"The place is charming and a bit vintage, not at all antiseptic! It’s unique. Briana and Josh at the front desk were kind and helpful. The little Mexican restaurant Los Palmitos, that Briana suggested was perfect for an affordable, delicious meal in good company, watching Mexico play in the World Cup. I got a good night's sleep and was rested for my early morning voyage into Tijuana for some radical dental work. Just what I needed, thank you…"

"Fun family place to stay. We stayed in a two bedroom suit that overlooked the golf course and grape vines. Pools were clean and busy, even on a Monday. They had a farmers market going on and daily activities that kept you busy. We went for a wedding so didn't use the pools but one day. Definitely don't take advantage of the time Share tour, which entices you with two California Disney tickets and 100.00 Visa card. I went to sit through it just because my kids and hubby were still packing and they wouldn't give me anything for staying to listen to them . Not one gift. Waste of time. But I did enjoy the resort, golf, and pools."

Omni La Costa Resort & Spa Carlsbad

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Omni. We are a family with two children 13 and 11 years old. We very much enjoyed the room that we got with a king-size bed and a pullout which worked well for our two children. The staff was incredibly kind everywhere we went. The dining options were plentiful and the ride to nearby village and beaches was convenient. The resort is large and does require a little bit of walking to, and from the centralized dining areas and various pools throughout the property. The family pools (complex of three) is filled with toddlers and their parents. The noise level is very high and unless you have a toddler in to not at all pleasant to swim in. Three other pools that are for general use are much nicer and quieter - those several families with small children and their large Floaties - who want to avoid the loud family pool dominate these areas as well. Again, nothing in comparison to the family pool but not as quiet as a family with teenagers would like. Finally there is a 21+ pool, which we did not see as our kids are still that age where we want to be nearby when they are swimming. The food is fairly priced and there are lots of options. The marketplace allows you to choose things like pastries, espresso drinks, bagels, sandwiches etc. The bar is nice and we enjoyed watching the World Cup. The carts that transport guests throughout the resort sometimes require a wait - best to call ahead. But it all works. We loved our stay!"

"Our room was not ready when we arrived. We had to wait another hour after check in for our room. We did get a beautiful view It is a family resort but some families were letting kids trash pool area and runarou.d property unsupervised so be aware of things like that. Although its an older resort the location and grounds were wonderful, bed was ok, restraint was amazing, drinks are pricey and front desk staff ok Concierge was a delight! I would stay again."

San Diego Mission Bay Resort

"Overall, the resort was wonderful. We really enjoyed the pool and activities for kids. The room was big and also well maintained. Relatively affordable for the area. Just had some cons which is what lowered my rating. The room did not have a microwave and our TV was glitchy. The location on Mission Bay is not the best as there is nothing walkable (the active part of Mission Bay is on the other side). Fun hotel though."

LEGOLAND California Hotel

"Our experience with Legoland hotels was amazing! Would definitely stay here again. My only downside is that the hotel room treasure chest could not be solved while in the room. Would have been super nice for all of the clues to be hidden inside the hotel rooms."
