“The Pondside Lodge was a splendid place to stay for our trip to South Dakota! The lodge is beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The living room picture window looks out over the pond and the Needles are clearly visible in the distance. It is a very relaxing location - quiet and lovely. “Restaurants very close. We walked. Room is great for 2 people. 2 kids could sleep on the pullout couch. Appreciated the smart tv. There is a hair dryer . No laundry. Base camp is a good name for it. A place to flop after a day outside. Nice mattress. Beautiful murals on doors. I felt safe as it was right next to a bank and I noticed a police car in adjacent parking lot. ”

A dehumidifier in the kitchen area blocked the oven door and a few electrical outlets raised concerns about safety based on the location of outlets. “This was a perfect non-hotel option for our road trip. It was a nice quiet neighborhood and perfectly located for easy access to downtown. Small kitchen allowed us to store foods and start our day with breakfast. The bath was perfect and the upstairs area was comfortable. We didn’t have time for the hot tub with full days of tourist activities, but it looked very inviting and was convenient. We had a great stay, and would highly recommend!”
