggar, sugrör i plast mm känns omodernt och miljötänket är obefintligt. Managern är ung och orutinerad och beklagade sig hur mycket jobb hon hade på hotellet. Att lösa saker för gästerna var inget hon prioriterade. Oproffsig och otrevlig! Trist start på semestern!

Great property, wonderful view from the terrace! Breakfast has lots of options with eggs, bacon, pastries, cold cuts, fruit and vegetables, jams, etc. Just a friendly side note for the F&B manager of the property, it's very dissapointing to overhear the "stories'" about "how stupid some guests are" from the staff sharing them in the kitchen area - very unprofessional, something to definitely bring up to your servers attention if you want to keep up with the level of service you are aiming for. The Front Office staff and Housekeeping team was very nice and friendly on the other hand.

la struttura si trova all'interno di un borgo medioevale meraviglioso. Le camere sono spaziose ma necessitano di alcuni elementi che le renderebbero più confortevoli come armadi più spaziosi o arredi per poter appoggiare valige e indumenti. Elemento assolutamente da considerare è l'impianto di condizionamento non funzionante in modo idoneo, per cui la struttura è da evitare nei mesi molto caldi poiché le camere sono roventi. la piscina necessita di manutenzione sia ordinaria con pulizia periodica che purtroppo durante la nostra permanenza non è stata proprio effettuata sia ordinaria visto che si sta proprio sgretolando. Il giardino adiacente è pieno di mozziconi di sigarette e con prato non curato. Basterebbe davvero poco per rendere la permanenza meravigliosa.

Il punto forte è sicuramente la location, su una collina, nel verde. Magnifico paesaggio e magnifica struttura (vecchio castello). Il punto debole la vetustà della struttura, che andrebbe rinnovata e riabbellita con qualche tocco di modernità. Molto buona la colazione, molto gentili i dipendenti

Ho soggiornato presso il Relais il Canalicchio ad Agosto è stato davvero un soggiorno incantato per il paesaggio in questo borgo medievale. La stanza e bagno un po’ trascurati non adatte a chi è allergico. Colazione e la Ristorazione (abbiamo cenato 2 sere😒) non all’altezza per le stelle.

In caso di ospiti allergici cerchiamo di assegnare la camera più indicata. Nell'ultima settimana abbiamo potenziato il servizio breakfast aprendo due punti di caffetteria e distribuendo nelle sale breakfast piccoli buffet di appoggio con prodotti imbustati. La struttura è molto bella e tranquilla, però le camere non vengono pulite, ma solo sistemate, il wi-fi non prende quasi mai, e non arriva in tutte le camere, inoltre la colazione è stata davvero deludente, oltre al fatto che non era ben fornita e di qualità, ci hanno messo a conto due tost che abbiamo preso a colazione per ben 14 euro, e ci volevano far pagare la colazione salata, che invece era compresa nel prezzo (cominque i tost ce li hanno fatti pagare). e alla fine quando abbiamo fatto i conti, ci avevano addebitato anche le spese di altre stanze. siamo rimasti molto delusi.

Gentile ospite ci dispiace che abbia avuto tante disavventure durante il suo soggiorno qui da noi, ci dispiace perchè stiamo cercando di fare del nostro meglio per farvi stare bene, sulla wifi abbiamo avuto un problema pertanto non possiamo dirle nulla se non che abbiamo risolto, sulla colazione invece tranne gli errori degli addebiti e possono capitare siamo esseri umani, bisogna precisare che la qualità dei prodotti sono di qualità, pane dolci fatti in casa ed il resto è comprato dai migliori fornitori, pertanto ci dispiace che non sia stata gradita, ovviamente si è tutti abituati ai buffet quindi sicuramente la colazione servita può sembrare più scarna ma i buffet quest'anno non si possono fare e quindi non possiamo fare diversamente, comunque facciamo tesoro di quanto da Lei scritto sulla recensione e cercheremo di migliorare.

An absolutely stunning hotel in an amazing location. The only reason we haven’t given it 5 Stars overall was the food, the main restaurant is beautiful but the food is average and the breakfast poor. A lot of the guests we spoke to were saying exactly the same thing. I would however return as the location more than made up for the poor dining.

Beautiful rustic
We stayed for 5 nights as a family of 4 with 2 kids in the apartment. The location of the hotel was amazing, high on the mountains with beautiful views and sunsets every evening. The staff are lovely and are very helpful. The place is abit rustic and some things are a bit run down eg baby cot wasn't flat, our air con didn't work the first night (although this was fixed after one day). You definitely need a car to stay here as it is in the middle of nowhere, but once you do have a car, there are lots of charming Italian villages to visit closeby.

Impeccable service in beautiful surroundings
Relais Il Canalicchhio is in a beautiful location overlooking olive groves and mountains with lovely hamlets. Canalicchio is located among the hill towns in central Italy and provides great access to many hill towns in the areas, Gubbio, Spoletto, Orvieto, Cortona, Assisi, to name just a few, all within a short drive. The hotel service could not have been better, in that all questions were answered, every request was taken care of and always with smiles and graciousness. The main villa is absolutely gorgeous with very personal touches. Their motif is seen throughout the villa up to and including etched windows in the dining room, personalized ceramic tiles, hardwood furniture with the monogram, all very lovely and tastefully done. The outside of the estate is meticulously maintained with lush vegetation, and immaculate pool areas. The included buffet breakfast was always pleasing with specialities of the area, while the dinners could not be surpassed. Every night there were different offerings on the multi-course menu and served by a waitstaff that was attentive to your every need. The food, the wine, everything was excellent and served in a panaramic dining room with the perfect ambiance. There are multiple rooms in the villa that include a fireplace sitting area, billiard room and card room, a lounge area filled with artifacts and a bar area that sports a baby grand piano for live music. The main villa is a jewel.

Stunning views
A hotel with an absolutely stunning location. On a hilltop in rural Umbria. It has a bit of faded glory with much maintenance to be done. Food good and plenty of it, a little boring by the end of the week. Reception staff very friendly and helpful, Rachele in particular was lovely. Be careful what room you book as a village view could be looking at a stone wall. We were in a 1bedroomed apartment in the village resort. It was very roomy with lots of space and being at the end was a great location.

Great, remote hotel
Lovely hotel tucked out in the sticks. It is about 3 miles from a main road up a twisty hillside before you get to the hotel so if you’re planning on excursions then you’ll need a hire car. The remote location meant many stayed at the hotel so the pools are crowded for their size. The food in the hotel was ok, but expensive. However, there’s a small restaurant just outside of the hotel which has great food at good prices, you need to book though!
