Large perigourdine stone house in a small hamlet and its guest house very well exposed South-South East with very nice view of the surrounding valleys.
Large 11x5m swimming pool perfectly secured by its roller shutter. Heated from June to September. Jacuzzi in operation all year round.
Large covered terrace plus adjoining terrace with bread oven-barbecue plancha.
Very comfortable, very well equipped, very neat decoration. Household included. Linen not provided on request € 15 per person to be paid on site.
If you like peace and nature this house awaits you for a real vacation.

  • This will ever be known as the chateau of Josephine Baker. She had been a singer of international renown with an extraordinary career. Born in the States in 1906, she emigrated to France and became a citizen in 1937 when she married a Jew, but not before knowing the street life in America where she’d had to sleep in cardboard shelters and scavenge in garbage bins. For ten years she was the lead in the Folies Bergeres, and admired by all who saw her. Shirley Bassey once said, “I swear in all my life I have never seen, and probably never shall see again, such a spectacular singer and performer." During WWII She won the Croix de Guerre for her work with the French Resistance. When the Germans invaded France she moved to the chateau where she helped Belgian refugees and ultimately adopted 12 children. She was the first Afro-American to star in a major motion picture (Zouzou) and was the only female speaker in the civil rights march to Washington with Martin Luther King and was offered the lead in the movement when he was assassinated but she declined. When the builders refurbishing the chateau sent her almost broke, Grace Kelly, a close friend, offered her accommodation on the Riviera.

Partiellement satisfaits du séjour. La maison est super et le cadre magnifique, par contre les équipements sont très vetustes. Le sèche linge est hs. Les douches ne s'evacuent pas et des odeurs d'égouts sont persistantes. Les plats à four sont en mauvais état. Les canapés et fauteuils sont tout griffés. Le simili cuir des chaises intérieures est décomposé. A l'exterieur, les chaises autour de la table en fer sont en très mauvais état et dangereuses. Les flacons de produits ménagers sont quasi voir vides. Les prestations ne sont pas à la hauteur du coût de la location et même pas une petite attention d'accueil... Nous avons aussi oublié le fonctionnement aléatoire du jacuzzi et l'état du volet de la piscine....nous sommes très loin d'un gîte de charme. Nous deconseillons franchement !!!

Superbe logement avec des extérieurs magnifiques où le calme n'est interrompu que par la présence des chevreuils. L'emplacement près de nombreux sites à visiter nous a permis de profiter de cette région incroyable tout autant que de la maison. Merci aux propriétaires qui sont très accueillants et dont on sent qu'ils ont envie que nous profitions de ce temps de détente. Un superbe moment en famille

Magnifique !

Maison avec grande terrasse ombragée et jardin avec piscine et jacuzzi magnifique. Cuisine très bien équipée. Chambre dans la petite dépendance pratique. Chambre sous le toit pour les enfants (un peu chaud ...) Très belle grande chambre et SdB top ! Excellent emplacement pour visiter la région. Village de Daglan pratique avec boulanger et Proxi et en plus village caractère. Potier dans village à visiter sans faute (avec stage : à recommander !) Séjour à refaire !!!!!

Un havre de paix

Tout était réuni pour de belles vacances en famille... Maison et dépendance périgourdines avec beaucoup de charme, situées sur les hauteurs du village (5mn en voiture)... Piscine et jacuzzi privés très appréciables ... La vue sur les champs alentour est magnifique avec la visite régulière des chevreuils... La petite superette du village permet les courses d'appoint, et les autres commerces (supermarché, pharmacie, boulangerie/pâtisserie, bureau de tabac, station service etc...) sont à une 20aine de minutes en voiture... Nous remercions les hôtes pour leur accueil, leur disponibilité et leur réactivité, nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

Fabulous House

This was a pleasant surprise and I don’t think the pictures or description did it justice. We stayed with my Parents-in-law and the Annex worked perfectly to give them space. Kids loved the pool and the hot tub was a nice addition. Daglan is a lovely village to be close too as well.

Great stay!

We had a wonderful time here (2 adults plus dog). Plenty of space for a large family. The village of Daglan was pretty (and great meal at Le Petit Paris). Hosts welcomed us to the house and showed us how everything worked (despite the language barrier all was clear). Pool area was brilliant. Thank you very much for an enjoyable week!

Such a beautiful place

Loved it and would visit again. We visited during very hot weather, the air conditioning in the gite was perfect but n the upstairs bedroom it was very hot all night. The downstairs bedroom had a fan not air conditioning. The pool is stunning. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Idyllic setting. Fabulous property. Very relaxing.

Superb property for a relaxing break. Very picturesque property and private location. Great facilities and equipment. Separate cottage with double bed is part of the rental, would make a nice separate space for grandparents. Lovely pool and hot tub with plenty of space to spread out. Two super restaurants in village, 5 mins drive or 30 mins walk. Great Boulanger and grocery shop too. Probably the nicest property we have ever rented.

Très agréable séjour dans cette magnifique maison en Dordogne

Très belle maison dans le style de la région avec beaucoup de cachet (maison encore plus belle en vrai que sur les photos). La piscine est grande et l'eau à bonne température pour se baigner même fin septembre. Le studio séparé est un plus. Juste un petit bémol pour le Jacuzzi dont les jets ne fonctionnaient pas en 2ème semaine. Nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir !

Bel endroit mais les extérieurs à l'abandon

Bel endroit avec piscine agréable. Les extérieurs ne sont plus entretenus depuis longtemps... terrasse en mauvais état, le mobilier de jardin usé (chaises avec de la rouille et transats défraichis), plancha défectueuse, four à pain non utilisable... Air conditionné en panne dans une des chambres.
