「The property is an historical building decorated in a sympathetic way. The grounds were lovely and you could sit out if you wanted to. The bedroom was large but the over bath shower was a bit tricky and needed a hand rail to safely get in and out. Breakfast was simple, croissants, bread, jam and a few bits of cheese. 」

「Can’t begin to describe what a great stay this is. A real experience, if you are doing the battlefields, then staying or visiting here is a must. Comfy beds, great facilities and good breakfast. Loft chapel is probably the nicest chapel or church I have ever seen mainly because of the emotion involved. Thoroughly recommend. 」

「Hotel de la Paix is a wonderful property, each of our rooms had some outdoor space and were brilliantly designed. Right in the center of town and the staff/family is very accommodating. If you are visiting Poperinge (and you should) this is the place to stay.」

「Het personeel was fantastisch en dan bedoel ik vooral hoe het restaurantpersoneel en de keuken inspeelden op onze specifieke (gezins)situatie! (Veel dank!) Zeer goede keuken, vonden wij. Het eten en drinken was trouwens ook erg betaalbaar. De familiekamer die we kregen had een klein gebrek: die bleef warm door een warme leiding onder vloer, lauw water uit de koude kraan en een vrij klein raam. 「Staff were very helpful - we arrived late and the person on reception kept the entrance unlocked until we arrived, answered all our queries and was very friendly and helpful. Room was sparce but very spacious.」

「We had a flying visit to this hotel but it was fabulous. It's a beautiful building and the host was very friendly. We had to get up early before breakfast is beautiful served but they made sure the daily bread order arrived early and made us a picnic breakfast to eat in the road, even with warm scrambled eggs! Delicious! And Veurne is beautiful. Well worth a visit. 」

「Hotel Recour was without a doubt the best place we stayed the entire time we were in Europe. The staff were beyond helpful and friendly, the prices were very reasonable, breakfast was a wonderful spread and the location cannot be beat. And that's not even mentioning the absolutely beautiful room with a large bath that was very welcome after the trek out to Poperinge!」
