This is our 2nd stay with Jerry and we enjoyed ourselves just as much as I remember. Canoed the creek, barbecued for supper, hiked the trails and roasted hotdog & marshmallow around the fire while catching up with old friends.

Perfectly Peaceful Place
My family and I had the most wonderful time at this beautiful retreat. It's perfectly located with beautiful surroundings and a nice creek that you can hear while sitting out on the spacious porch at night. The grandchildren enjoyed playing in the creek. There is a wonderful firepit where you can gather around a fire at night with friends or family. The host is the best and very friendly and provided everything that we needed. We can't wait to get together again at this lovely and perfectly located log house.

Great spot for a more relaxed batchelor party experience
The best kept cabin I've ever stayed in. The beautiful remote property features so much to do without ever having to leave. A great place to have peace and quiet while celebrating a dear friend entering holy matrimony, or a family getaway. We certainly plan on coming back.

Third stay here…
We found this place in October 2020 during the height of the pandemic. Because it was out of the way, we figured that we could get people together to celebrate my 50th birthday. This we did. And we’ve been back every year since. It remains out of the way, and Jerry remains a remarkable host. He told us that he likes to meet all his guests. One can see why. He’s engaging, funny, witty. Mostly, he just cares about people. That is evident from the way he treats his guests. The place itself is spacious, well-stocked, and well-equipped. You will find more in the kitchen than you are perhaps used to from a VRBO property. In fact, during that first stay, we needed a cast iron skillet. Jerry was only too happy to provide one. And it’s like that with everything there. If you are not happy, ask. If something needs to be made right, it will be.

Yellow Creek Retreat 💛
Jerry was a wonderful host. Very prompt with any questions or concerns that arose during our stay. The cabin was beautifully decorated and very clean. The family really enjoyed our outdoor time walking trails, playing in the creek in front of the cabin, and playing basketball and horseshoes. The fishing was also excellent. My husband, his father, and brother caught at least 10 fish each on their canoeing trip on the Yellow River. Hopefully, we will be back in the spring!

We enjoyed Kristy and family so much. They took good care of our loghouse and left it very clean . Loved talking with them about fushing and the guys were very good fishermen . Glad they enjoyed all the outside activities and welcome them back anytime.

This is a very neat place. The history is absolutely amazing, gorgeous property, gorgeous home the owners couldn't have been any better hosts. WONDERFUL TIME!
This rental is a hidden treasure! Only a short drive to Nashville and was in a perfect central location for our needs. The master bedroom has the most comfortable bed i’ve ever slept in. I’m quite picky ability cleanliness and the house was in immaculate shape! Property owners were very accommodating and helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. We made memories here that will last a lifetime, and can’t wait to go again!

Crystal clear creek
The spacious property is nice for all ages. The hot, humid temps were not even noticed while we swam in the crystal clear swimming hole and the creek. Jerry and Janice were great hosts! The fire pit was a hit each evening! Thanks for providing a place for our family memories.

Awesome Memorial Day weekend
My family enjoyed this property so much! My young boys got to play in the creek and caught their first fish. We roasted marshmallows and played outside. They also love the bear and all the other animals! Jerry made us feel at home and warmly welcomed us to his cabin. Everything in the cabin felt so nostalgic. We loved it!

Great family Vacation rental for all ages
Came up for a wedding in Dickson. 10 of us stayed. Ages 84 to 7 years old. There was something for everyone. Jerry and his wife didn't forget a single thing. Was wonderful sitting on that porch having our coffee in the mornings looking down at the creek. The kids loved playing in the water and fishing in the pond. We heard turkeys on both sides of the creek one morning. Property is so beautiful and peaceful but close enough into town to go for dinner or get supplies. Kids loved making smores in the fire pit. Some of the boys took a float trip and came back with great stories of their adventure. It was a great place for our family. Couldn't ask for better friendlier hosts. They have really put a lot of time and effort in making this truly a place to remember and want to come back to. It looks exactly as represented but better in person. Miss it already!! The best…
Second time renter. A group of us visited for the second time—after discovering the place during the fall of 2020. Jerry does not disappoint. It’s a log house, really, built in the 1850s and lovingly restored and moved to its current location. Everything about the place is top notch, and Jerry himself is worth getting to know. As to the specifics: it’s far enough out to seem remote, but not too far out for a trip to town to be a pain. It’s also far enough out that stargazing is not like anything you’ve ever seen in the city. The place easily and comfortably sleeps four—which is how many we had the first time. It would sleep more—in actual beds. That said, there’s only one room that’s totally private. But it has an en suite bathroom. All in all, a beautiful location, convenient, and with a responsible, responsive, and downright fun host. You will not regret staying at Jerry’s place.

