Beautiful fall family retreat

This was our second stay at this property. It is very clean and well stocked with everything we needed for a quick weekend getaway with extended family. The property manager anticipated our needs, and even dropped off an extra propane tank for the grill before we even realized it was low. We hope to stay again soon.

Beautiful house and property

My family met here for my dad's 70th birthday. We went into Madison Saturday morning and enjoyed the house and property the rest of the weekend. It was very well stocked and a great place for kids and adults.

Annual Get Together

Oak House is a unique property ideally suited for family gatherings - this was our fourth stay. The house is roomy, well appointed, and decorated for the holidays. It also has access to nature trails for daily walks. The location has quiet privacy with quick access to activities in Madison. The property manager Rachel is very responsive. We highly recommend a stay here.

Surprise WOW around every corner!

We have been staying at VRBO properties for many, many years and have never found one to be as lavish and spectacular as this one. It was awesome for adults as well as for the kids.

Oak House sibling reunion

The property is beautiful and was so comfortable for all of us. It has everything you could want. We really enjoyed our time together there, whether hanging out in the screened porch, enjoying the fire pit on the patio, spending time in the kitchen or taking in our beautiful surroundings. We will plan another family trip here.

Best House.. ever!

We booked for our wedding weekend and it was the perfect house to host our entire wedding party. It truly put the icing on the cake for our entire wedding weekend. We couldn’t have found a better place! It was clean, had everything we needed (towels, kitchen supplies, etc) plus a hot tub! We already talked about booking for our anniversary some year and getting the crew back together.

Perfect in every way!

It is a must stay place! Everything was amazing. I made two huge holiday meals and we gathered in the beautiful space, experiencing the bird’s-eye view of the most enchanting forest you could imagine. We had everything we needed, it felt like home! The best place for large family!

We came back here to celebrate my mom’s 80th, after being here for my dad’s. It’s a great location for multiple families to come together. We had forgotten how perfect the house and setting are- just perfect! So much room, so many areas for everyone, and such an accommodating host. Rachel is the most friendly, responsive property manager and made sure things went smoothly. We had a great time in a very prepared home that had all of the essentials provided and then some! You can tell they truly care about their guests.

Family wedding bliss

We had our youngests sons wedding party in Stoughton Friday night, had family coming from Colorado and Michigan. Much better than any hotel, spacious yet quality time in so many places in this property. Loved that screened in porch. Had a most memorable experience. Grandchildren had a great time, hard to get them to sleep. Highly recommended! Thanks for the memories.

Family Thanksgiving 2023

Amazing property with great views and accessible hiking trails. Premium construction and furnishings. We were there for Thanksgiving and had plenty of room for adults and active grandchildren! Rachel was incredibly responsive in person and by phone. Some highlights of what we loved about the property; - kitchen well stocked with tools and appliances - drinking water service - unexpected surprises from the snacks in the pantry to the "kids clubhouse" under the stairs to the well stocked activity room (arts & crafts) and the playroom above the garage; outdoor basketball hoop and ping pong in garage. - the grounds… great views and hiking. Looking forward to another opportunity to stay here.

Best VRBO ever!

This property is outstanding! Every extra you could imagine was found in this house. Plenty of dishes and cooking items and all in great condition. Sometimes vacation rentals are stocked with subpar pots and pans, and that was not the case here. So many extra towels and blankets that made us so comfortable throughout our entire stay. Little touches like boxes of Kleenexes and candy and snacks made us feel so special. It was nice to have so many different spaces to spread out and yet have a big enough living area and dining room table to all gather together when we wanted to. It honestly felt like we were in a jazz up version of our own home. The property manager, Rachel helped us with every single thing we needed. I could not recommend this property more highly. Thanks for everything.

Welcoming home for a reunion

This home was exceptionally set up to host multiple families and friends for a reunion. The grounds are immaculately kept and have plenty of space to explore and take in the outdoors. The home has even more rooms and beds than expected which allowed everyone to have their own private space as is needed with multiple families. The property manager was incredibly responsive when we had questions preparing for our trip and during our stay. The home is also well equipped for kids with a playroom and several kid friendly farms and attractions nearby. Not to mention the abundance of outdoor equipment to entertain the whole family (bocce, frisbeegolf,basketball, badminton, pingpong, fat tire bikes and more). The kitchen was ample sized to cook meals for 10+ people, was stocked with all the storage containers anyone could need, and there were multiple fridges. We highly recommend staying here and would re-visit wisconsin again just to stay at this property!

Labor Day getaway

We spent Labor Day weekend at this beautiful house. We had plans to go out with our kids and their cousins to places like the Madison zoo and children’s museum, but once we got to the house, they had so much fun playing at the house that we didn’t venture out as much as we planned. The kitchen and pantry were well-stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals for our group of seven and seven kids. We loved the views and the quiet surroundings. Also, unfortunately, when we returned home, we realized my youngest’s favorite lovey hadn’t made it back into our bags. The property manager found it and mailed it back to us the next day! That was going above and beyond and saved us many sleepless nights. :) We hope to stay again and recommend this lovely house to all of our friends who need a quiet and stress-free getaway near Madison.

Wonderful Restful Vacation Home

Our group of six ladies thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's a beautiful large home on a quiet peaceful rural property. The home was spotless and everything was in good working condition. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of pots and pans and supplies, so that we were able to cook a nice dinner for our group one evening. There are several small towns close by with a variety of restaurants from casual to fancy, and we really enjoyed the friendly vibe from everyone that we met in the local area. We had a very interesting tour at Hinchley's Dairy Farm one afternoon, and we were even able to try milking a cow! The house is about 25 minutes from Madison, and we enjoyed a visit to the lovely state capitol, and the nearby U of WI campus. We also visited the Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville, a nice place to stop for a few hours. But most of all we loved just hanging around the house - there are two separate spaces for gathering, with lots of cozy seating, and a game room if you need more entertainment. Rachel was quick and easy to communicate with, and she answered all of our questions. I hope to return to this beautiful place again!

Surprising Luxury: We Didn’t Want To Leave!

We arrived early for a family reunion and wedding in nearby Stoughton and were pleased with the extras that enhanced our stay. Not sure where to begin. The house is awesome and the furniture and beds are comfortable, clean, and have everything you and your party will need. The hot tub was comfortable and large and easy to figure out. Plenty of towels too. And bath robes in the bathrooms too. Fire pits - two in the back were there with everything but the marshmallows. Wonderful grounds to walk around and saw plenty of birds including a couple of cranes (or possibly blue herons) flew by each day. The kids played b-ball in the lower garage driveway and Jake came away as the Champ. My niece brought here 19-month old and they both loved the playroom / bedroom over the garage. Dolls, dress up and toys - great area for the little one. Plenty of games and TVs to enjoy and make new memories both in the downstairs area and the large, open concept living area. The kitchen had everything we needed, including some staples (EVOO) and more spices than we have at home. Plus a stash of candy. Which I was sorely tempted - it was like Halloween! Our family had a great time and really enjoyed this home. Not sure how we would top this reunion since the owners have set the bar very high for any other property, whether in the Madison area or elsewhere. Kudos to Joe and His team! Highly recommend this property!!
