We've pulled together all the info you need to make your journey a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and having a blast in Letter in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, your important medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between airlines, the general guide to follow is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes box cutters, razor blades, aerosol cans and flares. Sporting equipment like hockey sticks, and items that could harm passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by wearing layers, and opt for flat, slightly roomy footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
