I almost went 2 * here, but the owner was very good with communication which is a big deal and I bumped up to 3*.
Pros-
* Responsive owner. We had to cancel our booking and then ended up re-booking, and Patricia was great to work with through that and through the entire process.
* Location- good location in Fayetteville, close to parks, restaurants, shopping, etc.
* Sleeping arrangements - two king beds in two different rooms worked well for us and kids. Beds were comfortable.
CONS
* Odor - house had a very noticeable smell when we entered the house. Cleaning crew sprayed a massive amount of Apple Blossom glade to try and cover it up, but the result wasn't good. Smelled bad the entire time.
* Oven - the oven seemed like it was going to work fine, and we put a breakfast casserole in to bake. About halfway through, an error which was accompanied by loud beeping came on, apparently is the oven thinking it's too hot. But, it was barely cooking the food. So, we had to scrap b'fast and the only way I could turn off the beeping was at the breaker. That breaker also controlled wifi, the living room TV and seemingly half the house. Lucky us. The house is dated, which is okay, but probably not a shock that not everything worked properly.
* Access to Busy Street - while the location is convenient, the house is not gated (except at very back) and the street it's on is pretty busy. Worth knowing if you have small children.
*Water - the tap water is not drinkable. In fairness, I think that may be an issue with the town and not specific to the house. But, good to know if you're thinking of visiting Fayetteville. They did include bottled water in the fridge as recognition of this which was nice.
* Information upon entering house - there were no notes, instructions, etc when we got in. Had to reach out to get wifi info. A welcome note with a few pieces of information is what I've seen with other VRBO's.
While the owner was very nice, I can't imagine ever staying here again.
