The room was clean. But what we really liked was the staff. Hasan, Sara and Christopher do really everything to help you find your way into Sri Lanka. Sara is an excellent cook and they are really very nice and helpfull. We recommend this place to everyone.

Stayed for our 2 last nights before returning to the UK. Lovely welcome, super room - had everything! Loved being with all the extended family of cats & dogs! Hassan, Sarah, Cristopher are doing a great thing rescuing and caring for these animals, with such love and dedication. Eat there both nights - food excellent and great company

Härligt hideaway

Hotellet är verkligen en riktig härlig hideaway att andas ut på. Perfekt som första anhalt eller att avsluta semester på. Lungt, tyst och fridfullt, Men endå nära till negombo centrum ca 20 min med tuk tuk. Vi stannade endast 2 nätter här önskar att vi stannat längre. Ägarna Hassan och Sarah samt deras 13 hundar, alla räddade från gatan, fick oss att känna oss välkomna som gamla vänner på besök. Vi kommer gärna tillbaka.

Lovely host. Exceeded my expectation.

It was the last night of a long trip, all we needed was a place near the airport for one night to catch an early morning flight. I had low expectation to begin with but was pleasantly surprised. For the price it charged, the room is well equipped & clean. This is the first place we come cross in Sri Lanka that provided cotton buds & tooth brush kit, the 4 star hotel in Unawatuna did not!! The host couple are friendly & helpful. Our children enjoyed the Sphagetti. Very nice breakfast as well. If you can find this place ( it’s called hideaway :)) & don’t mind dogs & cats. This is the place to stay.

This is how hospitallity should be!

Nice and quite place owned bij the most friendly couple we have met. During our stay in Sri Lanka the kids kept asking when we would return to Sarah and Hassan. They shelter injured dogs and kittens what made it an even more nice place to stay. The rooms are very tidy and the Sarah is het best cook ever!

Perfect start to our Sri Lankan adventure

There are guest houses and hotels and then there is Fire Dragon....from the pick up at the airport to a re visit a month later for our last night, everything we could have wanted to make our stay enjoyable was there. I could ramble on about Sarah, Hassan and Christopher's wonderful hospitality, or the brilliant food ( Sri Lankan curry is amazing). Or their desire to make Fire Dragon a sustainable and responsible destination; or the awesome extended family of dogs and cats...so friendly ( big up for Mr Wiggles, Nosey, sunshine and all the others). I guess you would like to know that the rooms are spotlessly clean, really comfortable and well resourced. We are a family of four and it was ideal for us. above all though, we were made to feel so safe, secure and really welcome, it's a bit of a cliche but it was like coming home when we came back at the end of our trip. I can not recommend Fire Dragon highly enough.

You should stay here!

We booked Fire Dragon Hideaway for our last night in Sri Lanka and had a lovely time there. Sarah and Hassan were wonderful.hosts and the food was delicious! Little things like free filter coffee, tea and bottled water were appreciated and we liked that you could grab a drink and keep your tab on the wall. Good to have a fridge and jug in the room also. Airport is super close and Hassan arranged a driver for us. Kids loved the pool and the kittens !

Great relaxing place to stay in congenial company

We only had two nights, but the surroundings and our hosts made us wish it had been longer. The hotel really is a 'hideaway', with lots of friendly and well looked-after cats and dogs around. Sarah cooked lovely food in the local style, and Hassan organised a great boat trip for us. As Sarah comes from Surrey, she can give British visitors an insider's view of Sri Lanka.

Great place close to Airport

We chose Fire Dragon for our first night in Sri Lanka as it was very close to the Airport. The owner was very responsive to our emails and was there to welcome us early in the morning for check in! The room/bathroom was very clean and the breakfast was amazing. We had a very pleasant stay.

Perfekt start på ferien

Hyggeligt afslappende atmosfære med fantastiske og hjælpsomme værter, som hjalp os godt i gang med vores ferie. Maden var god og billig - og der var mere end nok. Værtsparret tager sig af hjemløse katte og hunde. Dette er med til at give stedet en helt bestemt stemning, som vi nød i fulde drag. Stedet ligger lidt uden for byen, hvor man ikke er vant til turister. Er gåtur i området er derfor en ganske særlig oplevelse. Vi oplevede smilende og imødekommende lokale, der endda inviterede os på the. Vi kommer gerne igen på Fire Dragon Hideaway.

Wonderful stay

We enjoyed our 3 night stay so much we returned for our last night at the end of our holiday! Hassan and Sarah made us feel so welcome and we loved having all the animals around us. They have invaluable knowledge of the island and are happy to accommodate most requests and offer a personalised 5* friendly service .The property is not in the centre of town but is safe and secluded. Shehan is always available with his tuk tuk if needed and at such a reasonable price. I would recommend staying here to everyone.

Family run hotel close to the airport.

We choose this hotel as needed somewhere close to airport as was arriving early hours in the morning and after a long flight didn't want to travel in darkness to our 1st destination here, honestly hadn't thought it is a small family run hotel and the hours of arrival 01.55 landing and what that would mean, but they have done nothing but make sure we was welcome and gone above and beyond in every way for us, so much so we have now booked to stay there for our last night too (night we fly 5.30am) and couldn't think of a better way to end our holiday than how we started, with genuinely lovely warm people. Accommodation is quaint and pretty, beautiful birdsong in the morning, and not sure who cooked them but the coconut pancakes are delicious my family devoured them (as was mine as I have an allergy to coconut and they quickly made up a batch just for me with no coconut). Room was comfortable for 4adults and spotless, aircon worked with no problem & there was wifi in the room too.