Such an enjoyable time at Yellow Creek Retreat
We loved our stay at this log home! To begin with, Mr Crawford was a genuinely kind and welcoming host. The reconstruction of this home is exceptional, and all the little decorative details are so fun to look at. The property is private, peaceful and has lots to explore. The little Branch creek at the end the driveway was soothing to hear in the mornings....and the YELLOW CREEK😍😍😍.......it conquered my young son’s hearts! Clear, cool and refreshing water at the Yellow Creek! They didn't want to leave! We hope to stay at this home again. And Mr Crawford.....my father-in-law watered your tomatoes plants....they looked a little sad 😉

Wonderful Stay—Didn’t Want to Leave!
The home is immaculate. Lots of outdoor entertaining. Our favorite part was the front porch with all the seating, hammock, and fire pit. Plenty of games for the kids and lots of fishing opportunities nearby. The home is private but within 20 mins you can be in Erin for restaurants or 35 to Dickson for shopping and restaurants. Everything was perfect and in all the years of family vacations, we have never met a nicer couple than Jerry and Janice. They were the best hosts and ensured we had everything we needed for the stay. We would stay here again!

Weekend Reprieve
My wife and I needed a quiet weekend away to recharge our batteries. We found the perfect place at Yellow Creek Retreat! Jerry and Janice are amazing hosts. Stunning place!
What a fantastic place this is. First of all, this is a beautiful property in a very quiet setting with 100% privacy. Its spotless clean and it has all amenities you can think if. The log house was built a couple of years ago and has been furnished with very high quality furniture and equipment. There are also tons of things to do. With over 163 acres of private property all by yourself one can go biking, hiking or fishing without every having to leave the property. The fire pit and grill are great for relaxing and preparing food, and there are lots of games (indoor and outdoor) to not have to be bored. The host, Jerry, is extremely responsive and welcoming, and he showed us around his properties and also took us to the Yellow Creek. I very highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to relax in a quiet environment with all the amenities and luxury one needs.

Peaceful and Perfect
I found Jerry and Janice’s cabin on VRBO. I was searching for a quiet and secluded place where I could go to spend some time in prayer. Although it was a little out of my price range, I felt this was the place that I should go. Not only was it the place, it was the perfect place! Situated above a rolling creek, in the woods, this cabin is a hidden gem. It is very quiet and peaceful. Jerry and Janice have stocked the cabin with everything you need for your stay. I only used the master bedroom, but the bed and pillows were super comfortable. There were plenty of pillows, and even some extra quilts, if you need them. The kitchen is stocked with all the pots, pans, and utensils you would need. The cabin itself is so unique, with detailed construction and it’s like a small nature museum...with all the interesting taxidermy and with the picture history of the cabin being built! The fireplace was a wonderful bonus! This is a great place for peace and quiet! It’s a safe place. Being a woman, alone, that was important for me, and I felt completely safe and at home during the entirety of my stay. I would definitely recommend this cabin to others. It would be a wonderful place for a family getaway (there’s many outdoor activity possibilities), and it is also a perfect place to get alone to spend time in prayer! As a matter of fact, I think it may be a very small, little piece of Heaven on earth!

Christmas in the Country
We had a great time spending Christmas at The Yellow Creek resort. Enjoyed hiking and the kids liked throwing rocks in the creek. Outdoor fire pit was nice. Well-stocked kitchen. Internet was spotty even though it was listed as 5-G. That may be out of their control. If you intend to do any work, you’ll have to drive to a town. Thanks for your hospitality, Jerry.

