Perfect home for vacation stay.

We loved everything about our stay here. It’s the perfect location exactly halfway between Appalachacola and St George Island. Home is clean and has all the amenities you would want for a vacation stay. We will definitely stay here again on our trips back to SGI.

True nature lovers dream

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful. The property is amazing. There are all kinds of wildlife in the marsh area between the beach and the house. We loved it

Our new place

We had a wonderful stay at Hook wine and sinker! Short drive to beaches, shopping and restaurants! Fresh seafood within minutes from property to prepare at the home. Very quiet neighborhood! We all enjoyed evenings of playing games, swinging under the trees and watching for wildlife! Would definitely recommend!

If you like quiet, clean and close to nature this is perfect.

We loved everything about this VRBO. Amenities were perfect, we were provided with every comfort of our own home. We were looking for something away from the crowds and noise and this place did not disappoint. The serene view from the back porch is worth every penny along with the convenience of St George and Apalachicola so close by. Thank you!

We really enjoyed exploring this peaceful beautiful piece of property- Sitting in the hot tub at sunset and watching the bald eagle and other wildlife while the kids played on the swing was my favorite! The house was very clean and it was so nicely decorated! We made the very scenic short drive to Apalachicola and St George almost every day for shopping and fresh seafood. We loved that we could take the dogs with us everywhere! We hated to leave but hope to be back very soon. Make sure to visit Lynn’s right down the road for the best service and oysters!

The cute little pond, all the fruit trees, the critters that are all over. We really enjoy the otters. They really are entertaining. The house is well stocked, and was perfect for us, and our friends from Tennessee. Kitchen table was used for card games after dinner, the island was our puzzle table. And the rental people are the absolute best!! Always friendly, always helpful. We booked with them again, for next year.

Wow. Just book this place now!! It’s absolutely stunning, a slice of Heaven on earth! Extremely well equipped (we cooked a full Thanksgiving feast), tons a space, very comfortable beds, wonderful shower pressure, the views are unreal! Access to the bay on the property, incredible sunsets, 6 min to St George and 8-9 min to Apalach. We saw bears every evening and a bunch of other critters. They ran fast when they saw us and didn’t cause any issues with our dogs. We will definitely be back! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.

Heaven on Earth

Do not hesitate, or look for other rental properties, and certainly don’t split your vacation time with another rental, as you will not find a better gem of a location! The rental management company went above and beyond in communication, efficiency, and were just wonderful to work with. Every detail in the house and property is top notch! The game room/laundry area/man cave is pure fun! The furniture was not the comfiest, but that didn’t matter one iota as all our time was spent outside. I wish I would’ve booked a longer time there, as leaving this place was painful.

The house was super cute, not overly huge and barren, like some places we stay. It was quaint, cute decor, and the perfect size for us and our friends. The home owner did an excellent job with labeling lights, and the amenities were phenomenal. The property was great, with a pond (and river otters!). We see a few bears, but the bears kept their distance, as we did also. A nice little walk to the private beach in the bay. Great sunsets. And still super close to stores and restaurants. Great vacation in the perfect house.

Home Away From Home

The house was beautiful inside and loved sitting on the screened in back porch every morning enjoying all the nature and view of the bay. The owners provided their guests with a detailed binder to popular attractions, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. It was the little things that they did, that made it so nice! The house was very clean and everything that you need for a week long stay which makes for light traveling and an easy trip. This property offers a $250 credit toward beach gear to use during your time there which was awesome so that we did not have to bring our own beach chairs and umbrella. While at St. George Island we enjoyed the beach, State Park, and the various shops and attractions on the Island. Definitely would recommend this property for a family atmosphere and would be interested in future stays at this property and St. George Island.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This place exceeded my expectations! It was so beautiful with lots of wildlife. We saw otters, all kinds of birds, and bears. The owners have made a little pathway to the shoreline. Take some crocs or boots because it is a little wet getting out there but totally worth the effort! The home is nicely furnished and decorated to provide an upscale but comfortable experience. The beds were all comfortable, even the twin bunk beds have comfortable mattresses. The pillows were nice and the linens were soft. I have food allergies, so cooking on vacation is a must and I found everything I needed in the kitchen to make delicious meals! The house was super clean and smelled really fresh. I made a note of the air filter they are using. Even after we cooked seafood, by the next day the smell was gone. It was quick and easy to get to St. George Island from this location as well as other local attractions. In the evenings the sunsets were spectacular! We were able to bring our doodles and the girls really enjoyed their stay too! The owners have created a wonderful indoor and outdoor space to enjoy the best the Forgotten Coast has to offer! If you want to be immersed in a true Florida living experience, this is the place to stay!

From the moment we walked in the door and found our wonderful welcome gift to when we had to leave, everything was perfect. The bike rental was also a huge plus. And it was convenient! Had the rental not been included, it’s something we may have never tried. But we did and had the best time biking. It brought back childhood memories for me and my adult daughter. We highly recommend. All the amenities were as described and so much more!!!

Peaceful

What a great place to relax and unwind after a day at the beach or exploring the near by towns. We even drove over to Panama City Beach for the day and had a nice, quiet place to come back to.

Unexpected surprise

It was a pleasant surprise to see how spacious the house was for our family. The owners were very accommodating with providing a book of things to do and places to eat on the island. it is a beautiful area to vacation. We hope to be able to return next year.

Beautiful view from back deck!

The house was very clean and updated with everything you would need (except for the groceries…lolol) Beautiful scenery and the location was great. We could see the bay from the deck. Beautiful sunrise every morning. Glad we read the sign by the bridge in backyard over the canal..be aware of wildlife and please don’t feed them. We saw a bear, up close and an alligator in the canal, beautiful eagle, owl, raccoons, squirrels and a couple of foxes. Awesome, but a little scary when the bear came to the driveway in front of the house, of course we probably scared him too because he ran off quickly. All of the people in the town were really friendly.
