「The property is situated near North Berwick and has beautiful gardens. The building itself is a bit tired. Our room was disappointing for the grade of hotel. Coffee facilities were basis (one packet of two pieces of shortbread to share!). The cooked breakfast was lovely but the continental selection was very poor compared to similar hotels and given that one of the main selling points of the hotel is the Chez Roux restaurant. Cleanliness not what we would have expected either - some litter...

「I liked the room food and mini fridge options for breakfast and snacks. Suited my early departure plan. Also I was able to put my bike inside at reception ground level., since it’s a small on street building. The room was functional but the sink had a slight smell which would be good to investigate. Great position.」

「Though an old building, it is very well maintained. Very clean and the host (Alice) very friendly and helpful. it is beautifully placed and our room overlooked the Musselburgh Racecourse/ golfing green. Breakfast (though continental) was very nice and you were able to choose what you wanted and at what time and this was brought up to your room in a lovely basket. Our whole stay there was lovely and would definitely stay there again :)」

「Thanks to the host and their lodge, we had a wonderful time! We had the chance to observe the cows, we really enjoyed it. The room had all the amenities needed, we were able to make ourselves dinner during our stay. That was a plus for us. The parking was accessible and the check in message they sent us had all the necessities to access the propriety. It is a must if you are going to visit that part of Scotland!」
