We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Murrayfield! Rodica was a wonderfully welcoming front desk host and we adored the property (which is actually 3 individual historic buildings). The restaurant catered fully to our needs with options for vegans and gluten free choices. The room itself was beautiful, quiet and cozy with everything we needed. One of our favorite stays in Scotland and definitely suggest staying here if you have a car and don't want to be worrying about parking in the heart of Edinburgh. The bus stop was just a few steps from our room and took us straight into the heart of Edinburgh in less than 10 minutes. The Murrayfield neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. Would absolutely stay again! Thank you!

Stayed several times in the past and always enjoyed it. This time was very disappointing room very small no room to put anything. The two biggest complaints are the breakfast and service was very poor. I found it disappointing that the American way of adding a service charge on in the restaurant without pointing it out upsetting especially as in the past the Murrayfield was always excellent and we always looked forward to visiting. Not anymore

it is a lovely hotel, huge room and even although there was a huge sporting event happening, we did manage to find parking. The staff is very lovely and friendly. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and delicious food. We very much enjoyed our stay here.

The staff at the bar were very slow; we waited for 10 minutes to order our drinks. Additionally, the breakfast service was slow, and we waited for half an hour. The fried eggs were solid and hard. Furthermore, our room was tiny, and it was excessively warm because the radiator was on, and we couldn't turn it off.

Fabulous breakfast on the doorstep of Murrayfield
Wonderful hotel, ideally located for the stadium, literally a couple of minuutes walk away. Room was huge (family room), bathroom was very nice but works better for couples - the glass doors right in front of the beds were a little weird. Breakfast was awesome, freshly cooked plus buffet option. Best value breakfast I've had in a long time. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Would strongly recommend.

I bought a night at the Murrayfield Hotel for my very good friend for her Christmas. We checked in and was given her key for room 19. We were so excited to see the room before venturing out with family. We found the room very basic and tired looking. There was a stain on the white bedding, the curtains were very frayed. There was a stain on the seat at the dresser and also a stain on the box at the bottom of the bed. However my friend thought the breakfast was great. She was well taken care of and had a a great selection of continental and hot breakfasts to choose from.

A little home away from home
This is my second stay at the Murrayfield in just a few weeks for work and it’s honestly become a home away from home. There are so many room types and options to suit everyone, the staff are so warm and welcome and the rooms are so comfortable. It’s beautifully done at Christmas time and the staff always go above and beyond to help. Always happy to stay here.

Beautiful stay at the Murrayfield
Never stayed at the murrayfield but had to make a last minute booking for 3 days and I was not disappointed. The room was fairly large in size, with a a wall length tv, sofa, dressing area and separate shower room. All super clean and comfortable. The hotel is on the main road in to the city centre which took approx 15/20mins so really handy for getting around. Beautiful at Christmas time and the staff were so welcoming and friendly.

I stayed here for my birthday trip to Edinburgh with my husband. The room was lovely however we did have a love/hate relationship with the heating as the room was cold on arrival then hot when we had the heating on. It was purely controlled by the radiators and was on 24/7 so was quite hard to manage. The breakfast was great and the Scottish breakfast was particularly amazing. There was a great selection and variety. The busses from outside the hotel were every 10 minutes so provided a great link to the city centre. The room and hotel was clean and well maintained. Our room (202) could however benefit from some privacy glass as our window looked out into a courtyard and we could see in from the hallway when we checked. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming - we would definitely stay here again.

Very disappointing
The carpets were atrocious. Looked like someone had dumped bodily fluids. The floor also looked like sparkles were all over like a vacuum didn’t work. The window in the bathroom had no shade and looked across to someone’s apartment. The thermostat would not go lower than 21 and the room was quite hot. The window would only stay open when propped up.

Lovely hotel in a great location with free parking
Having read some of the reviews on here, I was a little concerned and didn't have particularly high expectations. However, this place was really lovely. We had a fabulous, clean spacious room with a view onto the stadium across the road. The bed was comfy, which is a really important factor for me. We ate dinner in the restaurant the first night and it was lovely. We also ate breakfast both days, which was amazing. The hotel itself is in a fabulous location, with regular buses into town. You can also get the tram from the other side of the stadium. The area of Murrayfield is quiet and mainly residential, but there are some shops, pubs, and restaurants around. The free parking was a huge plus for us. The only negative is that the walls are a little thin and you can hear neighbours, but I think this is true of most hotels. Would definitely stay again, thank you.

When we checked in, the front desk guy was great! He gave us recommendations for the area and was so so nice! Place was clean and had an old feel about it, so we had to walk up a few flights to our room (front desk guy offered to carry our luggage). The room was small (to be expected as the building was very old) and a bit warm. There was a fan and a window though. They worked out well. We added breakfast to be included in our stay… everything was very good! Ate dinner there one night too. Yummy! We walked to the city center a couple times, then took the bus (easy to navigate). The bud stop was right outside the hotel. I’d stay again, for sure!

An amazingly different kind of hotel. Very nice staff, large room, fully equipped. Minor issues on curtains and bed-cover. Free parking in the backyard. Very good breakfast, esp. the egg benedict!

Overall: 9/10 Our room was behind the hotel so we could hear the trash bins every morning. Hotel Condition: Looks old from the outside but inside it's very modern and chic Location: Easily accessible. It's a 30 mins drive from the airport, right outside there's 2 bus stops and not too far is a tram station. There's a small Tesco nearby as well. Room: Was a bit small but it honestly doesn't matter because we're outside the whole day. I say it's perfect for one or two persons. Bathroom: The shower was an overhead type which was difficult to use if you're female and want to be extra clean in the area. The place has lots of stairs, no elevators for the people who have lots/big/heavy luggages, just a head's up.
