KOI Resort & Residence Da Nang - Inclusive Spa access
6/10 Okay
"Beautiful property. Kind & helpful staff.
I had an issue in our room. Found over a dozen bugs around both beds on our first night. They looked like fat maggots but I’m pretty sure they were actually maggots. Very unsettling. Shared video to front desk. Housekeeping came up to sweep them out the door. But nothing more. Housekeeping handed us bug spray and left. Unacceptable. After finding a few more crawling around the floor an hour later the front desk moved us to another room. Unfortunately the room was a bit of a downgrade from what I reserved. Nothing else was done. Management had not even apologized. The next day I contacted Expedia so I could be refunded the difference in room costs since I had been downgraded. Expedia called the hotel and Koi refused to refund the mere $14 dollar difference. Trust me I’m desperate for $14 it was more about the principle of fairness. Hours later I was called by someone in management and offered a better room & sent a fruit platter for our last night. I did get an apology. Sadly shuffling btwn several rooms we left behind 2 favorite tshirts & phone plug. Traveled across countries to relax only to go through this was disheartening.
I do not believe this is a common experience here but it still happened."
"Didn’t like the layout of the bathroom (no doors), but the massage facilities were top notch and the grounds were beautiful. Food was good but not top tier per se. "
"Goods:
Good mannered and helpful staff
Good quality breakfast buffet
Fantastic view from room
Simple and comfortable room design
To be improved:
Room and bathroom floor could be cleaner
Consider to add more workable space in bathroom e.g. to put toiletries, to hang bath and face towels
Consider installing door or partition for the shower stall so that water won't splash everywhere, so that bathroom can be used by more than 1 person at the same time
Consider using more opaque material for the window glass dividing the bathroom and the room to enable reasonable privacy. Current blinds used does not serve the purpose
Bads:
Terrible water pressure in shower; water could be suddenly very hot that burned the skin or suddenly very cold without warning, and the water temperature could not be controlled either. Will need to wait for a minute or longer until the water temperature turned back to a safe water temperature by itself before we could continue to shower!!
Both the shower and sink drainage could be blocked and caused water overflowed anytime for a long while then suddenly unblocked to drain the water, but the bathroom floor and sink area already messy wet everywhere!!"
"We booked a room with the shower and no bathtub but they “upgraded” us to the room with the bathtub. Bathtub layout is terrible. It’s super noisy by the beach especially at night and weekends (lots of loud noises speakers, lion dance, partying etc). Water pressure is really bad, there is hot water to you just have to wait for it to warm up. Service is great, Location great by beach. Next to expat area"
"Clean and well stocked room. Love the shower! Staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately Pool was closed. Suggest to have better selection for breakfast buffet and switch up everyday."
"I recently stayed at Novotel Danang Premier Han River and overall had a very pleasant experience. The hotel’s location in the city center is very convenient, with many restaurants, cafes, and bars all within walking distance. While it’s not directly on the beach, the coastline is only about a 10–15 minute drive away, making it easy to enjoy both the city and the beach areas.
One of the highlights of the property is the rooftop lounge, which has a stylish atmosphere and attracts a lively crowd in the evenings. The views are excellent and the ambiance is definitely worth experiencing, although I found the drinks to be fairly average and somewhat overpriced compared to the many great options elsewhere in Da Nang.
The breakfast buffet was truly enormous and offered an impressive variety of choices. Whether you prefer Western breakfast staples, Vietnamese dishes, fresh fruit, pastries, or made-to-order items, there was something for everyone. The breakfast staff in particular stood out for being exceptionally friendly, attentive, and welcoming every morning.
The rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable, though they are beginning to show their age in some areas and could benefit from a refresh and more detailed upkeep.
Overall, the hotel offers strong value thanks to its central location, excellent staff, and expansive amenities. I would happily stay again, especially for travelers looking to be in the heart of Da Nang rather than directly on the beach."
"It was a good hotel. Breakfast spread was a lot, room is clean. It can be quite noisy at night with the karaoke war around the hotel, but they usually stop at around 11.30 pm. Really appreciate the free shuttle bus from the hotel to the airport.
