Great location
The house had plenty of room for me and my 8 friends (and 5 bathrooms helps a lot). The lot is semi-secluded with a big yard on the lake. This was the second time we have stayed there and will definitely be going back.

Lake Francis house
This was a quiet clean relaxing place. Just what we needed while attending a family member in hospice. We highly recommend this home away for any guests looking for peace and quiet, enjoying nature, and having a lot of room to spread out and live. Stay off your devices and look at the lake!

Family Gathering
It is a very nice house in a great location. On the north end of the lake with one house on the east side and woods on the west. Very private part of the lake. The lake was very nice, one of the best lakes for water quality in the area. Fishing was good for bass, northern and panfish. Already rented it again for next year.

Annual Family Vacation
Enjoyed our change in venue for our annual family vacation with kids and grand-kids. House worked out great with plenty of room and the beach was great for the little ones. Felt dock could be improved and more water activities for the older kids (movable dock or lily-pad) due to the shallowness of the lake. Overall a good time had by all.

Good time in Elysian
Great place for a group hangout. Most of the bedrooms had ensuite bathrooms which was great for the "own space" feel. The flat back yard surrounded by trees made the time spent out there enjoyable even with higher temperatures and few clouds.

Nice little getaway.
We had a nice family getaway. Good location and beautiful scenery. Although it says it's handicap accessible, it was not handicap friendly. Showers had no handlebars and all the toilets were low toilets. If someone is in a wheelchair it won't work. It was not easy for a few of us there. Overall the pictures weren't what we expected when we arrived. Could have used a good cleaning but overall nice space.

Annual Family weekend
The property is great lots of space for our large group. There are plenty of things to keep us busy both in good weather and bad. This was our second year staying here and our family has enjoyed ourselves and will be staying again in the future. Chris is great to work with, he handled our issues quickly even when he was out of town. Thank again and see you next year!!!!

Great weekend getaway with friends
We were overall very happy with the house and property although, like with most VRBOs, a few minor things could stand to be updated/fixed around the house. There was plenty of space to sleep and hang out. The canoes and kayak were great to have. There is a cabinet full of games as well. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, utensils, and other necessities. There are plenty of linens, blankets, and towels. Chris was pretty responsive to text messages, so no issues there either.

Great time!
Had a great time at the property and on the lake. The owner, Chris, was very responsive before, during, and after our stay. Nice property and location. Would stay again! Only 2 complaints was (1) dead bugs in the house at check-in & spiders in the house throughout our stay. Chris offered to come back and clean but we said it was not necessary. House probably just needs to be sprayed for bugs again and it would clear it up. (2) we couldn’t swim right on the house’s beach due to a ton of weeds but Chris provided a couple of different areas to swim at. Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not exactly what we were expecting for the price charged
We are veterans at renting houses so we have have had a lot of prior rentals to compare this property too. Pros: The house is spacious and set in a peaceful location over the lake plenty of bathrooms the lake is beautiful and we enjoyed taking the pontoon boat out everyday (not included in the basic rental) The owner seemed nice enough and checked in with us via text from time to time it was great to observe all the wildlife from the deck Cons: In general, we felt that the property was overpriced compared to other houses we have rented. Beds were uncomfortable. No separate climate controls for downstairs so it was 10 degrees colder down there at all times--not comfortable! The internet was limited--which should have been advertized--we had a few disappointed young adults who were frustrated by the imposed limit--as a consequence, they had something less than a wonderful time. There was a nasty sulfur smell from the well water and the Brita filter on the kitchen tap was expired. There was construction next door which woke us up early several of the days we stayed there. Very irritating and not conducive to a restful stay at all. The blinds in the two downstairs were in poor repair and we were unable to block light sufficiently to not be awakened at first light. Several of the rooms had overhead lighting only which is less than ideal. A few bedside/ table lamps would have been nice Despite the sizable cleaning fee, the house had dirt and dust in a few places although in general it wasn't too bad in most of the house. The general state of maintenance seemed poor--there were shims over the living room picture window that seemed very DIY/ doors to the patio/deck and the downstairs bedroom were broken and either difficult to close or impossible to lock/ some of the plumbing was improperly installed--again, DIY. One towel per person seemed really chintzy for a rental of this price and the bed covers seemed thin and cheap. The dishwasher did not work. There were no instructions as to where to pontoon key was, how to operate the boat or the lift although we did figure everything out eventually. All in all, though there were reasons to commend the house, we did not feel we got our money's worth and would not recommend at the price we paid.

