I have never stayed at a B&B before. A wonderful surprise. A warm and extremely helpful host, comfortable accomdations, great breakfast, and a great way to enjoy a stay in a great city.

Les propriétaires sont supers, très gentils et aux petits soins. Ils font un super petit déjeuner servi à table. L'hôtel est un peu excentré mais il y a un arrêt de bus juste en face, en 10mn on est au centre ville.

Sometimes, being a few more minutes outside the hustle and bustle of the city centre makes 94DR perfect ...:) You're so right - a bus service 2 mins away only takes 10 mins to the city centre and all it's attractions. Thank you again for choosing us - delighted breakfast lived up to a Parisian couples expectations - lol - it was a delight cooking for you both :) P & J XX

Absolutely brilliant
Well we are heading home and am writing a review i can’t wait to share! This is a beautiful boutique hotel!! Just Amazing.... the care and attention to guests it’s so heartwarming. Paul and Johnny are such lovely people! Accommodation beautifully finished, the communal areas, orangery and house is gorgeous and decorated with flair and taste. You may even be lucky enough to meet molly! The food served for breakfast was phenomenal and hand crafted with care, thought and passion by Paul. If you ever go to Edinburgh, stay here it’s just fabulous. 20 minute walk to the centre. Very highly recommended, a must!! Never have we been made to feel so welcome.

We were unfortunately only there for one night but would have liked to stay longer. The hosts were wonderful and one of the best breakfasts we have ever had at a guest house. Porridge was delicious!

Very friendly hosts, and a superb breakfast every morning. Close to public transport a few minutes travel to the city relaxing lounge to enjoy a quiet drink. Exceptionally clean rooms and bathroom.

Perfect place for a weekend stay in Edinburgh!
This is the second time we have stayed at 94DR and couldn’t recommend it more! We’ve stayed in the small room both times as it’s the best value for money, so it was a little small but perfectly fine for the 2 of us considering we didn’t spend that much time in the room. Paul and John are awesome and are so helpful sharing their extensive local knowledge (especially around where to eat!). It’s a great location as it’s out of the city centre but with a bus stop right outside the front door. We never waited more than a few minutes for a bus and getting an Uber into the city centre was also quick and easy. Breakfast was absolutely lovely, and Mollie the dog really added to the overall charm!

The House and rooms are amazing, very clean, cosy and decorated. The two hosts John and Paul are very caring, helpful, funny and downright lovely. And the breakfast, each morning indivdually prepared by Paul and John, is an absolute treat!

This place is a jewel!
94 DR is an amazing boutique setting. We received wonderful service for an entire week. Lovely setting, very comfortable. Bonus was the gorgeous morning meals, provided by our hosts. Gourmet, yet nutritious and delicious. Finally, we received incredibly helpful services - car services, restaurant reservations, recommendations for memorable outings, etc. One of our favorite stays anywhere!

We really liked the owners. John and Paul were extremely helpful suggesting restaurants and transportation options for getting around. The breakfast was excellent. The bed was very comfortable. Our particular room was on the small side but the lounge area on the main level provided a comfortable place to relax and to possibly partake of an array of fine beverages.

Wonderful hotel!
I have never met such nice hotel owners! Paul and John are extremely helpful and welcoming! The breakfast is one of the best I have ever eaten, now i understand why everyone praises it! A modern and nice hotel with a familiar feeling. We will be back!

Excellent stay
We had a wonderful stay. John and Paul are excellent hosts. Our rooms were beyond clean and well appointed. Paul is a terrific cook and made us some fabulous breakfasts. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

Nous avons beauoup aimé notre séjour de 3 nuits au 94DR. Style mélant à la fois le côté contemporain et le charme de l'ancien. Superbe vue sur Arthur's Seat depuis notre chambre. Les petits déjeuners étaient exceptionnels, les meilleurs de nos 2 semaines en Ecosse et pris dans une belle orangerie. Accueil avenant de la part de Paul à notre arrivée. On se sent tout de suite bien au 94DR ! Un grand merci à Paul et John.

Ett riktigt trevligt litet ”guesthouse”. Mysig inredning, kanongod frukost. En ca 20min promenad från stadskärnan om man vill gå. Eller ta bussen rätt utanför dörren. Kan varmt rekommendera detta till alla par som besöker Edinburgh och som vill ha lugn och ro.

It was our first visit in Scotland and we started our journey at John's and Paul's place - what a great choice we made with it!!! The place is so stylish, the welcome so friendly, the room very comfortable and the breakfast simply excellent! Can only recommend it - we were sorry to leave after only one day, we would have loved to stay longer. No wonder that we will go ther again some time in the future!

"I'll be back"
Stay here only if you like attention to detail, gourmet breakfast and awesome hosts. For the not-so-sure about staying in a bnb people, this guesthouse is a great place to cut your teeth. It is a lil bit to walk to tourist areas, so if you're not a walker the bus stop is right in front of the house and gets you there for 1.70. The king bed is firm, pillows are down, sheets are crisp and comfy. Breakfast was so delicious and beautifully presented that it really set the bar for eating breakfast period! Excellent coffee and had gf/df options.

Wow! A gem of a place. A great find.
Where to begin? Just Wow, I guess! A phenomenal stay from start to end. What great guys Paul and John are, their passion for their property, for Edinburgh and their guests just shines through. Breakfasts are meals you would be willing to jump on another flight for just for them (even across the pond). I stayed during Fringe festival and they made sure to tell me areas to head to to get my feet wet. And explore from there. Filling them in on my days adventure was another highlight of my trip, and this was for every guest. Such a welcoming place. Room was very nice and a comfy bed. I stayed in a double bed room, plenty of room for 1 person, and would be enough for a couple too. What a place, well done Paul, John (and Mollie)!

ALT var bra! Dette er et lite, men utrolig personlig hotell. Beliggenheten i Dalkeith Road i Edinburgh er super. Det er busstopp rett utenfor døra, bussen tar bare noen minutter inn til byen. Dessuten tar det bare ca 25 minutter og gå til eller fra Royal Mile. DR94 har bare noen få rom. Rommet vårt hadde utsikt mot den hyggelige hagen og var mer eller mindre støyfritt! Og rent og pent. Da vi ankom ble vi møtt av en strålende opplagt, hyggelig og imøtekommende vert, Paul, og vi følte oss «hjemme» umiddelbart! Og slik var det hver dag! Til frokost møtte vi den andre verten, John, like hyggelig og sjarmerende han også. Og så hilste vi på Miss Mollie, vertskapets fine hund. Frokosten er noe helt for seg selv, vi har aldri opplevd noen bedre frokost noe sted! Paul «kreerer» de flotteste rettene en kan tenke seg, både for øye og gane, og både han og John sørger for at gjestene rett og slett har det veldig bra! DR94 anbefales på det sterkeste💚 Vi kommer tilbake!

Beautiful accommodations near everything.
The accommodations were fantastic with everything you could ask for. Clean, and classy deocr, comfortable beds etc. Walking distance to parks, shops and Old town Edinburgh.The best part of all were the two owners. Their honest and sincere hospitality made you feel welcome and at home. The breakfasts made you never want to leave! Just a really great overall experience! We can't say enough good about this place and the people.

Paul and John run this exceptional B&B. They prepare original, delicious breakfasts and every day there is a different home-cooked theme. The rooms are clean, and care and attention are given to all elements of hospitality. If it were possible to rate this 15 out of 10 stars -- I WOULD! You are within walking distance of the Royal Mile and Castle; Paul is happy to sketch out ways to spend your time in Edinburgh. You will love this lodging!
