We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this condo! I could wake up to that view everyday. The amenities were excellent as well. We cooked fish on the grill, hung out by the beautiful pool, listened to live music and enjoyed hours of watching our kids enjoy the sand and surf. We will definitely be back soon!

There was only 1 working elevator our entire stay. Made it hard to get out at 10 am. That 1 elevator could have been cleaned more frequently. The plugs in the second bedroom and bathroom would only work intermittently. I had to work from my computer in the common area. It also smelled like an older home whenever walking in initially. Also the instructions could have been more simplistic. It would be a good thing if the bathrooms and kitchen were updated as well as the master bed. It was freezing cold during the daytime and hot overnight. I was unable to control the temperature. Other than that I enjoyed my stay. The condo was clean. The owners were very quick to respond.

Perfect getaway!

I brought my goddaughter and visiting 5yr old granddaughter to Destin for a short vacay. This property was perfect for us. It was private with gated access so it felt safe and exclusive. The view was decent as we could see the main pool and parts of the beach. The pool and beach access was so convenient and just what we needed. The location was convenient to restaurants and stores. I would definitely stay here again.

Silver Shells Beach Resort

We've been vacationing in the Santa Rosa to Destin area for 30 years, renting houses and condos at various locations depending on the size of our party. The resort is great resort in a central location for all of our vacation needs. The condo we rented had great TVs, comfortable beds and new appliances. Beyond that it was below average.

clean , spacious place! Perfect for those with smaller children who need to be able to run around vs a hotel room. Only down fall is from the pictures of be ordering condo, I was lead to believe that once. I walked out of our condo we would be onto the beach, that there was an indoor pool, and the outlet was right beside us. Other than that, great stay!

The resort and amenities were fantastic — beautiful location, gorgeous beach, great pool, well-equipped gym, and even pickleball courts. The condo layout was perfect for four adults, and we loved having plenty of space.That said, a few things could be improved. The rug is due for replacement, and the bedrooms tend to run warm in the evenings when the doors are closed.Our trip overall was wonderful, but if we could do it again, we would rent directly through Compass Rentals. Before our stay, I emailed the owner a few times about renting beach chairs, an umbrella, and a cooler. The responses I received were generic Google search links to local rental companies. What I wasn’t told — and only learned upon arrival — is that non-resort umbrellas aren’t allowed. The resort rents chairs and umbrellas at a steep rate (70–120 per day for 4 chairs and 2 umbrellas, which adds up to around 500 extra for a week). When booking through Compass Rentals, 2 chairs and 1 umbrella are included in the package at no extra charge, and their condo rental rates are comparable or less. Overall, we had a great stay and loved the property — just wish we’d known about the chair and umbrella policy before booking.

Amazing!!

I just recently stayed at ST. Lucia in unit #1002. My wife and I took our two children ages six and one. The condo was immaculate and very well kept. It was very spacious and very clean. There were enough supplies for our four day stay and we found it to be in a convenient location. The condo is right next to Henderson State Park which is listed at Destin's #1 place to visit. It was our first time in Destin and the free pass through explorie helped a lot. The view from the condo itself gives you two different angles at the beach as the buildings direct view is blocked. It was a great view nonetheless. They have gated access which is always a plus for us as we worry about security. Loved our stay and would definitely stay again and recommend. We had no complaints about our stay!!.

Had a bit of a snafu with the door code initially, but RealJoy was able to resolve it in about 30 minutes. The property was as advertised, very nice and clean. The kitchen was well equipped in terms of dishes and appliances. The full size washer/dryer were nice and worked well. Bedrooms were large with lovely views, and the sliding doors from each room to the balcony were very nice. The property itself is nice, the large pool area was lovely and so was the beach. A little crowded, but it was spring break so that is expected. The health club area was a bit disappointing with several of the machines being broken for the duration of our stay. A few small additions would make the stay next level at minimal cost. We were provided a generous amount of bath towels (I think we got 8?), but we were only given 4 hand towels for 4 guests for a week which was definitely not enough. There was a blanket for the bed in the "guest" room but not in the master??? Just a sheet and a bedspread. Providing some basic beach chairs and towels would be great too, as the beach rentals available at Silver Shells are ridiculously priced. Also a basic drying rack for swimsuits would be really helpful! Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property.

Beautiful place to stay

The only reason why I am not rating this place with a 5 start is simple because of the 4 o'clock check in time. I understand about the cleaning crew needs time to clean. However I've been to some upscale condos and the majority places I believe don't need that much time to clean. I believe if it is a good cleaning staff, I'm pretty sure they can get the job done earlier. Considering people travel from far places and would love an earlier check in time. Other then that, the place is AWSOME!!! I would recommend this place to EVERYONE! We drove 10 hours to get there and once we arrived at the condo, my children needed to use the restroom. And to find out we had no water. However we learned once you arrive to your condo, you will need to call the water department (number and information is on the fridge) to turn on your water. And in the middle of out stay our water turned off unexpectedly again. But as soon as you notify maintance, I was very impressed how fast they got the water tuned right back on. Other then those little issues, I will definitely be coming back. Despite the check in ( I wish they will change) and the water being turned off (twice), the home and the location makes up for it. RENT...RENT....RENT from them!

My feet got dirty walking around the condo. I hate dirty feet. I vacuumed four times and have pictures to show the enormity of the issue. I bought a wet jet and mopped twice--have pictures of the dirty pads. [the mop there was molded] I bought cleaner and disinfectant for the shower, countertops, and sinks. There was hair in the bathroom drawers, but that was not terrible. I did have to buy hand soaps, dishwasher detergent, and trash bags as well. I'm not OCD, but I like things to be clean. The bed linens were fine. But we enjoyed the beach, the facilities, the quietness, and the location. We had friends that owned a place in one of the beachfront buildings, so I picked that property. It just needs to be cleaned. I would have the carpets cleaned before the owner uses the space for certain. This will not prevent us from renting there again.