1. After your stay we counted 38 towels at the property 2. The lower level has in-floor heat and a thermostat at the bottom of the stairs. 3. Phone conversation at check in going over pontoon and guests had no questions. 4. New beds installed in basement bed room. We had warranty issues 5. Guest text problem with Dishwasher, new dishwasher ordered 6. We have Star Link internet by Space X, the upload speeds during your stay were equal to fiber.

We enjoyed this spacious home , and so close to the peaceful lake .There are plenty of rooms for everyone and plenty of privacy! Some areas could have been a little cleaner and more updated for the price but overall we would go back !!!

Great place for a big group!
The owner was super friendly and helpful. Big house, had everything we needed and a beautiful view of the lake. I was able to bring my small dog with which was very helpful. It's a little drive to the greater Mankato area but it's worth it. We had a great stay

The house was wonderful. Well water with slight sulfuric smell, but tasted fine to drink. Everything about the property was wonderful. Separate living areas for large parties. Opens right up to the lake. Would be a wonderful spot for ice fishers. Will likely rent again and would highly recommend.

Christmas Getaway
This place had it all! Plenty of room and open space for all of us to be together without feeling cramped. The kitchen had all the essentials and plenty of pots and pans. We would definitely recommend place for large gatherings. Hope to do it again next year!

We chose this place to celebrate a family Thanksgiving to include two of our family members who are in wheelchairs. The doors were wide enough, the master bathroom accessible and there was plenty of room in the dining/living area for the two wheelchairs without crowding everyone else. Just an fyi for wheelchair guests - the entrance ramp outside has about a 2-inch jump from the gravel to the ramp so bring your own travel ramp if you have one. And you'll need helpers if your wheelchair can't go over gravel. We parked as close as we could and had plenty of helpers so it worked out. The kitchen was well-equipped to make/serve Thanksgiving dinner. Lots of counter space and outlets if you include the adjacent laundry room. It even has a spare crock-pot. And it has beautiful views!

We had a "family reunion" and there was plenty of room for everyone.
We had our family of 5, my wife's parents, my brother in law, his wife and his daughter and my sister in law with her son and the house accommodated everyone. Each bedroom on the lower had its own full bathroom with 2 queen beds and the main level had 3 bedrooms. There was a living room on each level and the kids were all able to set up a game/puzzle area on the lower level and the adults had the main level. It really worked out great for all of us. They had plently of linens, kitchens utensils and everything we needed. We caught a decent amount of fish from the lake as well.

My entire family stayed for the weekend(12 of us) there was plenty of room and all the amenities we needed. Even though the weather wasn't always cooperative we still managed to do some kayaking, fishing, and even had a treasure hunt for the grandkids. We will be back!!! Chris was an excellent host!! Relaxing at the Lake
We loved our stay at the "Lake House" - Plenty of room for everyone to roam and relax. Big dinning room table allowed us all to gather for our meals, play cards, and just enjoy each others company. Sunrises and Sunsets were gorgeous. Will be back when we are in the area.

Peace and Solitude at the Lake
Our stay was amazing. The home had all we were looking for including peace and quiet, The property is separated by up to 14 acres of land and your nearest neighbor. Lots of parking and great back yard and a wonderful lake. Fishing was good and we enjoyed the casual atmosphere we had at this location.

Good location, house needs some TLC
Door knobs fell off in a couple rooms, no bedrooms had doors that lock. Carpet was worn and stained. All beds squeaked with barely any movement (odd box spring selection?). As shared in listing, one bath towel per person isn’t enough. Kitchen needed more items such as dry measuring cups, small frying pan. Gas grill was rusted out yet functional. Dock was convenient but transition from land to dock was muddy and something like plywood. Lake around dock was full of seaweed, algae and certainly not swimmable. All the exterior doors don’t lock. Good laundry set up. Plenty of interior dining space. Deck had decent chairs but cheap folding “banquet” table. Water pressure was intermittent and water smelled. Property had its perks but needs some love.

