If only we could control how people drive….sadly not everyone drives appropriately for a rural road where pavements are not standard ☹️. Generally speaking the road is light in traffic and doesn’t detract from enjoyment of Rookery Nook. Glad that you enjoyed your stay in general.

It is such a shame when guests don’t care for the property and it’s content. No doubt you read the notice in the kitchen that specifically reminds guests to return crockery/cutlery to the cupboards in a clean state. We can’t check every item between guests. It would have been nice if you had told us personally rather than rely on this public review for something largely beyond our control. With regard the garden, we do strike a balance between keeping the garden looking attractive whilst also welcoming dogs. We’ve had so many guests with dogs and plenty that return. We had an enormous St Bernard not long ago! Whilst our dog policy states that they should not be left on their own in the property, we did bend this rule for you when you stated you’d bring crates for both your dogs so you could pop out for a meal. A bit of give and take is good. Good luck with your house hunting.

We were trying to avoid reviewing this guest, and hoping she would decide not to review us in return. But unfortunately that’s not the case. We bent over backwards to accommodate her, help her through the booking process which she messed up time and again and confused us with other bookings she had made. She chopped and changed dates, and then when here caused more difficulties. We would not welcome her back. Please read all our other excellent reviews, and take this lady with a very large pinch of salt.

To future guests: Please read this review in context of all the other 5 star reviews. Cleanliness is not an issue that has ever been raised before, in fact the opposite, and obviously we are concerned at the comments here. It is a shame the decor and furniture were not to these guests taste, but plenty of returning guests find Rookery Nook comfortable and well appointed. We are pleased however, that other aspects of Rookery Nook and the locality were to these guests liking. Thank you.
