Welcome! We are excited to invite you to your get-away at our small home, affectionately called “The Nest” that is sometimes vacant at various times throughout the year. Kye Bay is nestled on the East Coast of central Vancouver Island, BC in the town of Comox.
We offer your stay at our coach house style home, situated bank side on a quiet lane, across from a parklet beach access on lower Kye Bay Road. Enjoy the seasonal views of Mother Nature‘s bounty of wildlife and all beach activities. We are close to CFB Comox, airport, Mt. Washington, all amenities and recreation options in the Comox Valley. We love pets, but this is a pet free rental please.
Take advantage while we are away…escape to the beach and enjoy your stay in our open concept 1 bedroom home. The property is shared with the original cabin, that grew over the years, now called Kye Bay Cottage where we generationally reside with the Nest. The Nest is a versatile open living space for a getaway, ideal for 1-2 humans. But visitors have shared to is also perfect to accommodate a family with the additional sleeping, for short stays.
The couch converts to a mattress quality twin bed and the settee converts to a mattress quality single bed, both in the living room. Please keep in mind that this will make the 700 sq/ft space very full. If needed, a tent could be accommodated in the yard.
This property provides a covered sitting area and outdoor seating options with the vast beach that is steps away. Enjoy all the modern conveniences of our home with a queen bed (enjoy the view while sipping your morning coffee in bed), dishwasher, washer/dryer, oven, counter cooktop, microwave, TV and wifi. Please note the wifi can be unpredictably impacted by increased air activity at CFB Comox and the airport.
The generous sized bathroom has heated tile floors, full shower with bathtub, and bidet toilet. Private entrance and yard - foot bath at staircase necessary to maintain the clean space - no sand below the stairs please. Checkin 4 pm and checkout 10 am. Minimal 3 night stay. When you enjoy a week - check in is noon onwards on Saturday’s and check out by noon Friday‘s. Weekly rate 10% discount.

We had a great week at Kye Bay. The house was great and the area is so good. Such a nice spot near the water to see the tides come in and out. A great morning coffee or evening wine and sunset spot just steps away from the door. Don't worry about the proximity to the airport, its mostly just a few prop planes dropping gliders which is fun to watch. Only one or two larger planes a day. Our family really enjoyed the home and area

This worked so well for us as a couple. Nice outdoor seating areas and short walk to the beaches. Its a lovely apartment - very well equipped. Mylisa was very kind, accomodating and thoughtful - bringing us a flash light and lighter when the area lost power temporarily at night.It was a very comfortable stay and we'll be back.Mahalo,Katie

Wonderful place to "nest" or explore
My husband and I enjoyed exploring the coastal beaches, visiting pleasant nearby towns, and hiking near Mt. Washington. All short distances from "The Nest". We enjoyed meeting host Mylissa who was eager to make our visit enjoyable and communication easy.
The "nest" was more spacious and open than suggested by the photos and was very up-to-date in all appliances, light fixtures, mattresses, linens, etc. Kitchen was amazingly well equipped. Made our visit a pleasure.

Stay at the beach!
We were there to visit friends that live on the island. So the spot was perfectly positioned to enjoy the beach and ocean as well as a short 10 minute drive to our friends.

Exceeded our expectations!
Honestly, the best place ever! Well appointed with everything we could have needed. Super kind host. Comfortable beds, steps from a GORGEOUS beach with warm ocean water. Absolutely magical! We’ve already booked it again for next summer!!
