We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and you'll be hightailing it through airport security and having a ball in Itea in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a comfortable experience if you carry the right gear. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any vital medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and gasoline, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as possible. Opt for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to bring a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
