It was perfect. Very close to town and the river. Plenty to do on the property and the cabins were all very nice. Would love to go back. Highly recommend
We had a great time at the compound. Having two kitchens was a huge plus. 2 Bbq pits fire were great for steaks and dove poppers and pool and outdoor bar location worked out very well for our large group. We would definitely book again.
We had a great time with family and friends! The accommodations are perfect to give everyone ample space to hamg out together as well as a place to retreat at night! We love coming each and every year :)
This place was nice! We came here with family and friends with the intention to float the river. Since the river was low, this place worked out perfectly to keep us entertained for a couple of days. We loved the individual buildings to provide more privacy. It was great to have the pool and bar area with the tv for movie night and the kids really enjoyed the ping pong table! We would recommend this place to friends.
We booked Agave Point specifically because it gave each of our adult children a private house with a private bathroom so we didn’t have to share between our large family. The bathrooms in all the homes were large and fully updated. There were two full kitchens one in the river house and one in the bunk house. The bunk house kitchen was better supplied with utensils and had a very nice large island, double oven and stove.
The river house had a regular stove refrigerator and microwave and also an extra refrigerator outside on the deck which was a plus to keep all our drinks in while spending time at the pool or relaxing on one of the porches or beautiful lawn.
Nanette was so gracious and understanding as prior to our arrival we had just gone through a horrible hurricane in Pasadena and were without power for two days prior to our trip and she made it possible for us to check in a few hours early which we did and enjoyed the AC very much.
We had a few minor issues with one refrigerator and the drainage of one of the showers but maintenance came over quickly and fixed everything immediately.
The river was not floatable at all but the kids had fun wading and we enjoyed spending time in the pool very much. I would definitely come back again. We had a group of 14.
Great family vacation home - places for everyone to gather and still have some privacy. The pool makes for a great break from the river!!! The grill, fire pit, all the pool floats/toys. You won’t regret booking this family home!
This property was absolutely perfect for our family of 13. Communication before our arrival was excellent, and I highly recommend opting for the linen package, it made things so easy. The home had everything we needed. The parents enjoyed private quarters, and the cousins (ranging from high school to college) loved having their own cottages, giving them a sense of independence while still allowing us all to come together for meals. There was plenty of seating for everyone, both at the table and around the pool. It was the ideal place for our family to reconnect. We LOVED everything about it!
Its a family tradition to spend memorial day weekend traveling. We made beautiful memories and absolutely loved the place.

Nice place right on river road that is central to everything Frio.
Great place that allows large families like ours or multiple families to spread out and have room to have fun. BBQ pits, pool, cabana, outdoor tv, outdoor games, etc. will surely stay again!

Loved it!
Wonderful, wonderful place for our family to gather! The pool and cabana are awesome!! Will definitely book again.
nice big house - good for our large group of parents and teens. 10 minute walk to the river, restaurants close by. The kids loved having a pool. We definitely enjoyed it.
This property is so unique. It’s four separate houses giving everyone their own space. The rock paths all lead to a great bar/pool hangout spot. It was our second visit there and planning on staying again.
It is a very charming property with wonderful yard that just says it’s time to relax! The accommodations are clean and charming decor! Kitchen is well stocked with whatever you may need to cook. The pool area is beautiful and is very well maintained. We loved the swings, hammock, and sat around the fire pit too! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Our stay at Agave Point was wonderful. Hosts were readily available and very responsive. Property was everything we expected -- clean, well-kept, comfortable. Plenty of space for our extended family to spread out, have their own spaces, and come together for meals and swimming at the pool. Overall, just a fantastic experience and highly recommend.
We had a great time staying at Agave Point. It worked perfectly for our large family.
Everyone had their own space but we could come together for meals, s’mores around the campfire, etc.
The pool was beautiful, the kitchen was well stocked with cookware and tableware, and the location was conveniently close to the Frio River.
Would stay here again. Thanks for the hospitality!
This is the second timing staying here, awesome property with fun things to do!
After hanging at the river all day it’s nice to come back to the pool and BarBQ. There’s ping pong, horseshoes, darts and other great amenities. Property is clean and there is ample parking. Lots of room for a few families to gather, sleep and play. Love this property, thanks guys!
Agave Point provided the perfect location for our family get together. From the short walk to the river to hanging out at the property and enjoying the pool, we couldn't have asked for a better stay. The management company seemed to really care about their guests and was easy to communicate with. In short, we made some great memories! Thank you Nanette for your assistance through out out stay.
This spot is both beautiful and serene. I loved the individual cabins. The outdoor space was gorgeous. The pool was a great size for a bunch of teenagers. The only negative (if you even want to consider it a negative) is there isn't a large living/family room for everyone to gather out in one spot of the heat. Overall, I would definitely recommend this home and I would definitely rent again.
Great place to stay! Recently stayed with a large group and loved that we all got our own little cottage and bathroom for each family.
Pros: lots of amenities on the property, you wouldn’t ever have to leave as it has everything right there! The pool was amazing.
Café lights throughout the whole property that made a stunning during the night time.
Cons: -overall, the property was not very clean. I talked to the property manager at the end of our stay and she said they had somebody different clean it prior to our party staying. Things like hair in the shower from previous guests, nose marks on the windows from a dog, dust on the blinds, dried food in the kitchen.
- we ordered the $250 linen package. Was disappointed when the linens were not put on all the beds they were just laid out. Also only came with a flat sheet. Would expect all beds to be ready when you pay that price.
Overall would def stay again! Had a great stay!