Spacious home for family fun!
We loved the accommodations of the house and yard! House was very spacious with 5 bathrooms being a plus! Set up very well for large groups with kitchen being well stocked! Yard was great for volleyball and bean bag games. The only downfall would be the weeds in the lake with no beach. We did, however, find swimming at a public beach nearby. Chris was available for any questions and made sure we had everything we needed for a great family vacation!

The place was nice and spacious, both inside and outside and also isolated enough that you don't have to worry about neighbors. the amount of bathrooms were also very handy. The fishing is pretty good too, we were able to get some good catches right off the dock. The manager was able quick to respond.

Large property, great for multigenerational families!
We stayed here in April 2021 and had such a wonderful time. The weather was amazing, the kitchen is fully stocked with absolutely everything you will need even spices. There is tons of extras such as bug spray. We had several different families and the way the basement is laid out was perfect, each family had their own room with a bathroom, and that part was amazing. The older folks stayed upstairs since they couldn’t really do stairs, so it worked out really well. We were able to use the kayak and canoe which made it a lot of extra fun. Chris reached out several times to make sure everything was great and that check-in and checkout went smoothly! I highly recommend checking out this property for your large family getaway! The only thing it was missing was shampoo and conditioner and soap in the showers so make sure you bring your own.

Quiet Seclusion.
The location was perfect for our family time. No noise or traffic, just quiet nature. We enjoyed playing on the ice and even built a fire in the fire pit for roasted marshmallows while it snowed. Precious memories for all.

Wonderful
I rented this property with a group of friends to enjoy a weekend away. This place was perfect for our large group, which included dogs and small children. There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep and hang out and the view of the lake is INCREDIBLE. We stayed in November so we weren’t able to partake in any lake activities, but we did have great weather so we were able to hang out back by the water quite a bit. We loved that this place is so private and secluded, we had no worries about the dogs and the kids running around on their own or about bugging any neighbors. While it feels very remote, it’s just a short 5 minute drive to a gas station in town or a 20 minute drive to get to a Walmart for supplies. I was very impressed with how well stocked the kitchen is- there’s even a meat thermometer! Also plenty of dishes, silverware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils. Everyone was pleased with their bedrooms. The downstairs suites are fantastic for families! The owner was easy to contact and was responsive. One of our group thought they left something there and Chris was so kind in his response that he would mail it back if it was found (though we suspect that one of the kids must have squirreled it away in one of our bags on our way out). All in all, we had a really lovely stay and this place exceeded our expectations. It is perfect for a getaway with family or friends. I will add, when we stayed, the water in the house had an odor. We weren’t sure if it was because it was well water or if it was due to runoff (the nearby farmers were spreading manure on their fields during our stay) so to be on the safe side we didn’t drink the water, we just got a few cases of bottled water. This didn’t bother us at all, but figured that I should mention it for other groups that may be planning a trip so they can add bottled water to their packing list! We would definitely stay here again, it was a great experience overall. 10/10!

What a gorgeous spot! Beautiful views, spacious house, well stocked! Everyone had their own room (and bathroom!) for privacy and there are lovely, large common spaces for time together. Perfect reunion house! The lot is huge a nice shoreline and dock.

Enjoyed spending time with family on Lake Francis, Elysian, MN
Our immediate family lives in MN, and we don't. Finding a home that could accommodate visits from everyone including our elderly parents was a challenge, until we found this home. It was perfect! We really enjoyed having access to Lake Francis, and the lake frontage provided beautiful scenery. We saw an Eagle every day. Biking around the lake, canoeing and yard games were some of our activities. It was really important for us to cook all our meals at the house and the fully equipped kitchen made this possible. Chris was great and answered all of our questions, and he even checked in with us during our visit, to see if we had any issues or concerns. The home gave us an opportunity to spend quality time with our family, enjoy some meals together, and relax. The plus, was being able to bring our Black Lab - who really enjoyed swimming in the lake. We will definitely be renting this property again in the future!
