Perfect house and setting for an unforgettable holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the nice and comfortable house of Rita. Practically everything was present to enjoy our stay in beautiful Ireland. Also nice to have, was the Half Barrel at walking distance. Nice food and Guiness!

Very nice house and lovely location

We had a wonderful 10 day stay at this beautiful location. It was a good starting point for many trips to the west coast. Also the lake view from the main room is absolutely marvellous. We would recommend this house.

A nice house at the lake

We really enjoyed staying at this property. And the view of the lake from the living room was always very beautiful. There is a great pub and two shops for all necessities in Whitegate near by. The property is perfect if you want to explore the Lough Derg.

The place was beautiful. The lake was so relaxing after our days driving around Ireland. The house was clean and tranquil. Rita was very responsive with questions and Teresa was a big help with the local area. Highly recommended.

Wonderful holiday let

We stayed here with 2 friends and our two collie dogs. A truly lovely house that I can fully recommend for those with dogs or families. Also a lovely area to explore. The Snug in Mountshannon is a lovely place to eat or to collect a takeaway. Half Barrel pub within walking distance sells good food. Portumna Forest Park , about 30 minutes away, a really great place to walk. All in a fabulous holiday

Lovely location

This is our second time here. Family including 93 yr old dad. Lovely location by Cregg Lake. Lovely views. We went canoeing and fishing! Beds comfortable. Loads of kit for cooking etc. Her family lives next door and cut lawns etc, and are also very helpful in an emergency! Can’t recommend highly enough. Rita, the owner iss also very helpful.

Expectations exceeded

We all loved this property, beautiful, peaceful setting, incredibly comfortable and hosts were responsive to all communications. The photos do not do it justice. This is the first VRBO property that I have felt this way about. Most other property’s photos seem more spacious and sunnier. This one is better in person. It's an amazing place. Stayed with 4 other friends, all older, and we hated leaving. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Whitegate Lake House - Amazing

We had a amazing holiday, the house is the most well equiped we have ever stayed in, Rita has literally thought of everything you may need. The beds are wonderful and comfortable. I travelled with my 80 year old mum and my 11 and 8 year old children. They loved the space. The position of the house is just beautiful, waking up to the panoramic lake view each morning and watching the sunsets was a highlight! The house is ideally situated for sightseeing we visited the Cliffs of Moher. Lahinch, Spanish point, Killaloe, Kilrush, Kilkee and Adare to visit family. Thank you for an unforgetable.holiday.

Beautiful house, stunning location, a perfect match

The house and site are fabulous and located in a beautiful quiet part of Co. Clare. We sat on evenings sipping wine and watching the swallows dancing across the lake at the bottom of the garden. Two swans and water lilies, all gently floating. Facing west, the garden/ patio and sitting room are warmed by the evening sun. On the first morning at 5am, I saw a red deer doe grazing on the opposite side of the lake and on the following mornings in the garden! I loved the interior shape of the house, the decor, furnishings and art. The positioning of the chairs in the bay window overlooking the lake is ideal for taking-in the view. The lakeside bedroom has the most wonderful en-suite, a fab bath as well as a shower. Love the beds, mattresses and really fresh linen. The kitchen, galley in shape, is not to be underestimated , it is the best in any house I have ever rented - fully equipped - although, I managed to restrain myself from cooking every day. Great library bookcase. Garden is looking splendid. A few steps away from the Half Barrel pub and a great hub location for the area, Ennis in 40 mins. Pick up an excellent pizza and salad in the Snug in Mount Shannon if you have been out for a day or better still, sit and eat - the atmosphere is great in the Snug or across the road in the pub restaurant. Have booked the house for next year. Thanks, Rita.

Fabulous

Lovely Rural Ireland

Lovely house on a beautiful lake! The swans on the lake made it super picturesque. The house is a bargain for the number of rooms, bathrooms and living space. Short walk to wonderful dining spot The Half Barrel. Be aware u are in rural Ireland so Galway. Dublin or Limerick are over an hour drive away on what can be teeth clenching roads. Rita the owner is easy to message and responds quickly.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. La maison est très belle et l'emplacement devant le lac exceptionnel. Pour les activités alentours, il faut aimer le calme, la campagne et les randos. Le pub local est extra!

Spacious property with great views
