Very friendly owner. He helped me with transportation, cutting the fruit, very quick reply via WhatsApp. If you like to be in the center of city this is a good place. On the other hand you always hear road and music, so not that quiet.

Beautiful place, perfect location close to Ella (but still quiet in the evening) and fantastic hospitality. We wish we were staying for longer.

Wonderful place! Walking distance to the restaurants and main street ... poomaz is sooo nice you ask for anything and u will have it in front of ur door in one minute! The breakfast is delicious, room spacious and so clean! You will feel at home. We even wanted to have some laundry but it was too late in the evening and the second day we were leaving he suggested to do our clothes in his private washing machine! I highly recommend the place

Great view, close to city but quiet
We had reserved at Poomaz but lost it at the last minute. Poorna helped us find another place for the night. On the second night we stayed at Poomaz. The room was clean and had a beautiful view. Breakfast was delicious. The location was perfect away from the city. The only downside was some barking dogs in the middle of the night but the owners made them stop. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.

Thank you for a wonderful stay, Poorna. A great location in Ella, 1-2 minutes walk (down a steep hill) to the main street and perfectly located for hiking to Ella Rock/Nine Arch Bridge/Little Adam’s Peak. Clean, tidy rooms, large fridge, no air con but this wasn’t needed in Ella. Poorna arranged local trips for us via tuk tuk, very cheap laundry facilities, gave us advice about the area and the best routes to take for our hikes. He made contact via WhatsApp before our arrival and had our room ready for us early (no extra charge). He was responsive to messages quickly with helpful responses to our questions about our stay and the area. Breakfast was varied and delicious, made by him and his wife, served on our balcony. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Ella - from experience it was much better to stay just a few minutes off the Main Street, much quieter and beautiful views toward Ella Rock from the room.

Amazing!
Amazing stay during our honeymoon trip. The host was super attentive to our requests and even surprised us with a cake to celebrate the occasion! Wonderful stay overall, great location - absolutely recommend! We stayed at 5 star resorts through our trip and this little gem in Ella was still one of our favorites!

Right in the heart of Ella
Our stay at Poomaz Peace Palace was amazing! Poomer is such a great host. He helped us with what sights to see around Ella and how to get to them. He even drove us to our next destination! The rooms were nice and clean. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Ella. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Don’t miss this place - absolutely incredible
This place was all I could ask for and more. Clean rooms, modern shower and bathroom with hot water, prefect central location, amazing balcony overlooking the mountains (unbelievable sunsets), and most importantly - amazing hosts that will help you with everything you need (they helped me get my laundry done asap, among other things). The homemade breakfast is delicious and unique, and you can choose when to have it right outside your room. I heard a lot about this place and really glad I got to try it. If they have availability—don’t miss out on this gem. Could not recommend this place more.

This was an excellent place to stay. Tucked in a quiet area right by the center of Ella. The service was great and host was very gracious and welcomed us in very well. Highly recommend this place!

Great location and wonderful service. The breakfast was great ( coconut pancakes were divine ) . Easy walk ( 2 minutes ) into Ella main restaurant strip & we went to the Chill cafe. Lovely couple with a small family business, we would stay again .

Likes: Great views from location 1 steep block above town. Short walk to city center with dozens of eating and nightlife choices. Dislike (sort of): climbing the 1 steep block if I couldn't get a tuktuk.

Utterly Fantastic Hotel! Highly Recommend!
This was easily the best hotel we stayed at in Sri Lanka! The owner was so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was absolutely perfect. The balcony/patio situation was wonderful for working outside and relaxing. Also, the location is nearly unbeatable! I could not recommend this place enough!

One of the best hotels in Sri Lanka
Affordable, extraordinarily service and maybe the cleanest hotel we had. The location on the lower part of the waterfall road is ideal, too (close to the town but not too close). With just 3 rooms it is really a peace palace... Thanks Poorna.

Perfectly Pleasant
Very pleasant stay with great communication from the host. Comfortable room with quiet fan. Room had a shared balcony with nice views over the town. Was provided with a pot of tea daily to enjoy on the balcony. Property is up a steep hill which was a bit of a challenge with a heavy case but easy to manage when on foot. Pub to bed in 5 minutes. Happy to recommend.

Beautiful Small Hotel
Very pretty little hotel within walking distance of the center of town but not too close that there’s too much noise. The owner was very kind, communicative and helpful with all my questions. The breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay here again.

Brilliant place
We've travelled around Sri Lanka and this has to be the best place by far. Location, accommodate, staff, breakfast. I couldnt find one fault with this place. I just wish there was a Poomaz Palace everywhere we went. 11 out of 10!!!!

Fantastic guest house with devoted host
Beautiful guest house in great shape. The owner is a young man devoted to great service. He even drove us to the train station. We were a bit sceptical of the lack of AC, but Ella is a bit more chilly than the rest of the country, so it wasn't a problem. Also a very memorable breakfast.

The stay at this hotel was amazing! We totally enjoyed our stau here in Ella. Everything was just perfect! The room looks in real live much better than on this website. The beautifull view on the montains was just spectacular. The host also did a great job. He was very polite, nice and flexible. He also told us some insiders in contrast of the country and city and destinations. For every question he had an answer and helped us a lot. On this way again: Thabl you so much for the awesome stay at your hotel. Keep going this way :-) By the way: the breakfast is delicious! Sri lanka style! If ypu wont take it you will miss something.

Wonderful stay
This is a great spot! It is right the heart of Ella, and a great location to see all the nearby attractions. The owner is super friendly and helpful, greeting us with tea and cake, as well as providing tea and juice free, which was needed after some tough hiking. Our room was super clean and had a great view of Ella rock. The most welcoming, kind and helpful owner we’ve met! Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Will be back!
Great location, 1 min walk to city center. Host is a young lad, very helpful. The view from the terrace is awesome (Picture attached). Hot water available, no A/C but not required in Ella because it's in the mountains and slightly cooler. Walking distance to train station (10-12min walk) Based on the bedroom you get you may get a view of Ella rock from your window or step out into the shared patio. Breakfast spread well worth it, has sri lankan pancakes, toast, omelet, fresh brewed tea, coconut roti and side. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time at Poomaz Peace Palace. We had a big room with an amazing view over Ella. Perfect lication and very close to restaurants, shops Etc. Poorna was an excellent host and very service-minded. The communication before arriving and during our stay was also great. We would really reccomend staying here!

Great location and room
Great place to stay, very close to city center, amazing host! Room is clean, comfortable, water is good, everything is very organized and the owner is very attentive. View from the terrace is beautiful in sunrise. If you choose to add the breakfast, very good, local food.
