"I had a comfortable stay here. The A/C works well, and the Wi-Fi was sufficient for my needs. They have a pool and a bar (although I’m not sure how often the bar is open). You will have a key to your room, but to gain access to the compound you will need to ring the doorbell each time you come and go. My Spanish is limited, but I knew I had to pay cash upon arrival. "Clean, comfortable, friendly, and a great location. Karla was a fabulous host, her breakfast was so delicious with fresh Ecuadorian fruits, eggs and bread. The grounds are beautiful, lovely pool surrounded by lush local gardens and indigenous pottery. Our cottage was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed and ample storage space. We had a fabulous 5 nights, thanks to Karla's hospitality, lovely weather and the Pacific Ocean just across the road. "

Oro Verde Manta

"Honest review, I actually liked the stay! However, there were some things that I felt should be considered to be changed in the future. 1. The shower design aka the “turkish” shower is not so good. Everytime I showered, there was a the puddle of water on the floor due to half of the shower only vertically being covered. This is no matter how much I stayed on the covered side of the shower. 2. The soap and shampoo used should be changed. Yes, the might smell ok, not the best, but once lathered on body, the smell does not last and I feel like I showered with just water. 3. Towels smell like they were not washed with detergent, they smelled humid. Not bad, but definitely not like any detergent was used. 4. I’ve had some instances where front desk was very very slow and not sure why, but I hope it something that can be improved especially when it’s my first time there and was my very first impression when coming in and having to wait 10min for someone to help me. Now for the good stuff! 1. The staff is very friendly! Always saying hi, smiling, very welcoming. They treated us like royalty. 2. Rooms are very clean and great job done by cleaning staff, great view of the beach, and not noisy as walls are thick. 3. Breakfast buffet is so good I woke up everyday at 6am in excitement for the buffet! 4. Pool is beautiful and the waiters there are very attentive and treat you like you are VIP. Nonetheless, overall I give Oro Verde a solid 7/10 and will I come again? Absolutely"

"Place is fantastic, just as described and the host is very helpful and rapid to fix the one or two minor issues we encountered, WiFi quit working and we ran out of propane in the jacuzzi tub, but he was there 100% within minutes to address said inconvenient, we had a great time and will totally go back next time I’m in town visiting, the only thing be prepared for no AC and it does get hot, but the property has plenty of air flow, but it would be a millions times better if it had AC"