Enchanting and Relaxing
Our first thought as we walked into the cabin was that we were being welcomed into someone's home and our last thought as we drove away was we can't wait to return. The cabin is cozy, comfortable, and has a relaxed feel. We found most of the beds to be very comfortable, with a variety of extra pillows and blankets. Jerry set us up with ample fire wood and the gas starters made starting the fires so easy. The outside fire pit is luxurious and designed in a way that felt safe for kids. Everyone loved exploring the property. The creek is clean and shallow enough for safe exploration by the little ones. We enjoyed several hikes through the woods each morning. And the view from the front porch is magical at any time of day. Bathrooms and kitchen are cozy and well stocked. Something to note regarding sleeping arrangements and privacy. There are two bedrooms that close off completely. The master w/ king bed located downstairs and two twins in a small room upstairs. Additional twin beds and a queen bed are in the loft. There are also two twin beds in the dogtrot which is basically the entrance room and main pass-through of the cabin. So for example, us adults needed to keep things a little quite at night after kids went to bed because they were sleeping in the loft. Not a negative, but may be good for some folks to know. Yellow Creek Retreat is a gem and we will definitely return for another visit.

The ability to get off the beaten path and relax was amazing. Wildlife surrounded the home each day and the walking trails were excellent. We enjoyed the running spring fed stream and the tranquil ambience of the location. Chris and Linda are the most congenial and friendly people we’ve had here yet. They loved the outdoors so much I don’t think they even slept inside. The house was left so clean. Yellow Creek Retreat - A Genuine Vacation

We highly recommend staying here. Jerry and Janice are just like family. Kayaking was excellent! We will definitely visit again.

Private nature reserve
I don’t think any description would do this property justice. It really is your own 160 acre private nature reserve! There are miles of trails that are only yours for your trip, you won’t see another person. These are perfect for hiking or mountain biking. There is a spring-fed creek in the front yard that is knee deep and crystal clear. Our 5 kids spent a lot of the time playing in the creek. Inside the restored cabin is like living in history but with ALL modern conveniences. Jerry and his wife (owners) were so helpful and were there to answer any question and made sure our stay was perfect. I highly recommend doing the guided kayak/canoe trip on yellow creek with Jerry as your guide. His knowledge of the area and it’s history is amazing. Thanks to Jerry and his wife for making our trip so memorable!!

We enjoyed the Mattiyows so much. They left the house ingreat shape. We loved the five kids. They hit the ground running . They enjoyed everything we had.. would wekcone theM back xx anytime. Were a pleasure to be around.

Wonderful OutdoorAdventure
Our family of 5 really enjoyed our stay at Yellow Creek. We hiked, kayaked, fished, played in the creek. A wonderful place to escape and just enjoy nature and your family. The house was very clean and every detail had been thought about and taken care of. Highly recommended for outdoor lovers!

Private quiet retreat
If you enjoy the great outdoors, this is the place for you. We enjoyed the hiking trails, kayaking, fishing in the creek, horseshoes, corn hole, card and board games, s’mores in the fire pit, and wildlife. We saw lots of turkey, deer, armadillos, fish, and even a bald eagle! The Crawfords are excellent hosts who’ve carefully thought through everything you need to enjoy the comforts of home and the Tennessee countryside. Perfect for all ages! Highly recommend!

Jennifer’ and family was awesome guests.. they left the log house as clean as they found it. Thks for the kind words in your review. We welcome them back at any time. We loved mom and DAd . They were a blast. But , I think he should mow the yard instead of her. Ha. I was amazed how they loved kayaking in muddy water due to the overnite storm. They were good at kayaking . Love to have them all back for a family reunion .

Absolutely wonderful
Everything about this house is amazing. The bedding is the most comfortable we have had in any rental. Jerry and Janice and extremely friendly and add special touches to the vacation. They meet us at the house at check in and showed us around the property, 163 acres, and told us about all the little secret places to fish, kayak, and swim. Truly a wonderful relaxing week. Thank you.
