Madison Fireman's Beach Hotels

"It was definitely one of the better hotels I've stayed at. Was it worth the high price for a night. No way should i have paid that rate. I waited an hour to get in and we got there after check in time was posted. Then there it's ok to walk to pool without a shirt on but apparently not anywhere else. That should be posted and its an odd rule. A lower rate for a night i can see but it is what it is. Next time I'll just use an air bnb like usual. "

"The kitchen staff was very friendly and the eating was clean - the furniture was very worn and outdated, but the area was clean. The room that we stayed in looked like a picture from the 1970's and it was damp and smelled like "wet dog" each time we entered our room."

"No coffee pot in room. No coffee available until 7am. TV did not work. No blow dryer. Room had paint splotches on the floor and wall trim. Looked like it was being renovated. "

"A great value and a nice and clean room. This is a "no-frills" hotel, so don't expect too much, but the location is great and is very close to Madison's main attractions such as the University of Wisconsin. Save hundreds and AVOID the downtown Madison hotels!"

"The room was clean. I Don'T like it when the fan in the bathroom is on the same thing as the light."

"It appears that their reservation software was not working. Took FOREVER to check in only to be given a room key to an occupied room. Clerk then had to go to the new room to confirm it was available before I could get a new room. Cleaning staff pounded on my door fairly early in the morning apparently not knowing that I was checking out later that morning."