Multi family river trip
This property was really amazing. Since we were multiple families gathering, we all had a house to give distance, yet be together too. I would have prefered the communication leading up to check-in sooner than it was and to have been sent in an email. I couldn't drive and write down everything being said over the phone. It made me feel unprepared. It was also unfortunate to learn about the linen fee that I overlooked. The thought of no linens made me absolutely panic, but Nanette truly jumped in and helped me. Just prepay for the linens and all should be fine. It really is a wonderful location and the reviews of the pool are no lie. We spent all of our time there and it was a blast! Once we were there, this property was beyond my expectations. It gives you a sense of history, luxury, and charm. Such a great opportunity to stay there.
Comfortable house with great history ....a few note worthy issues.
This was our first trip to the Frio, and we had a great time. The location is terrific! Our teens loved the pool, the horseshoes and especially the cornhole game. It offered hours of fun and competition between the teens and Dads. The layout of having separate quarters for our teen boys and teen girls was perfect for our group.
A few maintenance issues of note: The main historic river house had a definite smell. It was either mold, mildew, a dead animal under the porch or just history. We called and spoke with the property manager, and they said they would send someone out to investigate. To our knowledge, no one ever came out. It is an historic property, but the smell was very unpleasant. An additional issue to note was that the air conditioning units at all houses had to be kept at 74 degrees or they would ‘freeze up’. For the insulation of these houses, that is very warm. The teens didn't mind as much as the middle-aged moms cooking in the kitchens :)
As we have never been to the Frio before, the condition of this house may be the norm. The lay out and amenities were wonderful, I would say that there were a lot of minor repairs that needed to be done. Drains stuck in the down position, shower curtains that fell and had to be rehung, etc. None of these were big issues, more just inconveniences causing a little extra work by the Daddys on the trip. The kitchens were both stocked with ample plates, cups and silverware. (We used paper products most of our trip.) The pots and pans for cooking were very eclectic and looked to be what were items left behind by previous renters. I brought my own muffin pan, cookie sheets, skillets, etc. and was very glad I did.
We enjoyed our stay very much, but I have had a hard time getting our deposit returned or any communication as to why there has been a delay. I was assured it would be returned within 7 days of vacating the property, we left 13 days ago :/ Couple that with the fact that before we even checked in, I received a call that we were not getting our whole deposit back due to some damages. Once I explained we hadn't even checked in yet, they quickly apologized for the mistake. This and the fact that I still haven't received my deposit has made me a bit nervous. I'm sure this will get sorted out, but it does explain my lower rating for the property manager. I honestly hated leaving this review, as it is my first negative review ever on VRBO in at least 10 years of VRBO rentals. I am easy to ple
