「This motel is very clean, freshly painted and new bathroom. Soaps come in plastic wrapping which is a disappointing choice. They provide small plates, small mugs, glasses, teaspoons and knives. Bring a bowl and a larger spoon if you fancy cereal. I think its a bit expensive for the basic simplicity but it is very clean and fresh feeling in the room. Fire alarm was beeping when we arrived but they fixed it straight away. 」

「We loved our time at this property - just what we needed! A beautiful view, quiet surrounds and very close to lots do do in the area. All we needed was provided and it was a wonderful winter weekend to sit in front of the fire and relax. A beautiful spot and Heather was a wonderful host. We hope to be back!」

We stayed as 2 adults, 2 kids and our dog and the place was a great size with an even better backyard including chicken coop that the kids adored. 「The motel rooms on the ground floor were sufficiently shield by the hotel building so we heard no traffic noise. The beds were comfortuable and we slept well. It has a microwave, toaster and fridge with the makings for breakfast at hand. One minor downside is that there is no formal office. So. you need to call someone to check-in to your room. Similarly on checkout, you just leave the keys in your room and shut the door.」

Spacious home, multiple eating areas, quiet street, and with a terrific host. Maldon is a charming small town and well-located to see the goldfields area. Only downside is there are only a couple of places in the town proper to dine out (Castlemaine is close). But a great place with all creature comforts.」
